I love the idea and I was deciding to craft a golden version when the expansion launches. However, I am a wild player and I realized that all the deck recipes are in standard. So Blizzard will either have to add some wild recipes (very unlikely because of the variety of decks you can make in wild) or this card will be nearly useless in wild.
The problem with Whizbang is trade your constructed (Standard or Wild), optimal deck for something inferior with 0 pay of, don't make any sense, a very litlle advantage should have for that, for example, your hero power can be used twice for turn or something like that.
The argument the card is good for new players is weak, with 1.600 dust spend crafting this terrible card the new player can make a very good aggro warlock or rogue deck much better than a random recipe.
"Hey guys this card doesn't seem like it would be fun in wild due to how the deck recipes work"
"Doesn't matter cause this card isn't a competitive viable card"
smh. Turn every fucking post into a discussion on card power level and ignore the OP. Some people actually play this game for fun. You don't need to hijack every thread into your own meta prediction garbage.
The reason it is good for a beginning player is not because it allows them to craft a competitive deck for cheap, its because it lets them experience a lot of what the game has to offer without having to craft all of the stuff to do that. Sure you can craft some aggro budget bullshit deck that is gonna bore someone in no time, that is not good for the beginner experience, even if they win more with it.
Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that they will create wild deck recipes, since wild isn't the game mode they want new players getting into. Although I think the complaints that it isn't a competitive card are ridiculous. Maybe not every card is made for people who are trying to be competitive. Maybe this is for people who are thinking about getting into hearthstone who have almost nothing and find deck-building daunting. Or maybe it is for messing around with your friends on a relatively even playing field. It can be a valuable card that a lot of people enjoy without seeing a hint of competitive play.

It seems weird to me that blizz wouldn't push new players towards wild, since wild is far and away the better place for a new player to go. It's considerably cheaper for them in the long run to craft a budget wild deck, as opposed to immediately buying into a set where their cards have a time limit before they even have any sort of baseline. The notion that standard is cheaper/better for new players baffles me.
With the introduction of this card, and the fact that blizz likely won't make deck recipes for wild (for whatever reason), the misconception that standard is better for new players seems especially common.
I do really like this card, however, even if it's obviously not good. I like the idea of queuing up and not knowing which of two decks you'll even be playing until the game starts.
I don't know why so many people are hating on this card. I think it is one of the most creative cards I have ever seen. Not every card has to be meta competitive to be a good card. Blizzard did good with this one.

1,600 dust allows people to play with dozens of cards across numerous deck types, including legendaries. Crafting an aggro deck gets you a better aggro deck and nothing else. And people using this will likely be at lower ranks, so it doesn’t need to be optimal decks.

Except the starting point was someone claiming that the decks will not be competitive in Wild. Of corse they won’t, the decks won’t be competitive in Wild or standard. that isn’t the point of the card.

I don't think that the idea that standard is better for new players is a misconception at all. One of the biggest hurdles for new players is just figuring out what things do. In standard, you have 4-6 sets of cards that you need to understand. In wild, you have all of those cards, plus a lot more. And anything you craft in standard is good in wild as well. It might not be meta, but the one wild deck you craft that is good right now isn't likely to be meta for all that long either.
Wild does have some powerful cheap decks, which might give it a small economic advantage, but that is only the most relevant factor for someone who is already a card game veteran. For the more casual audience, which is much of hearthstone's audience, having more different cards and mechanics to understand is a bigger obstacle than the money.

There is a difference between having fun with a meme deck that eventually nets some wins, and trying to get an already meme deck that is weak in standard to work in wild.
I play a lot of meme decks. Hell, I was recently working on a hoarding dragon togwaggle meme rogue deck for crying out loud, but if you have to tank a lot of wins & I mean a lot of them then you're not going to want to craft this as a wild player for the memes. The more games you have to play before ever getting a win the more that the meme feels exhausting to play instead of enjoyable to play. Using basic standard deck recipes in wild will just get you slaughtered.
This card is not tailored for wild players unless you're a new player that also lacks a big standard collection too, which I think is unfortunate because I'm 100% sure if T5 started dedicating wild-only meme cards you'd see the forums & reddit in an uproar.
Except the starting point was someone claiming that the decks will not be competitive in Wild. Of corse they won’t, the decks won’t be competitive in Wild or standard. that isn’t the point of the card.
Of course I know that this card won't be competitive in wild but my point was that you can't even have fun (maybe a little) with this card in wild because you won't get to experience with wild cards.
You can tell most people posting here are standard players. Everyone is stuck on the topic of this being a great card for the new player experience, which I will admit that is the point of the card. However, it is targetted for players to get into standard, not wild.
Whizbang is a thinly veiled standard-only card. Yes you can technically use this in wild too, but why would any player purposefully restrict themselves to a standard-only selection of decks in such a format (I'm not even talking about the power creeped optimized standard ladder decks that can bully certain wild decks)?
How would you feel if T5 designed a card that was intended to work better in wild than in standard? I'm not just talking about the card being better in wild due to a wider pool, but was somehow designed in its effect to fundamentally be weaker if you choose to use it in standard? Would you be thrilled that you lost a legendary slot that might have otherwise been a better card for your format?

Well said, that was what I meant, and you worded it and explained it in a better way.
I love playing meme decks in wild as well, and that is why I complained about the deck recipes. Using a standard meme deck in wild will not only be not competitive, but will also be boring.

This card is just dust. Completely useless cos the Standard recipe decks are badly constructed and weak. If I opened this card, I'm dusting it straight away.

Well, probably this card will be useless in next expansion, unless Blizz constantly updates his decks.

this card has 16.7% chance to get a deck with a card after Boomsday Project expansion, which they will fix it as soon as the expansion launched

I like the idea of this card because it allows new/casual players to play somewhat competitive decks without collecting all the cards.
