Molten Giant and Mountain Giant will be changed to be elementals? This seems a little crazy to me, doesn't really fit if you ask me (I know it's just the way it's going to be, I'm just saying I don't agree with it haha). Giants are giants, and elementals (ie Earth Elemental) are elementals, and I don't like them crossing over like this.
I feel like a better elemental mage and shaman will be able to come out of the woodworks. Just realized that Snowfury Giant is also an elemental, not that it really matters.
Eh, I just don't like the change. Doesn't seem right to me. Had to mini-rant about it somewhere.

Mountain Giants are not elementals despite what you'd think. Lore wise they are titan creations originally sent down to fight the old gods. Molten giants however should be elementals.

It was just announced that both will get the Elemental tag.

Sweet. I remember having a lot of fun back in Un'Goro, when Jade Spirit was marked as an elemental. This change made my jade elemental shaman a bit more synergistic. We got more ways to activate Servant of Kalimos and also a better outcome in some cases. Making the giants elementals will certainly affect some decks and will make tempo elemental decks more powerful and maybe more popular. I'm happy with this change.
I predict this change will be detrimental to elemental decks, especially Shaman with Servant of Kalimos.
Giants are strong in very specific decks with very specific synergies. Substantial discounts are necessary to make them worth it (or even play at all in arena).
Adding giants into the elemental pool will dilute the overall card quality for discovering elementals, since the giants will be unplayable in a deck not designed to capitalize on their discounts.

..........what?
you could play an elemental deck and just not include giants if they dont fit your theme.

I bolded the important part since you missed it.
You can't avoid giants in the Servant of Kalimos discover pool. Molten Giant (in wild) and Mountain Giant don't work unless your decks are designed to make use of them, making them bad discovers. That being said, this is a fringe downside, and this change is for the most part a positive thing.

I think he means that they could make the pool of Servant of Kalimos discover cards worse, when you are generally low on cards in your hand. Then you get offered two different giants and another "weak" option.

sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken
Will this make Baron Geddon a safer craft by extension? He's one of the few Classic legendaries I'm still missing.
Baron Geddon is not necessary in Elemental Mage decks if that is what you are talking about. But it's a nice heal in the endgame when you are Frost Lich Jaina that can buy you another one or two turns.

personally I think its good for the game (weve been asking for fairly frequent nonexpansion meta shake ups for a long time and new management seems to be giving it to us). Lore wise, it makes sense as molten giants were servants of rag and mountain giants servants of therezane. Sea giants could be argued as well since they are servants of neptulon, but they are like gilbins.
I expect mage to see a resurgance and DK jaina see more play because of it.

re: Servant of Kalimos - easy. Don't run Servant of Kalimos. It's not even that great of a card.

In your case I would NOT craft Baron. You will deeply regret it in a few months when you start opening legendaries you already own because you decided to spend 1600 dust on Baron.
Just chill. You will get him guarenteed. You say it is one of the few missing; just have patience :)
To everyone else: Yeah maybe. Elementals got 2 % more interesting now.

I disagree.
if you are talking about strictly money-gold-dust resource managing, yes, you are right. You will eventually get him.
But that could take a long time if you just get the 1-time-a-week free brawl pack. Maybe you will get him when Frost Lich Jaina and all the elementals have rotated out. Or, even if you do play wild, you might open him when you are not interested in the deck at all.
I would craft it, I already did just for the Big Mage and Elemental mage decks and have been having a lot of fun.

But not Sea Giant?
Uhh. It isn't made of one of the elements. Its just a giant. The mountain giant is made of earth (rock) and the molten giant is made of lava (fire).
The sea giant is made of murlocs and totems.

now big game hunter will see more play i guess ...

Montian = Earth Molten = Fire. Done
Lore wise they are elementals. Gameplay wise it opens up a few deck possibilities. Works for me in just about every way.
As far as right now, this is solid for some mage elemental decks that run mountain giants with Book of Specters.
I don't think shaman have enough draw for mountain giant to really be part of the deck but maybe they will get some in the new expac.
I disagree.
