It's no mystery that Barnes has been kind of a powerful card since release, but the problem has escalated to nerf level since the release of Eternal Servitude.
Big Priest at is current state is an unhealthy archetype that allows you to snowball at turn 5 without drawback or counterplay whatsoever if you can play Barnes at turn 3 or 4. The only truly counter to it are Potion of Madness and Shadow Madness. (Hex or Polymorph on a 1/1 against a deck of big minions is embarassing, and we're still talking about class cards)
Barnes needs a fix, very simple fix, that can let him be still an awesome card. Just have him summon a 1/1 Token with the effect of a minion inside your deck instead of a copy of a minion inside your deck. It's really that easy.
I would still keep it in my collection for all the amazing uses it might have. (Deathrattle, Malygos, Y'Shaarj shenanigans are still on the table)

I really don't see the difference between old Naga decks and current Big Priest: both highroll, both with class-dependent specific counters.
As of the OP: text is what matters. What is broken in Big Priest is that it can cheat out broken texts. You could still resurrect broken texts after silence (just trade). Sure, weaker bodies, but texts are enough to turn the game.
I mean i wouldnt mind, if such a change would happen, but it will not, not only, but also cause they would have to change other cards like Herald Volazj or Twilight's Call for example that work the same way.
Just make the summon from the opponents deck. A lot more rng and fun. This way the card becomes good vs deathrattle decks and stops being annoying when the opponent misses his counter.
But it's not just Barnes, there are tons of cards that need tunning. If they decide to fix wild with card updating, we will receive a lot of mana for sure.
1.Big Priest not wraps all the meta around it. 2. It is a bottom Tier 1 deck at best. 3. Not every class can answer all of decks, That's how the game works. I haven't seen a single Kingsbane Rogue crying about not beating Paladin or Aluneth Mage. 4. Reno decks are highly favoured against Big Priest, Even Shaman too,Kingsbane Rogue and Druid decks too and basically any combo deck. Just don't play crappy decks like Odd Elemental Dragon Priest and you should be able to beat them. 5. The only problematic thing is Barnes into Yshaarj on turn 4 which is still hard but beatable because there are a lot of decks that are doing far more unfair things just a few turns later. 6. I'm against nerfing the Barnes at all because it would weaken the Malygos non-Druid decks, Big Rogue, Ancestral Shaman and so on. Just no. Learn to deal with it or move on.
I never understood why using spells like Resurrect, Eternal Servitude etc summon the minion back at full stats when it wasn't that actual minion being played why is it credited as being full stats when it died as a 1/1? Another simple solution would be make the card that can be returned with the resurrect spells be a 1/1. Not exactly sure why that has never been the case tbh.
Nerfing Barnes because of one deck archetype in wild is unessescary imo. That’s no reason to nerf a neutral card...

Nah, it is just a propositive thread about how Big Priest should be fixed (again, the problem is not winrate, but its successful reliance on highroll).
But you make a point: nerfing a neutral card is tricky and dangerous.
But the point is that otherwise you should nerf both Resurrect and Eternal Servitude, and/or rework their interaction with 1/1 copies.
Is that better than nerfing Barnes? It is certainly more complicated.
Bis priest is at a 50% wr and raises at 75% when you have barnes on turn 4,and guess what it is very likely to not draw him till turn 4. No1 says anything about the cancerous aggro meta in wild, just leave it be, wild is wild, you guys are just a bunch of triggered kids who want to nerf every single archetype

I love big priest (not currenty playing with it because I'm close to my 500 warlock wins) but in the last few months it's winrates dropped. There are many removals and much more aggro decks, and the priest eventually runs out of ways to return their dead minions...
This said, the barnes nerf could have come a year or so ago... not the time right now.
That this is just another disguised "Nerf something that beats control" thread?
That a deck that should be nerfed that is not even tier 1?
That wild should be taken through balance checks when other more competitive card games don't nerf their non-banned list formats?
That a deck should be nerfed that already has MULTIPLE counters?

Nerf every card that makes someone upset. That will solve all the problems in Hearthstone.
From what I can tell, This thread is another Nerf Big priest topic. I played the deck for quite a long time, I found it entertaining in the respect that it was not consistent, reliable yes. It wins by luck not by skill, and that was the thrill.
Now as for the Barnes issue, one of the best changes I've ever seen is to change him to Summon rather then Copy. If it summons the creature then it removes the creature from the deck, which limits Shadow Essence.
That still won't kill Big priest, ressurect mechanics will still work. This will restrict other decks that use him as well. So there are some options but until Blizzard agrees, we are stuck.
i don't know why anyone would be defending big priest. it's a high roll deck that's both boring to play and annoying to play against. yes there are counters. there are counters for quest rogue, too, and it was nerfed (twice!). there were counters for nagalock and it was nerfed into oblivion. big priest is the kind of deck that should never have >50% wr, let alone be tier 1.

Resurrect wasn't enough so have targeted ressurect so you can always ressurect Obsidian Statue Eternal Servitude
i play cubelock and lose 5 games in a row then i play odd paladin and get my stars back wash rinse repeat

Of course it can be nerfed in a healthy way but now, explain that to Blizzard..

Barnes and the highrolling archtype it brings, has to be changed/nerfed.
cubelock is also one deck, so wasceven paladin, besides barbes is also usedin spell hunter in wild.
