""Renolocks shouldn't even be running lacky and dark pact. Also renolock doesn't really work anymore because of naga giantlocks. Maybe they become somewhat viable again next week. I used to hit rank 5+ with renolock till 2018.""
Im sorry but reno decks are good now...just today i have beated 2 out of 3 giantlocks faced :) also dark pact is good with sylvanas if you want but i agree that lackey isnt that good in reno deck :) also i have about 60% wr vs warlocks with renolock and most of them were giantlocks.

Welcome to Sacrificial Pact-ville. It's always been a better card esp. in cubelock. to clear those pesky Voidwalkers and those priests who seem to run Mind Control on a Voidlord like it's candy.
With Carnivorous Cube around, Dark Pact could damage me and I would still consider using it. With the loss of 8 points of healing, Warlocks have to be more careful with how they manage their health around aggressive decks, and cannot pull such dramatic recovery moves.
I’m thinking that shroom brewer will get in to some lists for the 4 heal, it was already in some of the decks in HCT Americas! I like the change, I feel like playing rush warrior into warlock won’t be insta concede anymore.
Alot of people think that this card was not the problem... and most of the people think that cubelock was oppressive.... they did not address with these nerfs a single of these problems but instead nerfed a well balanced archetype (control lock). WTF
Well balanced... Insane wall of taunts multiple times over the course of the match, arguably the best of board clears in the game, option to destroy your opponent's deck in control matchup and huge burst healing. I think we have a different sense of balance.
Everything you describe is true, but this nerf didn't impact any of it. If the things you described are your problem with lock, then you wanted a nerf to Guldan, which even I think is needed, despite control lock being one of my faves to play.
I actually ran S.P. in my control deck for a while when I kept facing cubelocks while climbing ladder. Was nice to destroy their demons and heal while I'm at it. They didn't see that coming because it wasn't in any of the standard decks.
I really dont get why people think this is a good nerf. Warlock needed that health so hard to have a chance against aggro. Same for lacky. "cheating out voidlord" on 6 was kind of the only way to survive against aggro (with a 50/50 if they found the silence or not). Now Warlock is back to tier 3 (except the loved cubelock).... gratz blizzard and to all aggro fanboys ;) I think now is my time for a ladder pause
The only reason warlock needs the heal to survive aggro is because they play a greedy top heavy build with little to no early game. I wouldn't mind seeing an evolution of the warlock build that wasn't so focused on just stalling until they can cheat out a big wall or a semi OTK Doomguard rush. Perhaps the Lackey change will force warlocks to engage more in the early game play but I doubt it.
This is one of Blizzard's two big idiot moves when tweaking balance.
Either they nerf the wrong thing in order to force people to buy new cards, like nerfing Basic or Classic cards when the real problem was some card from the latest expansion they want everyone to buy.
Or they overdo the nerf, swinging the card from one extreme to the other.
This, obviously, is the latter.
Making the card HALF as effective is, obviously, overkill.
Even more sensible, though, would have been to give the card lifesteal instead of restoring arbitrary health.
What has happened is it seems cubelocks have vanished and got replaced by even locks. I made a spiteful warlock deck and will try it in ranked for the June season, but it's looking solid. We may see cubelock return in a different form altogether. I don't think dark pact nor lackey is worth running and without those, voidlords might not be worth running either. Maybe cubelocks and control locks will just run shroom brewers and rotten applebaums for their midgame heals.

I've been playing Control Warlock minus lackeys, instead I am using Despicable Dreadlord and Rotten Applebaum. Dark Pact still has a place, as we need to instantly kill off Rin in control matchups, although there does seem to be an absense of silence of late.
Winrate actually seems to be higher than before the nerf, but that's just personal experience, I've probably had some luck.
No idea what Cubelocks are doing...I actually haven't seen any since the patch.

I still think that it would be better if it only targeted demons like Sacrificial Pact But I'm still happy to see this half of the combo downsized.
I like this nerf for sure.

This can't happen soon enough.
"1 mana: Activate a friendly deathrattle and restore 4 health to your hero" is still pretty dang good.

Something tells me that Warlocks will still prefer the healing.

My control lock minus lackeys, instead put in a
heal and taunt and it is dominating. Undefeated from rank 8 to 5. Burn mage is a bit harder to beat, but still doable.

Yup, they're still taking the healing - for good reason.
