I was on my EU account, where I don't have many cards and I tried to create a deck with Prince Malchezaar in the hopes of getting some good wild legendaries. However what I got was cards like the new ones that have the Start of the Turn effect, which are useless in a deck not built around them. Of course with the frozen throne expansion, Malchezaar was made even worse with the inclusion of other princes that require your deck to not have cards that cost certain mana.
That made me think, what are some of the non-basic cards that are getting worse with each expansion, preferably because of some reason like Malchezaar, where new cards make it useless or a burden to have a in a deck?

Any card that relies on an entire pool of cards is subject to this. I don't care to recall them all, but Spiteful Summoner is a huge one and very relevant right now. Malchezar was never a good card for what it's worth.
then again that's basically true of every Classic legendary except VanCleef, isn't it? like despite Paladin being a powerhouse for several expansions now, none of these decks ran Tirion Fordring, which is a beast of a card even with all the powercreep. you couldn't even run it with N'zoth around! it just doesn't fit anywhere anymore, I guess, you just either won or lost the game before it comes into play. I can't remember when's the last time Archmage Antonidas was a card except in Exodia either. stuff's gone crazy.

To your point, Spiteful got so much better with the pool of cards getting smaller in standard due to the rotation while it's power level is lower than ever in Wild with the full pool. Now that it's no longer summoning crappy Old Gods, it's become more reliable than ever.
Grommash Hellscream has shown up in some recent warrior decks: most of the ones which try to win through Woecleaver or Recruit will include him. Not all warriors, however. His niche as a potential finisher has, throughout the history of Heathstone, just not always been needed. For example, Justicar Trueheart Fatigue Warrior didn't run him or any other classic finishers.
I feel like the reason Tirion Fordring isn't good in Paladin right now is because there's so much silence. Tirion is weakened severely by it, changing to an 8-mana 6/6 with no effect if silenced. Meanwhile, The Lich King is an 8-mana 8/8 who draws you a Death Knight Card even if immediately silenced. Once Voidlords go away, silence might recede some, and Tirion may well come back strong.
But Prince Malchezaar was always kinda disappointing. I'd initially had decent hopes for him, since maybe by running him you could omit the late-game bombs in something like Control Warrior, while gaining in Fatigue and allowing you to put more removal in your deck. Didn't work out. Prince has always been too inconsistent.
Just starting a test now: How does Malchazaar interact with Baku if they're both in the same deck? So far, 4 games where I've had Baku trigger, three times with the Prince animation happening first, so either I've gotten lucky and Prince hasn't added Even cards, Prince won't add Even legendary minions, or Baku still triggers if Prince adds Even legendary minions. Obviously, 4 games is a small sample size, but still.

It was stated that Malchezaar always triggers after the effect of baku. So even if he adds even cards to the deck, Baku will trigger.
Sneed's Old Shredder comes to mind, because a lot of legendaries have strong battlecries and thus resulting in more plain 1/1, 2/2.... (And because of the existense of Wild Big Priest, there will be (way) less really strong neutral or priest legendaries like The Lich King....)

Lmao I can't imagine decks worse than even odd Malchezaar decks. As long as people have fun with it
Dr. Boom has been one of these types of cards for awhile now.
Most midrange decks have better options than him now.
N'Zoth prefers to rez deathrattles that actually matter a lot more than some dice row 1-4 damage Boom Bots, plus the Boom Bots are bad against control match-ups since they have very low impact against enemy N'Zoth, Gul'Dan, Hadronnox, & Giant boards.
Most cool big legendary is so shiit now. ONLY Syvanas will be always great.
WHO need big shiny legendaries when you can pull of broken combo from turn 4-5 and just snowball from there. Who need Ysera, Ragnaros to finish the game when your opponent going to re summon 4 doomguard and 2 voidloard the next turn while gain 5 armor and an OP hero power for the rest of the game?

Malchezaar animation sometimes happened first, but good to know they clarified it.

Rag is still great in Big Priest. I agree with Ysera though, that keeps getting pushed back more and more.
Prince Malchezar was always bad so nothings changed.
sadly every card that summons legendaries is pretty bad and Always will be
Golden Monkey is pretty good but probably because they made it very sure you only get good cards after putting so much time into one card.
No, played the card a ton awhile back and it couldn’t very clearly give you shit legendaries. Just generally a bunch of random legendaries are gonna be better than a bunch of dead cards in your hand.

I know but bad cards can get even worse lol

Well even if Onyxia or Malygos are not much used nowadays, I still find them as a great cards, even if no meta deck runs them.
Some stats:

Prince Malchezar was always bad so nothings changed.
Cards doesn't get worst each expansion but they are overwhelmed because of new cards provides too much value.
I mean, it depends on the reasons.

Evolve cards in some extent, while devolve potentially got better.
