No no no, 5 mana CTA will not do. That will kill the Even/Genn Paladin because it becomes unuseable, and actually BUFF Odd/Baku paladin, adding another powerful card to his already OP arsenal.
I think the nerf to Spiteful Summoner is too much. I think an interesting change would be: "Battlecry: Discard a random spell from your deck and summon a random minion with the same cost." I think it's more flexible since you could use it in decks that also have cheap spells just to discard those spells in late game.
Taunt Druid gets recked by Spiteful Druid and Spiteful Priest (especially the priest cuz of mind control) or mid-range decks like even paladin, rush warrior and miracle/tempo rogue.
Spiteful Priest and Druid gets often recked by fast aggro decks (even more now since historian is gone and you can't make more aoe dragons) i.e. odd paladin, odd hunter and by burn decks like crow mage.
Odd paladin and hunter are recked by Taunt Druid, Rush warrior and Cubelock.
Cubelock is recked by Taunt druid and Spiteful priest. Sometimes by Spiteful druid.
Mid-range decks are recked by Spiteful priest and druid.
I don't see no problems with the mentioned cards. Those cards are basically essencial for all of the mentioned archetypes. The meta is fine, with power leveled cards but pretty fine. All the current decks have their weakness and their strength.
EDIT: before you ask I do have all of the decks I mentioned and tested them since the expansion launch and yes I don't have a deck that wins me 100% of my games. I have to adapt to the current state of my meta gap and bounce between all of the decks when I see more opponents of a specific class.
The only one I don't really agree with is ballista shot. I think baku hunter sucks to be honest. It's an unhealthy archetype and if it were to be good, then ballista shot would need a nerf, don't get me wrong.
And I think cube is the wrong card to target when it comes to cubelock. I would love to see this nerf (especially with boring taunt druid also running it), but I feel like cubelock would need an additional nerf. I've heard suggestions to make pact also silence, which seems good, although cubelock would find other triggers. I guess I'd mostly want something to be done to skull aswell.
Stop complaining, play a tier 1 deck or play casual, simple as that. The nerfs are not needed, because we all know there is gonna be another meta where another card is too overpowered
Regarding the Cube, I also think that the problem is not the card itself, but the (obviously uncalculated) synergies with certain classes. Though I actually like the card as it is, I still like to discuss the mentioned ideas.
Adding the copies to your hand seems like a decent idea, but imo completely destroys the flavor of the card. (I imagine the minions being spitted out again on the board). Reducing the effect to one summoned copy and in turn improve the stats of the cube itself seems far more reasonable while actually being even more realistic in terms of flavor. (why two copies? It's called cube, not copycat)
That's what I'd vote for, should the need arise.
Though I doubt, that anyone at Blizzard will ever read this...
Cube should be 7 mana. It would make it a lot harder to destroy it the same turn you play it. Which would allow more interaction with silence
Call to Arms should be 5 mana. It's still not good in odd paladin.
Spiteful at 8 mana is probably fine.
Hunter hero power with Baku is fine imo.
Odd paladin change is interesting. I'm not sure what's needed there. I think Divine Favor may be a bigger issue. Level Up should probably cost 7 or else not give taunt. The weapon that gives all minions divine shield is a bit OP too. In general most Paladin cards are a little bit broken. Which is why is has outrageous win rates expansion after expansion.
No no no, 5 mana CTA will not do. That will kill the Even/Genn Paladin because it becomes unuseable, and actually BUFF Odd/Baku paladin, adding another powerful card to his already OP arsenal.
No.
Why do you think 5 mana CtA would buff odd pally? 4 mana summon 3 2-drops or 5 mana summon 3 1-drops are on a completely different power level in my opinion.
Sure it would be less good, but right now Odd Pally has no access to the card at all, so it is a buff however you look at it. And Even Pally would lose access. Every Even Pally on the ladder would drop the deck like a brick and switch to Baku decks, making that deck even more present and oppressive on the ladder. It is already more popular now than the Genn counterpart (despite not really being better) and this move would just cement that position.
I thought more diversity was the goal of these '''suggested'' nerfs, not less.
Spiteful Summoner's place in the meta is dependent strictly on the value and presence of high costing spells in a particular class. Having a good Spiteful deck rests on the basis that you only have high costing spells within the deck, restricting deck design and thus restricting the amount of tempo you can build in the early game because you don't have cards that can bring you back onto the board until turn 6, when you have Spiteful Summoner in your hand and 6 mana. Spiteful Summoner's power is dependent on good deck design, where the spells included are high value and have decent synergies with the deck you're running. Nerfing a card that is only good in a certain type of deck is ridiculous and there is no justification for it that I could even be bothered to hear.
I do somewhat agree with the Call to Arms nerf, however I feel that increasing the mana cost would pretty much take the card out of the meta, maybe making it 3 mana while taking 2 cards out would make it a little more balanced while not necessarily taking the card out of the meta.
In regards to Cubelock, I think that a lot of people forget that Cubelock is very very reliant on board clears and suffers against aggro decks. There are quite literally no good early plays in the first 3 turns for Cubelock besides Defile and that's only if you can draw it. Yes, Hellfire is very very good on turn 4, but it deals damage to your face as well and by the time you reach that turn you're already at below 20 hp if you're playing against any kind of tempo deck. Turn 5 is usually a Lackey or the Skull, however neither of these cards do anything the turns they're played and Lackey can be silenced. I feel like even the slightest change to the deck as it is would turn a lot of the close wins that Cubelock can pull out against Bakudins and Face Hunters into losses, with the difference between a win and a loss being a net gain of 2 or even 3 stars if you're on a win streak.
"It's only one week into the expansion and already Witchwood has made the game unplayable. Aggro is out of control, Cubelock is still bullshit, and Spiteful Summoner still exists. This expansion also created super powerful synergies with Taunt Druid since they can now make a shitload of Hadronoxes now. It's no secret there are a lot of changes needed, and fast. So I've come up with some quick balance changes that I think would make the game better as a whole, while not killing the cards being nerfed."
Basically, you want to nerf anything that is Tier 1, because they are good decks.
Stop crying and adapt.
Adapt by fighting fire with fire and just becoming more cancer? Cool solution.
Quite a few of these are things I've suggested in the past. The rest of them are very well though out, and dial back the powerlevel without removing the cards entirely. They also create new strategies, and help out archtypes that are more fun to play into. Hopefully they take notice and add some of them.
Hunter and odd hero power is nuts and needs tweaking. Having said that i really dont mind aggro dominating as i just run a control deck to counter them
You always have to ask yourself what would happen if the cards will be nerfed. It's fine to discuss and think about which cards are very powerful and how to fix them but you always have to keep in mind the repercussions. I can tell you for sure that the same people who complain about 'broken and insane cards/decks that should be nerfed' complain about other cards/decks that become insane after the nerf. You really have to ask yourself: Am I ready to accept the decks that become good? Am I ready for the new Quest Rogue/Highlander Priest/some other ridiculous bullshit meta?
The meta right now is really diverse. Yes, Paladin is too strong and may require a slight tweak. Although, I would say that I have not seen that many archetypes and classes being viable and playable. I'm really happy to see that the meta is more diverse than pretty much any meta since the Old Gods.
No no no, 5 mana CTA will not do. That will kill the Even/Genn Paladin because it becomes unuseable, and actually BUFF Odd/Baku paladin, adding another powerful card to his already OP arsenal.
No.
Nerfs done right. Blizzard will nerf some of them the wrong way. PS: cube nerf seems yet too powerfull.
I will crush you!

Want some fries to this salt OP? None of this cards need nerf.

Let’s just nerf everything u basically gutted expansion with those nerfs

Dark Pact should cost 2 mana, and only heal 6, that would slow down Warlock a lot imo.
