People calling nerfs to Doomguard is insane. The card is perfect as it is, and is essential to other Warlock Archetypes like Zoolock, Discolock or Demonlock.
Is has a balanced drawback because of it's overall Power in 5 attack-charge demon type.
Craziness to nerf Doomguard.
This guy understand.... You cant nerf card and kill almost all archetypes of warlock decks...almost all decks are using doomguard.. But only cubelock have lackey as core card... You just need to ner lackey and everything is good :)
P.S. if he wasn't a problem with voidcaller why would he be now... Lackey is only problem and thats it. End of story
Let me quote what I wrote recently about Cubelock, that means Dark Pact and - because it really fits - Possessed Lackey:
Possessed Lackey should have got "If it's your turn" OR "If it's your opponent's turn" added to its already existing effect. With the first change variant, playing him on turn 5 is basically rendered moot making him slower and with the second variant, any synergy with Dark Pact is gone and you are basically forced to give him tauntor buffs.
If that does not prove to be enough, I would also make Dark Pact kill a random friendly minion.
---
As you see, I would not touch Dark Pact before looking at Lackey...
warlock control tools are fine, this is the first time we can play a deck other than CW that doens' instantly die to aggro-spam face bumrush and has enough clear potential, the problem with this game will always be charge, nerf charge and we get the best of both worlds, aggro decks keep existing but we keep having control decks that keep them in check tha tdon't suddenly morph into facebumrush decks themselves.
Dark pact is fine. You sacrifice a minen, which is huge tempo loss, in normal circumstances. The problem (if there is any) is the cube, witch is pretty high value

I don't think you even read the opening post?
I explained the way it's being used is too much of a reward for tiny investment.
Look at Conceal and Ice Lance. The same people saying Dark Pact is fine, were saying those two cards were fine.. They ended up getting banned from standard because they allowed their classes too much potential to win the game in certain situations (like dark pact healing away from lethal, giving you a large minion that combos into something else which invests into bloodreaver guldan .......)
The thing I always go to for Cubelock related thoughts is that I don't necessarily mind the deck being a defensive powerhouse, but it shouldn't have easy access to burst, such as from Doomguards. Particularly not burst from Doomguards that we've had since Day 1 Hearthstone. I'm just tired of them. It's not necessarily just balance, but the fact that this is a card which has seen pretty much continual play in Warlock forever. The stats and charge for the mana cost are incredibly good. Folks have cheated around the downside with Voidcaller and Malchezaar's Imp (or just dumping hand in Zoo), and now there are four ways to cheat it out in Cubelock: Possessed Lackey, Skull of the Man'ari, Carnivorous Cube, and Bloodreaver Gul'dan. It's one thing for a deck to just build a wall of taunts and out-heal aggro. Fine, whatever. It's another thing when those decks also have potential to do 25 burst from hand.
Make Doomguard Rush or gain charge from the battlecry, like Spiked Hogrider, and also lower the stats to 5/6, or 5/5.

That's exactly why it should go. It's the Ice Block of Warlocks. We've had nearly four YEARS of Doomguard. Enough is enough.
A agree that WL has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many very good healing options to its disposal. Its so stupid, like the thing that most of the good WL cards are supposed to be "balanced" around is that WL takes some serious hits to his life, but with Spellstone and Dark Pact he just shrugs it off like nothing happened, reaping all the benefits and no downsides.

So true Sinti; which is why I made this thread. When you push lethal on a deck that can create taunt walls, heal so fast out of lethal range, while smashing you with 8/8 giants or a free 5/7 charge... you feel hopeless and the spark of fun is gone again lol.
It's excessive at least, and in balanced at most. Is a Card Game with 30 cards and 30 health. Such life gain is a semi-cheat for a deck that can do all the things Cubelock can do.
People calling cubelock a control deck, it's not. It's a hybrid of Midrange/Control with the burst potential of a combo deck (multiple 5 charge minions same time). I don't mind any of this, except the insane healing for no drawback.
I like the silence idea. I don't wanna lose the ability to Geist it.
Skulking Giest is a good option; but at 6 mana cost, you are at the same spot as the WL's Possessed Lackey + Dark Pact. So you can Geist x1 Dark Pact and then face a wall of taunts in the next couple of turns.

Making the "charge" keyword be a part of the battlecry would be a fair change for Doomguard imo. And yeah, obviously charge is broken in a game where your opponent has not many options to interact during your turn when you drop said minion.
I love playing Cubelock but this is the card that makes the deck almost unbeatable. If Warlock doesn't have such the health gain it would get steam rolled easier by aggro decks or not be able to as easily stabilise against heavy control decks.
Sanguine Reveler does the same thing except it provides more board control minus the health. Also Ratchatcher is now a thing which i prefer to dark pact on a turn 8 or greater cube
They might run it but they wouldn't run it INSTEAD of dark pack, dark pack is played because it gives life and it combos with cubes and possessed vilager

Fun.

Sanguine Reveler guys
K thanks.
"Do you smell something...burning?
It's not about the cost of this card, but much more the healing effect that come with that, since 8 health is actually a lot...
But you can't reduce the health by half because then it will look like just a worse Flash Heal
So I don't see any option that will not just make people play Sanguine Reveler instead of this.
It is perfectly fine. Even if you nerf it we can run:
Dark Possession for Possessed Lackey.
Yet again in Standart Sanguine Reveler / Ratcatcher / Unwilling Sacrifice / Void Terror / Ravenous Pterrordax / Shadowflame still exist.

The heal for eight is what puts it over the top.
What if Skull of the Man’ari pulls a demon at end of turn. Seems like an elegant solution.
