Nah, the card would actually be pretty meh if it didn't have lackey/Gul'dan to synergise with. IMO the strongest taunt of all time(in terms of the actual standalone card) is either Tirion, Tar Creeper or Sludge Belcher.
This could have been a decent thread but you started it in such a ridiculous manner haha.
I agree that Tirion Fordring is probably the best taunt of all time. Voidlord hasn't been around that long. And as people have pointed out a million times before, it's not Voidlord that's the problem; it's Possessed Lackey bringing him out on turn 5-6 haha. No other taunts really come to mind. I do know that if you silence the Voidlord (instead of Possessed Lackey), it's probably already too late because of cube shenanigans haha.
Also, Voidlord is a lot better to deal with now that N'zoth has rotated out. It allows midrange decks to succeed again, finally lol.

Yeah, I prefer Sludge Belcher. Can be played turn 5 and not need to have Lackey coin and activator. It is more annoying, but Belcher is faster and speed tends to be more important. It also feels really bad to waste a Transform effect on Belcher because you'll likely need it for something more powerful later. Voidlord not so much.
First: Voidlord is only so great because of the Demon-Tag. But compared to Obsidian Statue it's quite bad. Cube is a neutral card, so i don't think that counts. Only the demon-tag and the extreme support Warlock got in KaC for this archetype saved it from being a bad minion.
That's is not my logic, ready carefully without jumping into conclusions.
I didnt say it is 6/18.
I said it is 18 HP in total in 4 taunt bodies which is extremely difficult to clear.
Name me better 9 mana taunt
The thing is, the thing costs 9 mana. Control decks don't really care about you getting a 9 mana taunt that doesn't deal a lot of damage to face without any further synergy combos, and aggro decks will have you on 0 HP way before turn 9. Furthermore, I could name you way more broken cards that cost 9 mana, and barely saw any play compared to void lord, simply because you couldn't cheat them out early. Take a look at Big priest, and you can easily notice that, except BP can't really pull their bullshit turns half as consistently as warlock does.
yes. people are blaming possessed lackey and weapon but i remember it being pretty powerful before people where using both of those since people thought both those cards were terrible at first. minions that deathrattle more minions are already strong, and as you can see with spreading plague, multiple small bodies of taunt buy you time to get back in the game, or even just smorc your opponent because they can't trade with your minions since you have taunts in the way. i think it's o.p. at 10 mana. :D
