So I hear shaman got a little too much love this expansion?
Friendly disclaimer: Let me start off by saying this is not a thread for salt to get posted, it's a thread for people to suggest a possible rewording of the card that could make it more fair in the current meta.
So I was speaking with a few friends about how the card Shudderwock could be changed without completely rendering the card unplayable. We came up with two ideas(and I'd love to hear your ideas and thoughts.)
1.) The Shudderwock would only cast Shaman-class card battle-cries (with this option you wouldn't have the ability to shuffle more copies in your deck, or have multiple 1/1 versions back in your hand.)
2.) The Shudderwock casts the battlecries in the exact order they were played AND the effects from other cards such as Saronite Chain Gang and Primordial Drake activate as if Shudderwock was a seperate entity, thus creating a 2/3 taunt and causing Shudderwock to take 2 damage as a result.
Let me know what you think (in the most constructive way possible please I know the cards ridiculous but this is for solutions not QQ!)
Literally all they need to do is make it a deathrattle instead of a battlecry. Makes sense too, nzoth was battlecry for deathrattle, shudder should be deathrattle for battlecry.
It would still be played in some decks for sheer value, but would be way to slow for the cancer it is now.
I never said it needed to be nerfed tomorrow, I'm just posting my two cents about possible changes they COULD make.
I've actually enjoyed testing it myself tonight. Like I said, no salt about it, in my opinion the card just feels overpowered and I don't find it very satisfying to win like that personally. (See disguised toasts stream for a similar opinion from him about the card.)
It can't be a deathrattle for the same reason discover can't be a deathrattle: The chance it happens during your opponent's turn is there. HS's interface does not allow for complex stuff to happen to your opponent during your turn.
I honestly just think the Battlecry should read (after current text): "Remove all copies of Shudderwock from your hand and deck."
Done. The ones on the battlefield can stay and even be brought back the following turn, but at least the enemy has a chance to react and Grumble shenanigans are impossible.

Or they could change grumbles text from a battle-cry to a "at the end of your turn return all the minions on your side of the board to your hand" would that be enough?
I think the biggest problem with Shudderwock isn’t the Grumble shenningins, as the’yd never happen if you can’t clone shdderwocks, its saronite chain gang. I propose that the wording on Saronite Chain Gang should be changed to “summon a Saronite Chain Gang that is a copy of this minion” and dopplegangster subsequently changed as well. This makes it more complex, while not removing CG’s other effects (like duplicating val’nyrs).
Yeah, this could work - I think it's a little similar to what I was trying to say in my idea - but I didn't think about changing the taunt's text itself.
But if the taunts text was the only thing to change, then wouldn't people just abuse the "reshuffle this minion" mechanic with the new 2/2 epic, or use the 2/2 legend to copy a minion back to hand?
u sure haven't watch the twitch stream yet right dude? Go ahead and take a look, i think no one likes to wait for 20 minutes to half an hour for a single turn to complete. The card shouldn't have passed the test phase.

Honestly, Shudderwock can only be nerfed reasonably is making it cost 10. Other than that, if it was nerfed worse, like if it only did five of the battlecries, then it would fade from existence.

Yay! The meta everyone loved is back, unbeatable control vs hyper aggro. Fond memories of pirate warrior and renolock. No salt here though, I love hyper aggro, cool that it may be a thing as midrange seem to be fodder.
It's not about counters, this card is real cancer. This is like Raza Priest all over again, killing control and slow decks, and there is no tech cards (like Dirty Rat). Keep the "ehhhh if you can't win against the "slow" combo deck play aggro to counter 😂" to yourself.
About this thread, for me it's kinda difficult to say how it should be nerfed this card, because i think that Shaman should have a good deck this months, but this is not the healthy way. Maybe this card should be re-worked, but i don't want to kill it.

I like either of those. Anything other than what they did would be fantastic.

Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
Cap battlecries at like 5 instead of 75 and we're good.

Did they ninja nerf it? I just played Shudderwock and it triggered every battlecry except for the Grumble.
Edit: I might have played grumble before I played chain gang.... otherwise everything else lined up for the combo to work.
Easy, move Chain Gang to HOF and make Lifedrinker a class card or a deathrattle.
