Many times before today I've commented on how warrior missing a turn 3 rush minion is arguably the main missing piece in tempo rush warrior. My reasoning for this is that before now, tempo rush warrior has had a very solid curve on almost every other turn apart from turn 3, which is arguably its most important turn to be able to curve out on. An example ideal curve was this:
Nothing, or at least not a rush minion, leaving the woodcutter's axe hanging and missing its deathrattle if you need to use it to clear their 2 or 3 drop,
Before this we've had rush minions that cost 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. A 3-cost has been very conspicuously absent, to the point where I was beginning to wonder whether Blizzard were intentionally avoiding a 3-drop rush minion in order to avoid tempo rush warrior having too strong a turn with woodcutter's axe expiring on 3 to buff the 3-drop rush. Now we have this, and a 3/3 rush for 3 is objectively solid too. I love this card because of its implications in tempo rush warrior.
My problem with these warrior cards is that they're just too fair. They're all fine, some are even good. But they all push a tempo/midrange deck, which is a deck type that hasn't been good since the Patches & Creeper nerf.
And here is the 3-cost Rush minion I was hoping for. Woodcutter's Axe curves straight into this, opening up a bunch of solid tempo moves for Warriors. I'm not yet convinced Warriors will return to relevancy this Year, but I am convinced they have a shot now.
The problem with the rush deck is it all starts out good but unless there is some late game finisher they’ll run out of steam against the greedy late game decks out there like warlock or spiteful. If there was some 8+ mana card that synergized with rush or something than maybe, like Nzoth with deathrattle. But I just see rush decks just doing well for the first five turns, then getting AoEd or out valued in the late game without putting enough pressure to finish the opponent off. It does seem like it’ll do well against aggro though. Maybe this is the counter to paladin
Lol. This is one of the best rush minions in the deck you can get from town crier. You don't want big things because you want to draw stuff to be able to play on-curve, e.g. this card. And if you have woodcutter's axe in hand, it's by far the best minion you can draw from crier.
And also that is the only 3 mana rush card available for warrior, so the best tempo curve is town crier 1, woodcutters axe2, and rabid worgen for 3, by the time the weapon dr effect happens its realisticly a 5/4 rush minion, which is much better turn3 play than many other.
This is the rush card warrior was missing. Control should be perfectly fine with town crier x2, rabid worgen x2, militia commander x2, and Darius. It compares to bash (even though you don't get armor) which was good and if you hit it with the woodcutter's axe then its a very good turn 3 play. In CW rush is good because the minions are basically removal spells and will allow you to keep the board till you start dropping big bois. I think this card (while not amazing) is what solidifies the inclusion of the rush mechanic in warrior. We also need to keep in mind that this is the first xpac of the year and we will more than likely get other strong rush minions in the future.

i love your goomy avi btw
kisses are a better fate than wisdom
This really isn't great. 3/3 just doesn't feel strong enough to make a big difference.
Boy I’m sure glad to see warrior is getting the love it deserves. /s
solid nothing else
Seems decent, but nothing too exciting, at least it's a 3 cost rush minion which comes after the axe.
This is a hugely important card.

boring but prolly good tempo, will prolly be able to kill their 2 and survive the turn.

It's a decent turn 3 rush minion which I think the rush style warrior deck was missing, now it can use this.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
You don't want get it with town crier, bad.

Minion's good, archetype's just a little weak when it comes to finishers. How does rush warrior ever best voidlord?
