does a tempo minion based mage have enough support to see play? probably not but an expansion or two from now it'll be a powerhouse if the devs stick with it
Calling it early: Spiteful Mage with limited big spells (e.g 2 Dragon's Fury and 2 Pyroblast) with a ton of elemental synergy and spectral tome is going to be a really common deck in the first couple weeks. Not sure how it will stack up in the meta, but it could do some really brutal things with only a couple new cards.
It's like cheaper Chromaggus for minions. Its okay, but nothing too spectacular. Need to combo with Arcane Intellect on the same turn, othervise opponent will just remove it. Might see play in elemental mage with jaina maybe?
And we still have five more Mage cards to support this. If we get another minion tutor anywhere near Town Crier... hoo boy. When Blizz said they had "fun new ideas for Mage" to replace Ice Block rotating, I did not expect this.

kisses are a better fate than wisdom
Good card.. The art look like a warlock card

Oh god obvious synergy with the new book. 6 draw combo ftw!
Seems absolutely insane with Book of Specters
Chromdog 2.0
Well here's some synergy for Book of Specters. This should be an interesting road for mage to go down. Elemental fiesta.
Such a big downer... I was expecting a lot of crazy battlecry's like rogue...nothing fancy.
Auto include to any mage deck.
A better Chromaggus
Damn thats good, just imagine the elemental that gets armor when you cast a spell...and even Exodia Mage...god what a good card.
So smaller, more limited Chromaggus? Seems playable. This and Dollmaster Dorian... insane value.

Minion mage growing in power...
Chromaggus? Is it you?
This should be a lot better though, if you just get 1 extra minion this is like a 2 mana 2/2 battlecry draw a card, which is good.
Play this in a elemental mage or something, and it should be good.
But why push minion mage? Seems weird
Leyline Manipulator and this with Book of Specters
Elemental Mage getting a lot of love here.
So, basically they want MAGE to play with less SPELLS. LuL i like it, although i ll miss old good Fireballing face FTW
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

An extra copy of Toki, Time-Tinker. Yes, please.
