In a silence and transform heavy meta this card is more of a liability when played then not. Outside of that meta if you play this card almost a sure thing that you'll still have something on your board to buff up or something.
Reminds me of Wobbling Runts. Huge Stats total, but bad bodies overall. Won't see play in Constructed, I think Violet Wurm is the better neutral 8-Mana Deathrattle, but good Arena card.
Sure Violet Wurm is more stats (14/14 for 8 vs 12/12 for 8) but Wurm is a lot easier to deal with, because you have only one set of deathrattles vs two, and a board of 1/1s dies to anything, whereas 2/2s might not.

This will probably go in a standard illusionist rogue deck featuring Kobold Illusionist
Big Rogue is almost a thing in wild these days too. The bones are there, I'm not sure if they're strong enough yet.
well the thing why big rogue hasn't made it in standard is because there are no worthy illusion targets, no rag, no sylvannas, no kel'thuzad, no no sneeds, you only have lich king and ysera which while decent,a r enot enough to carry a whole deck, big rogue needs more threats in standard and a sticky minion thta keeps generating itself counts as one, particularly if you're able to get an Umbra Combo spawning multiple illusionists
Great if it can be cheated out (eg Coffin Crasher) due to the extreme value and stickyness. Pretty weak as an on curve 8 mana play because it's so slow though.

Wurm is a 7/7 initially, this one is a 4/4. People might just ignore it because it poses no threat. 8 Mana is a lot, most of the time playing this card will be the only thing you do in that turn. This card gives your opponent way too much opportunity to hit face.
Any card with taunt that doesn't threaten lethal next turn "gives your opponent way too much opportunity to hit face." That doesn't make Goldshire Footman a good card, for example.

Wrong. Big stats can't be ignored too long.
You have a point but we're not in pile-o-stats curvestone anymore. The other downside of Violet Wurm is that it's really difficult to get the full benefit of the deathrattle because of board space. Splitting Festeroot won't have that problem.

This card isn't bad (I'm not saying is good either) but as warlock will continue to be the king of the meta, and probably by faaaaar as is the class losing less of their deck defining cards and winning some other strong replacements, the upcoming meta will almost guaranteed be plagued with silence techs and playing an 8 mana 4/4 is just game losing af, this is an arena card, just sticky af and with its current state you can't afford to play around it, even if you draft a silence holding it on hand is not an option.
Super sticky, but previously most decks that wanted sticky minions were pretty agressive, they wanted to see hit opponent dead long before turn 8. Would a midrange deck want such a sticky minion? If if any would, there is Violet Wurm that's just better and not as susceptible to silence.
This is really slow, but so much value. Cards like Haunted Creeper have been really good solely because you have to deal with so many different things separately. This probably won't see play in constructed, but a very solid arena card for sure.
One of the best cards to cheat out as a 1/1, but that's about its only quality. No deck can afford to play a 4/4 on turn 8 that needs to die multiple times before you get any payoff, unless there is some deck that can nearly guarantee a win on the following turns if it can just stick a minion on the board.
I'm not necessarily saying this card is good. At all. But, the comments about it do remind me of prerelease Voidlord. (9 mana, 3/9 doesn't contest the board enough, and the Voidwalkers dilute the DK, too slow won't see play.) So, we'll see!
Maybe it has some potential in big Rogue as it synergises with both Silver Vanguard and Kobold Illusionist, but N'Zoth, the Corruptor will also rotate soon...

Holy crapola this is A+ card design. Such a neat card.
The value is obviously insane but an 8 mana 4/4 and not even taunt? I don't see it unless you cheat it out for less mana.
To think there was a time when people were concerned about too many sticky minions

If you cheat this out, it's dirty. Otherwise, garbage.

Seems decent with Dollmaster Dorian.
