on turn 7 against aggro you are almost dead and this card wont help you anymore and if you are in front you win anyway
worst top deck against control and generaly bad against controll
bad on turn 7 with midrange because they have bigger stuff
agreed. I think this can only be played in some kind of hand deck that is drawing through it's cards. Possibly playable in Druid, warlock, maybe mage with the new draw cards. and possibly rogue or warrior. It's also possible to draw pretty heavily in Paladin with the right build... it may be a card for control paladin as well.
On top of existing cancer Dudeadins and Cubelock remnants, if token Hand/Druid is a thing with Wispering Woods and Witchwood Apple along with existing cards, this is a counter. Also,
There's some potential. Voted playable but I can see this is a staple for the next two years in slower decks. Potentially clearing the board and sticking a minion on the board should not be ignored.
The more I theorycraft, the more this becomes my favorite card in the set!
This card shits on aggro, void babies and spreading plague, basically everything that annoys the fuck out of me, whats not to like? This card can almost single-handedly make inner fire priest a tier 1 deck, really excited to try it out.
neutral Shadow Word: Horror? I don't know, maybe ok in like some druid deck as a one-of. But if Corrupted Seer didn't see play, then this probably won't.
Corrupted seer was a Volcanic Potion + 3 mana for an additionnal 2/3 minion.
This is a shadow word horror + 2 mana for a 2/7 minion.
Is a 2/7 for 2 better than a 2/3 for 3 ? Yes, definitely. We can easily conclude that this is better than corrupted seer.
Will this see play outside of arena though ? Difficult to predict, very meta-dependant.
Mossy Horror counters dude pala fairly well, but nothing else really that currently exist. In the right meta it might see play, but I don't really see it tbh.
Great tech card if token aggro remains a thing and for when it inevitably returns. Also interesting as a standard card in control pally as it combines well with Aldor Peacekeeper and the weird possibility of seeing Humility.
Unfortunately, it's 6 mana and not 5 mana (with a smaller body), meaning it isn't a strict counter to Call to Arms, and 50/50 chance it'll beat Sunkeeper Tarim to the punch. And that's the problem... at 6 mana it may be too late in the game to really do enough.
It's good cards like this exist. It does give us a tool if a certain archetype goes out of control in the meta. I'm just not sure at 6 mana it'll impact the board soon enough. Will have to see.
Absolutely love this card, never enough AoE targeted at aggro and paladin. In wild this will be a great tech card against aggro paladin terminal cancer. 2 mana more than Shadow word: horror, with a 2/7 body for trading even more minions away. A good inclusion with the new White Lady priest legendary.
That's fringe tech card in Standard at best. Without Pint-Size PotionShadow Word: Horror was horrible, remember? It comes 2 turns later and doesn't trade with anything that may be on the board on turn 6. If all you face are Silver Hand Paladins, it may be ok, but in a broader meta there is no place for such a card in a competitive deck.
Stampeding Kodo has seen occasional play in the past. This is comparable in stats, so you're roughly paying one extra mana for a global effect.
Is that better? I'm leaning towards not in the general case. Effects that target small minions become worse later on in a game, you'll have fewer targets and killing those small minions become less important. This type of card also has significant synergy with effects that lower the attack of enemy minions, and there are more cards that lower the attack of single minions rather than multiple minions.
However, I still think this may see niche play as a tech card against particularly swarmy decks, such as Dude Paladin and Aggro Druid, for classes that lack better alternatives.
I don't think it will see play in standard format, because of the high mana cost. It's a nice board clear, but too late - by that time most aggro decks will have higher attack minions. That's the biggest drawback for Corrupted Seer as well and he doesn't see a lot of play already.

Aggro decks will hate this. Mana cost seems high though.

Dies to Shadow Word: Horror.

you can still take out some big bois with a Twilight Acolyte set up
Really cool card, thanks blizz.

Pour the salt, rub the salt, lick the salt.
Hmm... destroys all card it is good against and no taunt. Still like it. 2 mana for a 2/7 seems legit -1 mana for 2 card in one... 1 mana 2/7 hmm

Any type of board clear is powerful. This should find a spot in most control decks. Great against any aggro deck.
Twilight Acolyte, Primordial Drake, Ysera, Duskbreaker, Lady in White Fits decent with combo deck. There will probably be more dragons to be released.
The body is terrible but it DESTROYS aggro! Huzzah!!!
So long wild aggro paladin.
