Even if you discard a single spell, this card is pretty good for the mana cost. Still, it requires a minion heavy mage to support it. I could see it being a popular arena card. Minion heavy mage, even with elemental synergy seems weak. Guess we will see what other cards mage gets.
I'm gonna go one step further and say this card is meta defining, because like Spiteful Summoner, you will go out of your way to build your whole deck around it. Whether or not that deck is strong will entirely be dependent on the meta and remaining cards, but I don't think 'midrange no-spells mage' is too far from reality.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
so what if mages used a lot of spells in the lastest decks? it doesn't mean mage can't use minion based decks.. old mech mage would love this card for example!
This is insane. Auto include for Wild Reno Mage. They play spells but most of their powerful effects like Reno, Kazakus and Jaina aren't. If you only play 5-10 spells you will draw 2.5 cards on average which is busted for 2 mana. Cards like Arcaneologist and Scientist help thin your deck of spells before firing this off too.
The class this was given to is called mage. What do mages do? Cast spells!
Every deck must always play the same way! If I told you 9 months ago that priest would play a keleseth deck, you would have called me a liar, and also told me that keleseth was an awful meme card.
haha I love this card! Look at the ratings we all gave it. Pretty much even across the board. Basically, the community has no idea if this card is good or not. Which is fun, because we (over-all) didn't disagree with each other much on card power level. This one is a complete X-factor. Drawing three cards for 2 is extremely strong.. but which what minions?? A bunch of neutral wankers? I don't know that it's worth having that deckbuilding restriction in Standard, but perhaps in Wild the card pool is deep enough for this to be very strong..? Just like how many licks it takes to get to the bottom of a Tootsie pop, the world may never know...
Perhaps decent for Wild Mech Mage? Frost Lich Jaina synergizes too well with Polymorph and various damage spells to drop them in favor of this card, and Elemental mage doesn't have any problems with card draw. You can use an Arcane Intellect and even Coldwraith if you want instead.
Interesting. Control decks really can't use it since losing even one AoE card is devastating, but it may be possible to make an aggressive minion-based deck in Mage. Even if you end up discarding once on average every time you use this, it's still draw 2 for 2 mana, which is insane.
This will be broken some expansions down the road. If they make another broken minion synergy package like the dragons from Blackrock Mountain set then you got yourself a tier 1 mage deck.

I know what you are saying, but who wants to play mage with very few spells? Spells are fun... So fun. I tried that priest deck with four spells and it's so boring I switched to control priest, despite being the weakest of the three.

Maybe Dollmaster Dorian + Book of Spectres (and also Aluneth) is what Elemental Mage needed to shine. Plenty of 1/1s. Jaina approves.

Seems good for getting to that needed DK of weapon. I need elemental deck, ya. Otherwise, playable.
because keleseth is for when you want to kill yourself with fatigue.
Zoo mage!

This looks like a card for wild. Mage is looking bad so far.

Would this card be any good in Mech Mage?
