Last I checked Starfire is a Druid card and Druid has better options. This isn't 5 mana "sometimes draw a card," it's 5 mana "sometimes draw a specific card." Huge difference.
Druid lacks for single target removal much more than Priest does. Saying that, so does Paladin, and Hammer of Wrath still never sees play. I simply don't see a situation happening often where you're going to spend 5 mana to kill that one specific minion you need so badly? It just isn't going to be a common occurence and people are valuing the 'steal' mechanic of this more than it's worth in my opinion.

Druid has the spellstone, probably the best cost::damage single target removal in the game. Paladin has Aldor Peacekeeper as well, and Equality + Cons/Pryo. Not to mention, Druid and Paladin have other class synergies and generally look to do something entirely different than Priest.
Once again, this isn't merely draw a card, it's draw a specific card. If Hammer of Wrath was 4-mana 3 damage and "Draw Tirion" it would most definitely be played.

You're all overrating this card so much, I find it genuinely confusing. It's 5 mana 4 damage (already mediocre) and SOMETIMES draw a card that is likely worse than drawing a card from your own deck, and it can't go face if need be? How is this better than Starfire, which does 1 damage more for 1 mana, has a better effect, and yet never sees play...anywhere.
Would maybe MAYBE be a one of in a Reno Priest, and given those don't even exist now, well, no. Won't see play in 2-3 months. Could well be wrong, of course, but I am definitely not seeing this crazy strong Priest card that people are complaining about. Priest doesn't exactly struggle for single target removal.
I fully agree.
Many people just evaluate cards on the best case scenarios and then this card is obviously good. Sometimes you will have to kill minions that do not fit your playstyle (e.g. kill a murloc warleader) or you cannot kill them at all but you need to prepare an AoE in the next turn, in which case this is just a severe tempo loss. On average, I think this card will not get enough value to make it playable. Plus it lacks the flexibility to use for face damage.

Would you like to discuss the Priest cards which don't deal face damage but are extremely strong in Priest? We can do that if you want.
Killing Murloc Warleader is a very relevant play, and sometimes you can't remove it directly because it's been buffed to 4/4 (hitting both the 4-attack blind spot for removal and the "greater than 3 health" blind spot for Duskbreaker).
So best case scenario this card is great. What's the worst case scenario? Top decking this late game? There probably aren't a lot of cards you want to be topdecking in situations like that, but that doesn't make them bad cards. So what's the 'average' case scenario? Getting a guaranteed copy for turn 5 via Shadow Visions? Drawing this sometime between turns 4 and 8? I think the card's strength then will be determined by what competitive archetypes result for Priest and what cards will fill the 5-drop spot with Drakonid Operative rotating out.
tl;dr WE'LL SEE.

No-face damage is a priest core identity, I guess. Nevertheless, compared to Starfire and Hammer of Wrath it is a relevant loss in application flexibility.
Removing a murloc warleader for 5 mana is not great. It might be relevant, but it is still too expensive. If killing a 4/4 murloc warleader is your whole turn 5, then you likely have a big problem with the remaining minions on board. And while the 3/3 minion is still okay to play, it will not have great synergy with the rest of your deck.
The best case scenario is killing something lategame relevant like a tirion. The worst case scenario is something like using it to proc a divine shield to kill the tirion with a minion that is strong enough. And I expect the average scenario to give you a non synergistic minion that you can play but will not improve your position. What it always will be is a tempo loss.

But I agree with your tl;dr: We will see.
The win condition vs Murloc Paladin is simply to survive and exhaust them of resources/stabilize the board. If spending an entire turn to kill off a single Warleader helps achieve that goal, then it is entirely worth it.

This card, much like Entomb, will wreck control lists and usher in a new age of aggro decks just to not have to deal with this card. I hate this card already.
Start making a wild deck. In my case I won't deal with the aggro in standard, better stay in wild will all my clearboards and heals.
Lol 12 of my 18 decks are wild decks. I'm mostly worried about this card in wild. My only hope is that it's not useful enough overall but this would destroy some of my favorite decks to play if it is good.

I disagree. Alone, this doesn't actually kill that much that you want to steal, and does trigger deathrattles. This doesn't fit in control. This fits best in a midrange-y tempo-y deck with solid board presence, which would be dragon priest.. but that wants synergies, and is losing a lot fo core to rotation, so we'll have to see if it gets good replacements.
And I disagree with this. Much like you have to play around your minions having 1 health vs Control Mage, you'll have to play around your minions having 4 or less health vs a Priest who has this in hand. Maybe not as punishing, but it will still be a consideration when you make trades in a control matchup.
Somehow im thinking Ressurect Big Priest will like to use this card.
The whole argument about this card is whether it'll be an aggro meta or control meta. Obviously this card is unplayable in an aggro meta, in a control meta this card is insane. It'll really just depends on what ends up being the tier 1 decks and how control priest lines up against them.
If the meta is too fast or control priest doesn't have enough tools after the rotation then yeah of course this card won't see play this expansion, but it's got 2 years and will be revisited.

best scenario: Amara trade > survive > holy water = free another 40 health
good scenario: vs priest holy water Duskbreaker / vs hunter holy water Huffer

Stealing a Shudderwock, Lord Godfrey, Rin, the First Disciple or basically any other control deck's finisher card/s is a huge boost in value while still being a removal card.
