Woodcutter's Axe will be great if Tempo Warrior is viable. Coin this out on turn 1, play Redband Wasp on turn 2, go face with the axe and trade with the wasp and you're looking at a 6/3 on turn 2. It's also got great synergy with Darius Crowley when you need him to kill something with high health the turn you play him.
Some people on the Reddit have been saying it gives it in hand like Hand-Buff? Is that true?
I never thought otherwise. Wouldn´t make sense on the board.
Pretty sure it's in play, if it were in hand it wouldn't need to specify "friendly".
That said as a deathrattle you can fairly easily control what it lands on. So in that sense it's better than in hand since you may have multiple rush minions in hand it would be harder to target a specific card.
I like it. It's no FWA on power level but it trades most 1-2 drops and buffs board. It's still insane tempo on T2.

Wut? What about Powermace or Glaivezooka? They buff things on the board. It's not explicitly stated anywhere, that the minions in your hand will get the buff.

As said - very good weapon, that will make tempo based warrior deck with rush minions that much better. After the nerf of Fiery War Axe - this one is a suitable replacement.

I love that warrior have a pretty solid turn 2 weapon again, although the difference between 3 attack and 2 attack is enormous. All the OP 1-drops are 1/3s. This does better against cubelock to clear early librarians and mistress (although mistress is rotating and will likely be replaced in many decks by plated beetle, which this weapon is bad against). Minions in all the meta priest decks have 3 health minimum. This is a great tool against both murloc and dude paladin, though.
The ideal new tempo warrior play will be to play and use this on the opponent's 1 or 2 drop on turn 2, play a 3-mana rush minion on 3 and use the last hit of the weapon, buffing the rushing 3-drop for a dominating tempo opener. So a playable rush 3-drop will be one crucial element which tempo warrior potentially will need in the upcoming meta, imo. Currently warrior have Redband Wasp, Militia Commander, and Darius Crowley, a 2, 4, and 5-drop! It's like blizzard have made the same analysis as me and are trying to prevent tempo warrior from having too strong a tempo play across turns two and three. I really hope there does end up being a good rush 3-drop. Warrior need every push they can get to become playable again.
The awkward thing is that it's a turn 2 play. If you play it and attack, til now, the best rush cards are crawley at 5 and commander at 4.so if u play it turn 2, u need to pass at least a turn without attacking to use it on maximum power
Very good, obviously. Playing this without the buff is a good enough. Playing it with the buff is fantastic. The tempo warrior deck is very cohesive with lot of strong synergy. The only thing holding it back from being a sure thing is warlock.
Woodcutter's Axe is bonkers - coin it out on turn 1 and you could be looking at turning Redband Wasp into a 2 mana 6/3 on turn 2. It's also obviously great alongside Darius Crowley to get his starting statline up to curve so he can trade more favorably the turn he's played and really let him snowball. May not be metadefining on its own, but it's a really powerful tool for Tempo and Control warrior decks.
This is a great card, and I really hope they make "rush warrior" a thing. It'd be a new, good aggressive deck for warrior players. I'd love to try it out.
You're right, it very much is. I'm really hopeful that tempo warrior will be viable. I'm already playing an extremely memey tempo warrior with Grimy Gadgeteer, Drakkari Enchanter, Stolen Goods, and the only taunts in the deck being Saronite Chain Gang, one Alley Armorsmith, one Tar Creeper and The Lich King. It also runs Geosculptor Yip because of armorsmith and enchanter. It's got amazing synergies and cross-synergies and actually does fairly well at around rank 5 against all the top meta decks.
I'm sad that most of this deck of mine is rotating and will definitely find a way to make a new tempo warrior work.
Not sure if the whole "rush" package is good enough to play this weapon. There should be at least two good targets for the buff. Standalone, it is a bit too weak. Even though weapons with 2 attack are not as useless as they used to be (Stormforged Axe hasn't been used in years), they tend to come with more immediate upsides, like Unidentified Maul, Jade Claws and Blood Razor.
Theoretically speaking, the weapon is quite alright, but in practice, it might not be good enough.
I also find it a bit shameless, that this was likely designed around the time Fiery War Axe was discussed for nerfs, At least it's just a Common.

I might take some flak here, but tempo warrior is actually starting to shape up.
Its actually not a bad card at all. a 2/2 weapon for 2 mana is ok, with an effect to push for board control is good.
think it will see play, but its a bit meh and needs a certain deck.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Okay. Enough for tempo rush Warrior? Maybe
Them taking Warrior & Hunter's Charge class ID and copy pasting with Rush is mega lame.
It's a different keyword & mechanic, it should have different classes. Heal, Lifesteal, and Armor are different. So should Charge and Rush.
Class Identity is bleeding too much in Hearthstone.

You guys need to stop saying this is good in tempo warrior there is NO tempo warrior.

Well, when FWA got nerfed people ask blizzard why not make it 2 mana 2/2 and here is it
Worse than FWA but still pretty decent card,at least this will make the red wasp playable
This card single-handedly gets me excited about playing tempo warrior.
Now that Warrior has got a Rush-themed weapon, I wonder if Rogue gets an Echo-themed one.
