Nope, I don't think it overrated. Intel IS extremly important, and is a point for playing Mindvision - even though that card is suboptimal. This one? It is clearly superior minus the fact, that it isn't a spell itself.
- You can play it, in the very worst case, as a 1/1
- you can choose when to use it. Not getting a coin from your opponent at the start of your turn. Sure, you can't plan around it, since it changes every turn, but... Still, you can decide to use that Firelands Portal in the right moment
- it is never a 'dead' card, simply wait until it becomes better. It qualifies as a tech card, but vs all kind of decks.
You don't use it to replace your AoEs (I wouldn't anyway). So, vs aggro there shouldn't be a great change - and even some aggro cards could be copied generate a lot of value.
For me, card has really interesting mechanic and art :) but the question I would ask first is: Do you really want to store it each turn in hand to check your opponent cards? Cause if you do, you will reduce possible moves you can perform each turn. Of course sometimes this card can copy useful card which we can play instantly but there goes the hard part: use it or leave it on hand just to gain another information about opponents hand... We also need to be aware of copying useless card.. => however you get information but as said previously - less moves to perform this turn. Generally card is pretty pretty good. What I really like the most about it is that you don't play it cause you have enough mana for it but you also have to make hard decisions, probably decisions that will make you win/lose game. :)
Yea, I kind of agree with this. It might be a great card to have, but it's not going to always work in your favor. So you can see that your opponent has certain cards that he's going to kill you with, but this doesn't give you a way to stop it. You may have some information about your opponents hand, but doesn't help much if your dead. What is this card going to give you in a control match up? A really good card? You'd probably most times be better off with that card instead. So this is like a draknoid Operative, but you don't have a choice of 3 cards, you only have a choice of 1 card at a certain time. Making that card work at said time, which is a coin flip, I'd say is going to be fairly difficult, if not too hard to consider replacing another card in the deck.
Good card, I don't think it's the best we've seen yet.
I expected to get an argument regarding secret mage, but I was talking about burn decks in general.
And I want to disagree. You are kinda taking for granted, that you will always have the needed tools to deal with them and thus the needed time to scout their hand. This isn't the reality however. Playing to survive is the win-condition. I'm on the clock, I don't have many possibilities to prolong the game. And every card (the Chameleon), which replaces the heal or the AoE in my hand, just narrows my chances to win. The card is super slow, which isn't what I want against aggro.
[edit] Drawing too. Remember, that mage can use Counterspell if you want to fish for something good. Pala can use Divine Favor, if you don't find your Chameleon to be helpful against their board and try to draw cards, so that you find a clear.
Flavourwise...why does he turn into spells aswell again?! but whatever...
I think this is another overrated Priest card. This needs to sit in your hand for 1 Turn after you draw it so especially vs aggro this often blocks a whole turn like Zerus.
Also what Priest has already too much and doesnt weant more is inconsistency and situational cards.
If meta gets like super slow maybe but i realy doubt it.
Card won't see play, because you're going to want to hold it in your hand!
I don't know, turn 2, no playable card in your hand, Chameleos displays a 2 drop. Do you play the 2 drop ? I think you do.
My point is, sometimes you want to keep it in your hand the whole game, but sometimes you HAVE to play it.
you are picturing an aggro style, u dont need to play something just to play on curve when u run Priest
It depends what kind of deck you're playing, what class you're up against and the board state. I'm sure you've lost games as priest because you had nothing on 2, don't lie to me
that actually made me smile cause its true, ive seen some tempo plays on turn 2 that disrupt my gameplans entirely.
Cool card, but generally you want to know what the opponent /doesn't/ have in his hand. He doesn't have AoE, flood the board. He doesn't have silence or removal, go greedy. But this only tells you one card he /does/ have.
Love it, will be very interesting to see it played.
VERY interesting card. I dont think is meta definning but I can see how some priest decks will really want this! Seems like a fun effect, i really want to build around ti.
oh look at that another strong card....which class does it go to? oh that's right, priest.....as we all know priest needs a helping hand right now. (yes sarcasm). welp from what i've seen so far it's still going to be priest and warlock heads and shoulders above the rest as they seem to be getting all the better cards still. lol

Best card if the set.
then again, I thought Zerus was good
Good card. 100% better Shifter Zerus
You can read your opponent's card every single turn. If anything its just a spy card into your opponent's hand that can be played for value.
Good ability, but legendary? Hmmhmmm

It is a great utility card, but it should have been neutral. The high skill cap is going to drive even more players into Priest.
Nice Zombeast!
I think this is a priest staple maybe? This is good.
People say this is bad . On average the cards your opponent is playing should be good .
Not only this reads your opponent's hand but chances are you can actually play it as a good card too . Not comparable to pure randomness like zerus
the forgotten epics
Junkbot Frost Giant Luckydo Buccaneer Sea Reaver Darkspeaker Mini-Mage Blubber Baron Captain's Parrot Magnataur Alpha

But he can get it from any other card that give random beast

This guy said it aswell and I completely agree.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
This is actually dust.
