It might work in quest pally, but other than that, no. It also works with Lynessa obviously . But in the currently viable paladin archetypes it has no place.
Oh and by the way, if Lynessa casts this on herself, the echo effect does trigger right? So if you cast this spell say 6 times in one game (which is not even that unreasonable) do you get 6 echo copies?
Now, obviously this card is good in quest paladin, and in arena, where anything that can plug in mana gaps is appreciated. In constructed though, for most paladin decks? This card is trash. Divine Strength actually gave you good stats for the mana cost, and it was never played, so "Divine Strength, except now the value for mana is garbage, and you can play this shitty spell repeatedly" is definitely not seeing play. Let's just look at the possibilities.
Possibility 1: You play it once. So you kind of played a 1/2 charge for 2 mana. If blizzard printed that minion, it would never see play in a million years. It's bad. You can say "It's better than no buff!", but in Constructed you don't compare cards to nothing. You compare cards to other cards. For the same deck slot, you could just put in any two-drop minion and get better value for 2 mana. Yes, even River Crocolisk. It has 1/1 more stats than what this card gives!
Possibility 2: You play it twice! You gave a minion +2/4. Basically you played a worse Velen's Chosen, except you don't get the spell damage and it comes on turn 4, where +2 attack is MUCH weaker. On top of that, you could just put Blessing of Kings, an actual good card, into your deck instead of this.
Possibility 3: Three times! +3/6. It's like Power Word: Tentacles, except +1/1 and 1 more mana. Oh, Power Word: Tentacles never saw play and was laughed at when revealed? Well shoot. Also at this point you could just play Spikeridged Steed instead, which gives more than double the stats.
Possibilities involving spending 8+ mana: If you play ANYTHING for 8 mana or more in HS, ESPECIALLY 10 mana, it should basically read "win the game." If it comes with the caveat "But if your opponent answers it maybe not", that's still okay, as long as you got good value for it in the process. This card... Is not that. Not even close. Dinosize turns a minion into a 10/10 and it doesn't see play, so what are the chances for +4/8? Exactly.
Now you might say "But Richard, you can split the buffs up!" I would say to you, hypothetical person, that this is true, except that as we went over earlier, the buff you get for the mana cost is bad, and no amount of repetitions will make it good. Spending 6 mana to give three of my minions Divine Strength will never, and I mean never, be better than playing Spikeridged Steed, or even Blessing of Kings+Hero Power.
You might say "But Lynessa!" But I say to you that if you want to buff Lynessa, you could put in actually good buffs like Blessing of Kings into your deck instead. You have to draw a single card either way. May as well make it a good one. I'm sorry, but unless some kind of Miracle Questing Adventurer-type Paladin appears from the mists, outside of SPECIFICALLY Quest Paladin, this card is dead in the water. A shame, because I love the thematics of it, but c'est la vie.
I see a slight chance in wild. Dragonkin Sorcerer will activate his additional buff for every time the spell is cast.
Actually I got a Questpala already running using the Dragonkin, Djinn and Lynessa.
The spell could actually work there.
P.S. Primalfin should give back one spell for any cast one
It doesn't matter how much support the devs are implementing for Quest pali, the reward of having just a single minion is weak. I mean, I can just use a hard removal or, you know, silence and Poof the last kaleidosaur is gone. Although the buff-spell is nice, we have to find other applications for it, because Quest Paladin is just a lost cause. The memes are not even that great, if you ask me.
Cheers:
♫ ♫ Galvadon, the last Kaleidosaeur. ♫ He's got stealth a whole lot mo... Uses SpellbreakerDisk scratch effect -> "Justice demands retribution. Justice demands retrib" - "The victory is yours".
The only way this works out if if you can play it multiple times on turn 4 or turn 6 to help activate the Quest. And for Lynessa long term.
Ok, sure. But before that point you need to have minions on the board and survive.
Unless there are better control cards for Paladin I don't see how this works out. Quest Paladin is crap now because you are overwhelmed most times by the time you get the quest done. IF you get it done, because it's hard to even keep minions alive to put the buffs on.
Exactly and as long as Spellbreaker is seeing regular play due to Voidlord and the like I doubt that The Last Kaleidosaur or Lynessa Sunsorrow may have an actual impact on the game. As Quest Paladin you either try to rush the Quest with many low-cost buffs such as Blessing of Wisdom or Blessing of Might and therefore play somewhat aggressive (combined with Divine Favor) or go the control route. Either way, it's still a meme deck and single big, overbuffed minions are too likely to get hard countered.
In the reveal stream Frodan asks Peter if UE would get Echo. Peter said No, because UE was actually slightly different. Echo only applies when you play the card, whereas UE would give you a copy regardless of how it was cast. He used Yog as an example. Therefore you would not get any copies of this card in your hand from Lynessa.
! mana more than divine strength and divine strength saw almost no play, lul.

İmagine this card in priest
Turn 3 Dragon Soul turn 4 two Radiant Elemental + this = infinite value
I really like this card. Even if it turns out to be too slow, it will still be interesting to try it out in Quest Paladin.
Meh... kinda already tired of these predictable echo cards
Wouldn't you rather use a blessing of kings then? It feels more like a lategame card, turn 10 5/10 across the board where its needed.
It might work in quest pally, but other than that, no. It also works with Lynessa obviously . But in the currently viable paladin archetypes it has no place.
Fuck cubelock
Fun to mess around with but will never be good.

Fuck cubelock
So if you somehow enable to play
2 x Sorcerer's Apprentice + this = insta win?
you dont even need Dragon Soul. just play 2 elemental and you can buff your minion infinite times

A recent opponent would like to be your friend.
2 mana, spend the mana inefficiently / Echo : do it again!
Great in the priest matchup, but for them Kappa
Welp, I did just open The Last Kaleidosaur yesterday...
Dinosize: 8 mana, make a minion 10/10, never played.
Divine Strength: 1 mana, give a minion +1/+2, never played
Sound the Bells!: 2 mana, give a minion +1/+2 or 8 mana, give a minion +4/+8.
Yeah... this never sees the light of day.
Lynessa Sunsorrow likes this card
The Voraxx + Sound the Bells!
