Playing this on turn 4 is generally bad, so you probably want to play a spell with this. I think usually the cheapest spell you would run with it is 2 mana. If that’s the case the card is likely to be held in hand until you can play it and cast a spell. The problem with that is it’s too clunky. People are saying it’s a good tempo Mage card, but honestly it’s too weak to be played by itself and too slow to get any value out of it.
Bad card, tempo mage doesn't need so much board-control. Flamewaker is one hundred times better than this. 4 mana 3/3 and a bunch of random 2 drops are not gonna help you against top meta uber decks.
Of the options there's about 15 or so really good, 15 or so really bad and the rest are just meh being 2/3 or 3/2 or 2/2 taunt. If you get 1 spell off, it would probably be at least worth its cost and then some as long as you don't get the bad options.
I'm shocked they haven't in terms of quest mage. They probably did.
That's my point. There's probably dozens of threads on the topic. Every time a card comes out the does something when a spell is cast, someone complains about it.

Seems a great card, although it will summon a Doomsayer for me every time. Of course with the last spell I have mana for.
Now that is a cool and strong effect. Not as strong as Flamewaker, but I can see this in a deck together with Archmage Antonidas and Ghastly Conjurer. Cool buildaround card.

Top deck is cheat
Prediction: Within a couple weeks after release someone will make a thread complaining that The Coin is a spell

I think it's a good card per se, but I fell like it will quite underperform in the meta because of cards like Defile and Hellfire
Seems balanced. I don't think it's gonna see much play, but maybe it will fill some kind of Tempo Mage
Highest rank: #840 Wild Legend w/ Mecha'thun OTK Warlock (March 2020)
Wild Legend w/ Kingsbane Rogue (December 2023)

Best combo for this card is turn 5, Vex coin Frostbolt. 2 minion spawned as a tempo play. Don't think it'll be playable. Bad card.
(of course i'm not considering the infinite Glyphs chain lol)
I'm going to build a miracle mage with this.
I am excited to put this in a Deck of Wonders + Aluneth deck, for ultimate casino time.
This sounds like the start to a great Aggro/Tempo Mage deck with Knife Jugglers And Fungalmancers.

Average 2 drop stats is something like a 2/2. Some better some far worse.
Violet Teacher just outclases this card.
