I guess Abomination just got a huge boost with that.
Being able to protect a board full of Silver Hands before the Level up! turn or protect right after Call to Arms is extremely powerful. For only 2g it's really OP.
This just makes me shake my head in disgust. Oh, it doesn't come with a 5/5? The 5/5 was just a nice plus. The effect is what mattered. In many cases, this akin to "pay 2 mana, your opponent can only hero power next turn."
Now, I would be happy about this card because Paladin has slowly been falling behind the classes with bullshit "fuck you" combos that invalidate any kind of board-based strategy in a single turn, and giving them a little bit of "no, fuck YOU!" is delicious, delicious justice. However...
Let's be honest here, this is not going to see play in control paladin. This might see play in midrange paladin, except midrange paladin is crap because everyone is running silence out the ass to deal with Satan- I mean Warlock. No, this is going to see play in aggro "fuck you Imma spooge out half my deck in six turns" Paladin in order to make it impossible to win if they have Rebuke+Call to Arms on turn 6. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Paladin, and I love Paladin getting love, but a lot of why I love Paladin is because they fight fair, and winning with them requires smart play on the board in order to grind out an advantage. Well... Pre- Call to Arms, anyways. Turning Paladin into "Face Hunter, but doubling down on board spam because they have no reach" should not be Blizzard's answer to "We broke Warlock and trading is worthless now. What do we do for board-centric classes?"
I just don't want to see my boy Uther reduced to the likes of other "ME GO FACE" aggro garbage, but that seems to be what Blizzard wants. Fuck Midrange, right fellas? All "Let's think about how hard we want to push for face" and "I need to keep an eye on how many cards I'm playing a turn to keep juice for the later game." Naw. All "control" should have an unbeatable combo that 1 or 2 shots you in the same number of turns, and all aggro should be able to out-board everyone at all stages of the game, or just throw burn at your face until you die. Real nice. Rant over.
What the actual fuck. Warlock is the only real hard counter for aggro paladin, and now you made that matchup completely skewed.. We could've had a control meta without N'Zoth, the Corruptor, Coldlight Oracle, and Ice Block and this shit happens? How can Blizzard preach "interactivity" and then pull some bullshit that for 2 mana and a COMMON card, you can basically make half or more of your opponent's hand unplayable. Hyper aggro meta, here we go again.
Eh, I think people are gonna overHype this card. Lotheb was good because it was a 5/5 as well. If this card cycled itself then sure, but i think it will only be good if alot of control decks see play.
I really loved hearing Peter try to sell us this card as being 'Fair' mentioning cards like Equality and Aldor and general class identity. The only thing 'fair' about this card is the 'fair' amount of dust we are going to receive when this common inevitably gets nerfed!
So like 2 cards of murloc and dude paladin goes out. Deck will stay strong...
From the current meta, this prevents:
dark pacting
Dragon furieng
Spellhuntering (like, in general)
Spreading Plaguing
A lot of control warrior stuff (except bloodraised)
It's not strong vs. Priest any more with dragonfire and horror going out, but this buys a turn before your megasaur, level up or stegadon against almost everything. Crazy strong. Blizzard pushing T1 deck.
Finally: The remark abiut the "skilltesting card nature" makes me doubt blizzard a lot. If this is what they rate as skilltesting than they really want to keep it simple.
People saying this card sucks are out of their mind. It's an incredibly good way to spend 2 mana anytime you actually have a solid board to protect you from defile, twisting nether, etc. Against some matches this literally denies a turn for the opponent
Doesn't this effectively kill spell hunter? I mean sure, you can still play Rhokdelar or a weapon but otherwise you're pretty much screwed without minions :(

Guys, this isnt "meta defining"or even "very good", and aggro paladin definitely will not use this card. Never.
More ammo for "even Paladin" decks.

Death to Aggro!

Hearthstone is a game of "copy and pasting"
can be used wth beardo for otk paladin if they have no board, they will most likely not be able to clear the tokens
I will enjoy playing this against Mage.
WHY ??? this card is useless it only half of a good card

Occasionally gives helpful advice.
This will be very good for Paladin. Turn 4, CTA. Turn 6, this plus second CTA. You have pretty much protected your board.
Priests still have Duskbreaker and there could be other minions based board clears... also this won't stop Rexxar or Hagatha.
Never seen Loatheb?
