sersiously thats how it feels for everything lol it takes within mins...OMG THIS SUCKS day later someone makes something back breaking with it OMG U DUMB IF YOU DONT PLAY THIS
Or you could play the same card next turn and get some huge beast value. Hunter already had a card very similar, albeit, maybe a little worse, but it really was just a waste of a legendary
Or you could <gasp> not play it on curve!
Played later in the game, you have one extra mana leftover, better stats, AND you're not limited to Beasts.
Sure, that is true, but there still doesn't seem to be enough support for a card like this. Hunter is known to go face, and rush Doesn't allow for that. Besides, there definitely could have been better legendaries we could have seen than a card that has a similar build to another card in the same class

There have been at least three major Hunter archetypes besides Face Hunter. If that's the extent of your Hunter experience, I'm not sure why you're evaluating Hunter cards.

I shouldn't even be surprised by the community's inability to evaluate cards anymore. This is one of the most powerful cards in Hunter's entire arsenal and yet people are making and upvoting dust jokes. Congrats, you don't understand tempo.
Yeah I've got to agree, this card seems nuts to me. Can't believe some are calling it weak or insta-dust. Hunter wins games very quickly if it dominates the board, which this card will do.
true, sometimes hunter minions gets overkilled anyway by a removal, if you can at least get a value trade with them, soy you can control better the board. and, please, stop the comparation with the Tundra Rhino, this one on curve it's really dificult to kill, the 6 health really matter, and the rhine it's easier to kill on curve too many times that some people needs to wait to play it later on the match. "But the rhino has charge, and give charge to your beasts...CHARGE; CHARGE CHARGE" , come on, the only real hunter charge meme it's huffer, i saw more charge in warrior and Paladin in the last 2 years that in hunter even without the standart format. Hunters actually go face, but if they get burst from other cards over the charge minions
Midrange was one hunter deck, known for getting a big board and beating down the opponent, there was another deck using Barnes and a lot of spells, but one of the ways to win was simply beating down the enemy with y'shaarj, and there have been a few tries at control hunter, but nobody seems to be able to make it work. It just seems that a card like this won't make it/

Yes, I know there have been other decks, but there has always been an element of beating down the opponent with big boards or minions. I did not solely mean aggro hunter, but rather hunters in general. I'm not opposed to giving hunter something new to play with, but I just don't think this card will make it.
this is a full board swing with necrotic geist (and a wisp to get it started if you have nothing on board). you machine gun down their entire board and finish with a 3/6 and a 5/3.
Great card, hope it gets some more supporting cards this expansion. Especially seeing this work with deathrattle: e.g. This + loot hoarder 6 mana equals 3/6 + deal 2 to minion + draw a card. Hope they print more cards like Kindly Grandmother.
How does this card work with Tundra Rhino. Will your beasts have charge or rush?
will have charge.
rush is defined as "can attack minions the same turn it is played", not "cannot attack face the turn it is played". so rush is a subset of charge, not an exclusive set.
This card isn't too bad for a Hunter deck. With rush being the meta right now, there are many cards that synergize with this legendary. A 4 mana 3/6 alone is not bad already. Combined with its extraordinary effect, I'd say that this card is very well playable in almost any Hunter deck, it serves a useful purpose in the game and provides a decent body. Very nice. :)
Could you give me an scenario where Shaw is useful? I opened one but never used it
A theoretical scenario or one that is viable on real ladder? Because theoretically, Houndmaster Shaw could be on board and you simply rush all the opponents minions off the board with your minions in hand (he plays something and you play something to kill his minion). This already works pretty well with 3/1 bloodhounds (see monster hunt with Shaw). And then Shaw could simply chip the opponents health away.
Practically, this fails simply because it is too conditional, even if you would get Shaw on turn 4. You need to have the board first, then play Shaw and have him survive (spells can't be rushed down). As it is pretty obvious from the present ladder: Hunter decks with Shaw are not viable at the moment.

This will be pretty good in my control reno hunter deck.
New Hunter legendary will be "Your Rush minions can target the enemy hero".
Small poisonous minions will almost certainly become relevant. Before the rush mechanic they were almost there. Meta defining.
Do or do not. There is no try.

Cards that love Shaw:
Volatile Elemental 4 dmg
Eggnapper 5 dmg
Cursed Disciple 10 dmg
Abomination 6 dmg to one 2 to the board
(I tried to pick just stuff in standard, but Wild has some crazy stuff. Moat Lurker has some crazy implications, too bad its moving to Wild only)
Pretty meh. Just like all Hunter legendaries besides Rexxar. Decent card but nowhere near powerful enough to make a deck like control hunter work.

This is a midrange card. A Phenomenal midrange card.
Not every legendary is meant for a control deck.
dust card no other option ^^
