Maybe it's a good thing that because of whirlwind this card can't cost 1 mana! However, for the cost of 1 additional mana you do gain heaps of flexibilty so perhaps we're looking at a Whirlwind replacemen for many.
If you build up the play, i.e 6 mana to deal 3 damage to all minions it kind of reads as a bad card but used as a mechanic to draw or gain armour this card actually becomes a very positive tool.
Unfortunately because of whirlwind it can't cost 1 mana but at 2 mana a time I think it is unlikely to see heaps of play other than as a Whirlwind replacement. Perhaps it will be exactly this?

Because it isn’t intended to be used that way. It is a means to repeatedly activate your “when damaged” triggers.
Now I don’t know I it has much use with whirlwind and razor and the DK card. But it certainly has a niche, and being able to be used as a board clear in a pinch (even if horribly inefficient) is an upside.
Not saying it's a good card, but any deck that would've run whirlwind will now 100% play this instead. No reason not too. Also, I do think people are slightly underestimating it as dealing 5 damage to all minions with one card is pretty powerful...even if it costs 10 mana.
True. It certainly will aid that particular mechanic if you've got the right board on the go. I suppose at 10 mana you can potentially draw 4 cards whilst dealing damage to other minons if you haven't already got your acolytes down.
