For Shaman the risk of it being stolen by a Hunter running a Sylvanas and then being used to activate their beast synergies is bigger than the potential advantage so I'd say the tag is a downside if anything. Unless you play Skelesaur Hex.
I suppose that if you play wild, that could be a concern.
A token shaman would be perfect with Genn and this card also supports that archetype but only problem is bloodlust I hope they don't release a better bloodlust to support this archetype
If the opponent plays "the Darkness" and we have candles in our deck, this Battlecry doesn't activate right? As the words are not "in initial deck" I wouldn't be surprised if we will have more options to put cards on opponents deck.
The candles cost 4 mana and this cards says "if your deck has only even-cost cards deal 2 dmg" 4 is an even number
This card is really strong, but i don't think that Genn's effect (at least for shaman) worth gimping your deck to have only even cost cards. of they print more cards to support the archetype and it will be viable, this card will obviously be staple.

"If your Hearthstone has only an odd number of deckslots, double your starting number of deckslots."
We are so screwed.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

Candles "cost" 4, which is an even number so it's still triggers.
This card seems strong but, currently shaman has a lot of key cards being odd costed, well show us the new archtype, please don't meme shaman again, after 2 meme expansions for shaman, shaman deserves actual cards.
2 damage unconditionally(in the right deck) on 2 is really strong seeing on how Fire Plume Phoenix saw some amount of play.
BTW Hagata is even costed.. although not benefitting from genn it at least works in the same deck..if hagata is truly strong that is.
interesting tidbit now that hex costs 4 it's playable in the same deck as this card, same for bonemere.
In current state it doesn't seem like a good card, maybe if they'll print more good even-cost cards for shaman in future expansions it might see play. Shaman was always more about odd-cost cards, and even though they changed hex and rockbitter weapon, there a lot of odd-cost cards that are just too strong to pass.
Stats are good, but deal 2 damage is not quite strong enough to justify a spot in a deck, perhaps if a "can't be targeted by spells or hero powers" meta will ever rise this card would be very strong
I don't know if this card or the deck will be good, but I do know that what you've said here is incorrect.
Yeah, 2 damage on command is honestly insane. I think this could be a Patches power level card. Medivh's Valet needs a secret in play. This needs nothing. This is probably one of the best 2 drops Blizzard has ever printed, maybe even outclassing Totem Golem.
Every single one of Shaman’s AOE cards are odd-cost, with the exception of Malestrom Portal and Avalanche, which isn’t that good. They are going to need a good Even-cost AOE card for this to be remotely successful.

Though this might actually make Runespear playable... lol.
Do they really? They can just run a very aggressive list and this card is extremely good early removal. They have bad AOE but the rotation takes away any real use for Maelstrom in most cases since things they were great against (Stand Against Darkness for example) are rotating too. The basis for this deck succeeding is being able to tempo with even costed cards. If it can, its a powerful deck, if not. It is weak.
Definitely not crazy good like the mages new cat, but this would definitely be a solid two drop to play in a even shaman deck. Also, don't underestimate the power of being able to pick your totem every time.
Edit: I'm stupid, it's hero power for (1). Still pretty good.
Assuming Shaman is playable, and Assuming that they have some win condition with only even cards. This is pretty good. Take that River Crocolisk... Oh wait.... what if you played murkspark eel with the only even deck and you are playing a warrior who is at 14 or so health and there is no minions on your opponnent's side of the board and you'll die if your enemy gets in mortal strike buff range? Dang it River Crocolisk can still be better than murkspark eel in some situations...
As someone who plays almost 100% Shaman I am a little nervous about the implication of the shaman card. They seem to think it enhances Totem synergy while cutting out Windshear Stormcaller which is currectly the big payoff of totems. This new card also cuts off the best of the Overload Mechanics with Snowfury GiantEarth Elemental and Sapphire Spellstone. The archtype that would most synergize seems to be freeze shaman sadly with MoorabiAvalanche and Brrrloc. This on top of getting a new Hero card who I assume has a new Hero power that would overide the 1 mana buff of the legendry so your hero power would go back up to 2. Admitally have no idea what this new hero does as it could be something crazy like "Start of Game Replace your hero with this hero". but as of right now I am concerned for shaman since the last 2 expansions have lowered my confidence. Hopfully we see a lot of support for this deck idea they are going with.

so just like valet, this card is nuts. and the new deathknight is an even card. maybe shaman gets some love now

Seems like a good card in a even cost deck. As of now I'm still leaning more in the direction of a "Baku-shaman" right out of the gates.
Blizzard Make this

First good early drop Shaman has seen since in a long time

Odd-cost AOE: Forked Lightning, Lightning Storm, Elemental Destruction, Volcano.

A decent card, cant say anything until I see more cards.
Me? Gongaga.
Very good tempo card! Looks like Shaman is getting some love in this expansion.
The yet to be revealed Hagatha costs 8, so perhaps even-cost Shaman is intended to be a deck.
