At first I thought this was total crap as a more expensive Justicar, but I didn't see the "start of game" part. Wow... Still unsure how useful this will be overall, but it seems really strong. Some cool decks will be spawned as a result of this.
A well design card, kudos to the devs. Just like its twin (the worgen legendary) this card is a nice challenge to the deck-builder, as you have to adjust your deck the most optimal way, so that you will benefit from the HP, but at the same time the deck shouldn't suffer any consistency issues. If you ask me, this will work - just look at Kele decks, look at Spell hunter - if those decks made the cut, then this card will too. Of course, it all depends on how the next set will look like, but I sense, that the creativity of the users will flow and amaze us all. I like this card mainly because of it and also because of the reward (about time to revive the upgraded Hps) - for now I'd give it a 6/10.
Maybe Priest and Warrior will run it, but hands down, that control Paladin will put this in their decks.
Probably gonna try it in Shaman, Malygos OTK style, with additional and constant threat & support from neverending Totems of Air (or Stoneclaws when you really need that taunt!)
Upgraded hero powers make missing your 2nd turn less painful. This is similar to how Keleseth fit best in rogue. When a HP on 2 is good enough, you can make those sacrifices for the long term improvement of your game.
Well it's less painful but except the rogue one, none of the upgraded hero powers actually is worth 2 mana, and I doubt rogue will play it.
with the current cards the only class I see playign this card is warrior, and it's just cuase the justicar hero power of warrior is SO GOOD. (still worth less than 1 mana to gain 4 armor in warrior Iron Hide
Paladin, Warrior, Priest and, arguably, Warlock Upgraded Hero Powers are very good for 2 mana.
Self-synergy is really cool here - you can't run 2 drops, but then, that's fine as you can hero power on turn 2. An upgraded hero power on t2 is pretty decent and for the right classes the effects are often almost worth a whole card at that point in the game.
A shame that actually drawing this is almost a complete brick except in really grindy match
Really bad. There is not a class that can run only odd-cost cards, lol.
Aggro Hunter gets pretty close.
Agree, maybe even the quest... lots of 1 drops, a 3 damage hero face power... what could be better in an aggressive deck? nah, probably not the quest, but you could definitely build a very aggro hunter deck with this.
Any kind of control deck I think would hurt way too much from the loss of even cards.. but a hyper aggressive hunter deck with only 1 and 3 drops could work.. throw in leeroy.. it depends on the rest of the meta.. but a deck without healing is going to have a hard time dealing with that 3 damage a turn
This card will be meta defining. It very nearly already fits into a couple meta decks already. Top fits would be:
- Dude paladin (two 1/1's every turn might be better than Call to Arms)
- Spell Hunter (HP upgrade while still having access to most of your burn and impactful spells)
You're right, it is one of the best upgraded powers... too bad most of their buff cards are odd. I'm betting the classes blizzard wants you to use this in will recieve an "oddly" high amount of Odd cards.

.........you're suggesting adding a 9-drop to an aggro deck?
This needs some way to reduce its cost or cheat out the effect before you have 9 mana, otherwise it most likely will not see play.
Maybe we get some card that says, "When this is in your hand, gain the battlecry of a random battlecry minion in your deck" that is low cost that could justify playing Baku.

Someone didn't read the card... It triggers at the start of the game.

You're right, I totally misread the card. This is much better than I thought it was.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Ooh ooh baby. Bring back Control Warrior!

Calling new Baku Facehunter meta

I am not sure, if it was mentioned or if it is really obvious: does this need to be in your opening hand or does this act like prince melchazar

You can't stop the signal.

Pays for itself in Warrior, Warlock, and possibly Paladin.

Seems ok.

Something to consider - these legendaries will create whole new archetypes.
