I don’t think this card is very good because no hero power is good enough to win a game by discounting.
Warlock and dude paladin may disagree. warlock can play mountain giants on turn3
So what, is it really any better than the usual cubelock? I don’t think so.
And if there was no cubelock it would be good enough? You are saying Genn Greymane is bad and not that it will never be as good as cubelock. Only because cubelock is in his own tier does not mean that a genn greymane + control warlock is bad.

Control lock without lackey and void lord? It may be viable but I don’t think it’s better than the usual one. Is it really so relevant that warlock hp costs 1 or 2?
So I think there is a lot of potential fun with either a dude Paladin craft or... and this is what I really want to try out... a ‘big tricky Hunter’ deck- a lot of traps and big beasts.

Maybe they bring back the inspire mechanic with a lot of even cost cards? just guessing here, but a 1 Mana HP will allow for a much better use of inspire minions, you can basically use your HP every second turn (with odd number of mana crystals)
Let’s see how good they can be. You know even with 0 mana hp(raza), the inspire minions are not so spectacular. I mean before DK.
Well currently I reconsider this card and I did it based on hero powers
Mage- with current rotation this card will decrease mana cost of the ping to 1 but I don't think it will really benefit mage. If they push for some control kind of mage this might be a good card but unlikely
Hunter- Most of the good hunter cards are odd cost cards. some sort midrange hunter can benefit from this card but aggro types dependent on odd cost cards.
Shaman- I imagined a totem shaman deck with this hero power but the good cards to support totem shaman rotates like Thing from Below also Primal Talismans and Windshear Stormcaller are odd cost cards. If the Bloodlust would be an even cost card token shaman would work but nope it is also an odd cost card.
Paladin- Righteous Protector is so good to sacrifice for 1 mana hero power also Divine Favor is an odd cost card this might work with a slower paladin deck but not with current paladin archetypes.
Warlock- Out of question warlock doesn't require discount for hero power to begin with.
Rogue- Also same with warlock there is no point for discount you already use weapon for 2 turns
Priest- Might work with priest but the board clear will be problematic if some sort of new spitefull priest appears this might increase survival chance. also unfortunatelly it will not work with Shadowreaper Anduin SAD
Warrior- I couldn't think any kind of archetype to make this card work with warrior.
Greymane will have a far easier time working than Baku. Baku creates very awkward curves since you are sacrificing your Even cards for a power up to an even hero power, which means past turn 2 you hero power will have a hard time filling you your curve on even turns, mmeaning tempo and aggro and most midrange styles are likely out of the window and the rest gotta deal with the card restrictions to be viable, and would likely rather run Justicar. With Greymane on the other hand the 1 mana Hero Power fills out your Odd turns perfectly, and is a far less dead card if drawn. Basically I find Baku far more restricting and don't see it very viable in decks that likely care about the increased hero power value, while Greymane lends itself to styles that can easily fill in holes with good neutrals and the effect is easier to take advantage of from the get go.
That being said, Echo card quality will have a big effect on Baku, since Odd Cost Echo cards double as Even cards on later curves. If some really interesting 1 mana Echo card(like Unstable Evolution) is released, Baku will love it(Unstable Evolution he already loves I reckon)
This is a very nice analysis and I thank you for it.
I do not agree with your conclusion though. I believe Baku will see play too because upgrading hero power is far stronger than discounting it. Historically speaking. No one knows what the future hold.
I wouldn't necessarily include Barnes+Y'Shaarj, but Deathrattle Secret Hunter with Genn sounds pretty doable to me. 1-mana snipes for pressure + regular Secret shenanigans starting out, followed by Kathrena and N'Zoth to drop the hammer. You lack certain bits and pieces like Corpse Widow, King Krush, Secretkeeper, and/or Cloaked Huntress, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.
That being said, the million-dollar Genn Greymane question is this: who's gonna be the first person to successfully combine Genn with Reno Jackson?
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3

Lol this sounds like Genn and Baku actually created for wild seriously you have waaay more odd and even option in wild.
I think there will be no strong genn deck in standart and only one baku deck might appear.

my english is a little bit weak i think.

Cant wait to try my genn recruit hunter. You only loose krush who is a tech card, the camel thing and secretkeepers

Druid- Nourish
I think this card is not really that good right now maybe if they support it with some crazy even cost card it can see play.
I am excited with the prospect of Quest Warrior with some Auctionmaster Beardo help. Even without Burgly Bully, cards like Blood To Ichor, I Know a Guy, Iron Hide, can pull it off.
Unfortunately it only works with basic heropowers.
Release the Kraken!
I'm intrigued by Genn Hunter. You lose the beloved 3-slot, but plenty of things remain:
