Couldn't they have just made it discount by 1 when one of your own minions dies? It would still see some play somewhere, not in 80% of decks like we're seeing today.
It would have been a really nice card in some niche decks, like Beast Druid (or Barnabus), Beast Hunter, Evolve Shaman, some kind of zoo decks, or even control ones, by just changing the text (only friendly OR only ennemy minions) or/and changing the price to 8-9.
With this change, this cards just evolves from a auto-include metashaper to a complete garbage useless card. I'll be happy with the dust, but this shows how Blizzard is always incapable of changing cards.
Blizz is still a long ways to understand how to make nerfs that are actually balanced. If I were a new player and my epic was a 7 mana 2/5 I'd be completely pissed off.
Nerfing Patches was already a Creeper nerf. The only thing left to do was raising the Creeper cost. A 12-mana 5/5 that will take about 6 to 8 turns to appear if it's on your starting hand seems pretty reasonable.
But no, Blizz only nerfs if it will absolutely guaranteed it will destroy entire archetypes and classes. Bye, Tempo Rogue/Aggro Paladin/Highlander Priest. It's time we welcome our Cubelock Overlords - and log off and refuse to give them money for the next 3 months or so.

Changing it to friendly minions only would have been nice... but probably "friendly" wasn't fittable in the space for the card text :D
THis is what I was thinking; a paladin or shaman gets a 5-health body on the board which needs to be respected because it can be buffed or evolved. It also can be a target for Houndmaster or even the nerfed BoneMare.

Terrible. The worst nerf I've ever seen.
By all means make it a 4/4 or make it 9 mana or something, but a 2/5? What's the point anymore?
The point is it's no longer auto include in nearly every deck - only the ones that want this for specific synergy will use it.

I don't know why Blizzard loves nerfing things to unplayability. A 4/4 would've been enough.
I wish they had made it a control comeback tool, change it to 'cost 1 less for each enemy minion killed.'
But oh well.

Well, the card is probably dead, but it was completely broken... So, I think its a good change!

My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
Instead of leaving it at 5/2, or raise its cost to 10.... those could have been decent changes. Making it 2/5 killed the card
2/5 with no other effect is insanely bad, even if the card costs 0. I never liked CC but they printed it...
The real question is, what replaces Corridor Creeper?
I think this card could play in tempo/kele rogue and face hunter, but I use this in my spiteful priest list. Any ideas?

this one nerf is definition of unprofessionalism, nothing more to say
