Personally I think that this card is having an exaggerated use at this moment, practically all aggressive decks have this card, and more recently, even two copies of it are included. If I remember correctly, Blizzard detests the exaggerated and very repeated use of cards in the decks, I think that was the reason why azure drake was removed.
Do you think that measures will be taken against this letter in any way?
Lol no. Silence is hugely overcosted anyway since the big Silence nerf a few years ago. Spellbreaker doesn't really give you much value outside very specific situations and it's a bad vanilla minion otherwise.
Also Spellbreaker is hardly very prominent in decks and nowhere on the level of Sylvannas or Azure Drake.
Not a chance. The card is needed. Cubelock loses nothing at rotation, and will help keep it in check.
It's funny how people think that because cubelock is only losing mistress it means that's gonna be the absolute king of the meta when the rotation hits... you know every single one of the like 130 cards that are coming out next expansion? you know how are they going to impact the meta? you know which cards are getting hall of famed? The only thing that we know for sure is that if you want to play the exact same deck in standard you only need to look for 2 new cards but the new 130 cards could be so hostile for cubelock that it just becomes unviable.
I hope OP is trolling because if not .... yikes. So basically what you're saying is that aggressive decks should lose to Voidwalker and Obsidian Statue with their ridiculous cheated out methods? If anything, cheating mana is over the top. Warlocks and Priests are just too much to handle even running 2x Spellbreaker.
My advice to OP is to sober up. Actually, on a second read of the post and considering join date he just doesn't understand the game and how nerfs work. Azure Drake was retired because it was the best 5 drop period, regardless of meta, regardless of build. Spellbreaker is only popular because of other broken cards. When the meta shifts he will fade back to obscurity.
Yeah OP cause Spellbreaker for sure is a problematic card that needs to get out of the Standard format... Of course the reason this TECH card is being played so much is not the fact that there are a bunch of busted cards that can be answered at least to buy a bit more time with a TECH card that negates their effects or buffs, Spellbreaker is just an unfair card that is getting spammed on every deck just for how op and busted af it is... I really hope you're a troll, if not I fear for your life and those around you.
Decks use this card because the absolutely lack of any better, it is not good by itself, have 3 manas stats card (no one put a 4/3 for 3 manas in deck even with taunt) and a situational good effect for the extra mana.
This is the whole problem with the game. In their quest to peddle packs the developers, despite having an aggregate of decades experience in the genre, chose of their own free will to ignore the rule that cards should only produce effects commensurate with their cost (both mana, and setup requirements) Barnes is a great example of how they sold the game out for $$$.

Are you suggesting that the aggressive meta will disappear? I agree in large part with what you say, but Kizlyar has some reason. The letters he mentions are really problematic for an aggressive deck, and if more decks with such powerful taunts appear, I believe they will be forced to carry copies of silence.
I'm not sure if it's a joke or not, but the responses this thread is getting is quite over the top. Cmon people, if you think it's a troll, no need to jump on the pile. Best way is to ignore or so I heard.
And if it's not a joke, than ease up, not everyone knows the inside and out of how things are done like everyone.
Anyways that's my piece. Maybe I'm just feeling short with those ready to jump on others lol.

It's funny how people fail to exercise reading comprehension on an internet message board. When did I ever say it will be king of the meta? It will certainly be played by many starting out, as it will be one of the few familiar decks to carry over. Spellbreaker is a useful tool against that deck, and can flat out win the matchup. There is zero reason to move it to HOF anyways...with or without cubelock being tier 1.

HSReplays puts the play-rate of the card at 28% - prior to K&C, the play-rate was about 11% (source = I'm a stats nerd that keeps screen shots of HSReplays.) This is the first time the card has really ever seen a heightened play-rate - it's clearly much less powerful than pre-nerf Ironbeak Owl. My guess would be that there is basically no chance that the card rotates - FWIW, I think Ironbeak Owl would be perfectly safe to un-nerf and send to the HoF, but I quite enjoy formats like MtG Vintage and Legacy, which feature extremely powerful cards . . .
Cards are selected for the Hall of Fame only if they limit design space for future mechanics, not if they're often played or strong. Also a tech card like Spellbreaker is something that may come into the meta only when a certain type of interaction become dominant while in all others scenario it will just go back to being useless.
Thinking of rotating out a tech cards (that by definition is situational) is something that will never ever be taking seriously.
Oh please ease up on the shitty responses. Instead of ''fearing for his life'' and whatnot, why not explain the reasoning behind Spellbreaker not being a viable choice for Hall of Faming. OP, regarding your initial question,/concern, you are looking at this the wrong way. Even though spellbreaker is included in multiple decks currently, it does not really push the same type of oppression Azure Drake did, for instance.
It is a much needed card to answer some of the cheated out minions etc. It is a natural response to some of the new powerful cards that came out. It is NOT oppressive in any way and it doesn't really limit design space in any way I can think of. If you wish, compare some of the cards that got Hall of Famed to Spellbreaker and you'll see why there cannot be any comparison between them.
Take for instance, Ice Block, which is a card many people think will get the treatment soon. It is a card that somewhat limits design space for Mage going forward. Or, take Leeroy, which is essentially in almost every aggro/tempo deck. Those are cards that might get popped.

¿Magma Rager Hall of Fame?

A 3/2 for 3 manas will be a lot better than that.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
No, it should not be moved to HoF.
This thread should be moved to hall of shame
