Does Secret Keeper get buffed if a secret is played via the Mad Scientist deathrattle? Or must it be played from your hand?

Secret Keeper won't activate because the secret is put onto the battlefield instead of played. Similar to how a battlecry won't trigger from a minion put onto the battlefield by Deathlord.
