So, as the title says, priest is my main class, the only golden one with something like 900 wins. It is since Gadgetzan, when i remained fascinated by Kibler's control Raza inspire priest, and i dropped warlock for it. Before Anduin DK it was quite reasonable. I then added the OTK win condition, with spawn of shadows, sir finley mrrgglton and shadowform. Nothing exceptional, almost a meme dexk, but i was still able to reach rank 5 with it. Then Shadowreaper Anduin came up. I wanted to play the highlander deck at his fullest, so for 2 months i switched to Wild to be able to play Reno, Entomb, Lightbomb, Brann, Excavated Evil and Palestress (eventually cutted from my list in the end). Unlikely the Razakus decks you see around, mine was an home brewed Dragon Razakus deck, with only 6 spells, limited card draw and a lot of board presence thanks to dragon package (operative, twilight drake, twilight guardian, azure drake, book wyrm, ysera, primordial drake). It was very successfull, i reached legend twice (my very first time in september, legend #6, then again in october). It didnt feel like cheating. Anduin was the way to keep the board clear while i accumulate card advantage and board presence with my dragons, but not THE win condition. Then, taunted by a friend of mine saying "is not really legend unless its standard" i decided to try standard. Due the reducted pool of dragons, after a bit i decided that i couldnt make it with a minion based deck, so i had to switched to the traditional razakus (Velen, Mind Blast, Lyra and a bunch of spells and card draw). Yes, i reached legend. But have i enjoyed the games? Hell, no. Is not control anymore. Is just a combo deck with a lot of tools to survive. But what i hate the most is the fact that makes all the mirror match terribles. Before, if you was lucky to have a priest vs priest mirror, you could be almost 100% sure to have an epic fight were the skill was rewarded. Now? Is just a matter of who draws Anduin and Raza first. In fact, now priest is the class that i would never want to face, because it never challenges me. All i want to do is draw, i don't have to think how to manage my removals, cause im not gonna need them most of the time. Sure, decks like jade druid, zoolock, tempo rogue and exodia mage are not smart decks either. But that's what we got. Im just sad because i can't have the chess games control vs control anymore. Hope that K&C shake up things. Thanks to whoever will read the whole wall of text
I agree. They have dumbed the class down so much that i've come to despise both playing it, and playing against it. KaC isnt about to change that in any significant way. In fact, i think they have aggravated the problem instead.
I love how everyone complains about Priest when Tempo Rogue can easily be considered a stronger deck, and Big Druid is just as strong as Raza Priest...
The only Priest Deck I dislike is Big Priest because it is a braindead deck for noob banwagon Priest players.
Priest will continue to be strong, but I don't think it will be like Pre Nerf Jade Druid strong, and will likely not even be the strongest deck moving forward, not to mention it will be nerfed into Non Existence once Raza the Chained rotates out.
Razakus is a control deck, but the win condition is combo. Is control because deny constantly the board of the opponent and has plenty of healing, while drawing all its combo pieces. But vs priest there is almost nothing to deny, no board to answer. Only draw. And that makes the match boring, a matter of luck. Hence my post. Sorry, but it looks to me that is your answer to be uselss
its not that there is a main class in a card game. However, priest has voidform broken.people are abusing it. and it is an instant loss if curve happens.

I had a hunter deck that ate raza priest for breakfast (not an aggro variant). It was funny to see the priest try to control my board full of 4-attack minions and desperately try to do something to prevent dying before assembling the combo. I lost maybe 1 out of 20 matches against raza priest. But then I stopped seeing priests for a long time.
True story. Too bad that won't work anymore cuz Duskbreaker and Psychic Scream.
You heard it here first: Prieststone is coming (just like Druidstone at the start of KFT). But perhaps The Darkness can betray the Shadow ... we'll see.
i found some fun ideas yeah i am also a standart player but it would be wasted if we dont have sometimes fun :D thats why here for all the priest lovers i got you covered <3 Merry Christmas and have the most legendarys as you can when Kobolds and Catabombs comes out in your country <3 .
Played control warrior for a fair bit in the past. Have given up now, it's not possible because it's too slow and pretty much every deck just gets a gazillion chances to highroll you.
I like raza, puts the pressure back on all those snowball decks. Traditional control playstyle is just dead, it can't work in metas where almost any competitive deck's win condition is include as many chances to roll big while playing on curve as possible.
The start of the new expansion is the best time to play control decks because everyone is experimenting. As time goes on, people get lazy and don't want to think, which result in decks that everyone hates because they are mindless. I think razakus priest is one of the more difficult tier 1 decks to pilot, but I'm excited to build fresh decks in a new meta and get those long chess style games.
I understand that razakus priest feels frustrating to play against, just as the quest rogue and quest mage, because you feel like their draws, are more important that both your skill and your own draws. Losing to a combo that you're struggling to stop is always annoying. Losing to OTK/combo feels frustrating even vs extremely skill intensive decks like the old maly-mircale rogue, which was in no way solitaire.
Only decks that I have ever really hated was quest rogue (which is the only arketype i never played even though I pretty much always have every card in standard) and to some extent jade druid from early MSoG (before it became tier 1). Not because these decks where mindless or top-tier, they where not, but because they where auto-win vs certain archetypes limiting deck creation and created extremely boring matchups. Not a huge fan of exodia mage either, but its not comparable to cancer quest rogue.
In MSoG i played mainly Renolock and lost a lot to pirates getting lucky draw or me not drawing reno. While no one likes to lose, I did not see it as a great problem that people played pirate-warrior, it just forced control and midrange players to build and play in a certain way.
I don't think priest is or will be a cancer, razakus priest is a pretty complicated deck to play, and there is a lot of new tools against it. I've beaten razakus priest with bring it on dead mans hand warrior a lot where you can easily get enough armor to be able to live through their velen combo, with my own zoolock and even my tier 4 controllock. All this above rank 5.

TL;DR Priest is way to strong.

Today i queued ladder... met 8 priests in a row.. 7 were aggro minion highlander priest with turn one fireflies...
good times haha.. i will be looking forward to snipe priests in kobolds. craft whatever is necessary to bring them down

Priest is stronger. Rogue is just easier to play, and therefore have higher winrate.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tell me that i havent to wish him something bad.

Its not anduin. This game is just shit AND good at the same time.
Good until you realize how easy it is and that matches play themselves :)
How is priest stronger? I lost to a 14/14 vancleef on turn 2.
Keeper of the Grove Gone, but not forgotten.

Opened up HS this morning... rolled "Win 5 games with Priest" quest.
Mwahahahahaha!!
