It's not a replacement for bonemare, it's insane WITH bonemare. You can easily see it costing 0 by turn 7 in decks with minion generation. If there's a meta where hunters go back to their 'normal' builds instead of spell hunter, alleycat, kindly grandmother, and the wolf medallion means it'll probably cost 0 by turn 7. Playing this with bonemare is a 9/9 taunt and 5/5 on turn 7. The card is niche, but very good in mid-range decks.
Borderline broken card. Not because a 0-mana 5/5 is gamebreaking, but because it has virtually no drawback, and can be played in virtually any class. Would be a lot more interesting (and fair) if it checked friendly or foe minions only.
As it exists today, he is the fallback dude for any deck that plays creatures, and even some that don't.
If you don't play many minions you're still killing off enemy minions. Even spell hunter creates a lot of 3/3s and small beasts. The only problem is that the weapon doesn't allow it to run this, otherwise would be auto include.
Any deck can use this, regardless of it being control or aggro. It's just free tempo at some point.
I should only count YOUR minions or rather, count only when YOU kill off/trade your minions, not when your opponent removes them
The most damning part of its design (and effect on the meta) is that you either run it, or lose a significant advantage to every other deck that does -- which should be pretty much everybody considering the car is neutral.

I think some lists, as they're optimized, will drop this card in order to make their core strategies more consistent. They will need ways to handle an early 5/5, but many classes can do that reasonably well.
For example, I have had some promising results from a Dragon Priest list that doesn't run it (not claiming that it's optimized, mind you), even though its game plan against aggro often results in the opponent's Creeper(s) being cheap. Priest can either remove it outright with SW:D or just use Acolyte to swap attack with it.
But at this early point in the meta, yes, it's never a bad plan to throw 2 of these in, almost no matter what you're running. And it certainly feels bad in aggro / tempo mirrors where the determining factor in who wins is how many copies you had in your opening hand.
I was off on this card more than any other in the set.
Problem was I compared it to thing from below and saw all the negatives (no taunt, discounts only when in hand) but failed to realize how quickly this card got discounter, not only is it good in every tempo deck it's good even after you make a board clear cause it counts enemy minions as well.
Bonkers card. Playing the grand archivist/spiteful summoner - mind control priest deck...and it's Mulligan win rate is just crazy..even it's late game draw sees some ridiculous swing turns..
This and bonemare is just an auto-win in some situations.
It sucks when you think you have a good idea, and then realize everyone had the same idea.
This is wrecking shit in my Recruit paladin deck in wild. This, Lynessa and the Lion make that deck WAAAY better in the late game
Running this in my midrange token paladin as well with crystal lion. Turn 2 minibot, turn 3 mister, turn 4 lion and/or corridor creeper is just insane. Or if it’s aomehow not discounted enough turn 4 call to arms into turn 5 double creeper. You can get an absurd amount of stats on the board very quickly in paladin these days. My top end is tarim, quartermasters and dearhrattle add 3 silver hand recruits is also pretty insane with steward of darkshire, quartermaster, lion, tarim and creeper. Opponent wipes your board and you just reflood because of the deathrattle on a freaking 2 drop (never keep it in mulligan, let call to arms pull it).

HAH, more proof that initial theorycraft/impressions are always WRONG.
Reading the first couple pages from today's view... is... hilarious gg
Just goes to show how many shitty predictions you can see here.
Moroes value!
this card make me feel bad for (old) Bolvar ,he just born in wrong time period
main reason i didnt rate this highly because the "in your hand" part, who know someday a card (almost) similar with old failed mechanic can be broken
It's not the time period that was the problem. Bolvar was a 1 attack minion if top decked or silenced, while Corridor Creeper is always a 5/5.

Opponent cleared your board with defile on turn 2? Easy 0 Mana 5/5 on turn 3. Punished.
You clearing your opponents board? Easy 0 Mana 5/5 for tempo after board wipe. Move aside, Arcane Tyrant!
Card is busted. Splashable in so many decks and can carry games on it's long and slithery back.

Aggro decks legendary card
Please, remind me why my fair, balanced, totally fine Azure Drake was exiled in Wild and this thing runs free?
I was laughing my ass off reading the first few comments. No one knew how strong this card was going to be and now everyone is demanding a nerf!
How long did it take to put Azure Drake in Hall of Fame?
