Paladins will play this to reduce the cost of the new legendary weapon. If you get it out before turn 6 as a result, that's amazing. Turn 4 this, turn 5 Val'anyr (or possibly sooner with the coin.) Then, you just start swinging with it to get the buffs going. You don't need a Dragon paladin focused deck.
and the hunter weapon is the only one that can't be discounted. if it wasn't bad enough.
Uhm, yes it can, since by the time you discount it, this is out of your deck. :p. Why would you want to risk it though. The hunter weapon is one of the few that offers great, immediate value for its cost already.
bad we already have grimestree pawnbroker which is a warrior 3 mana 3/3 that buffs a weapon by 1/1. Sure reducing by two cost is better than +1/1 but this minion is even more understated as a 4 mana 3/4.
Let's you play some of the high-cost weapons early. Probably best paired with the Warrior weapon (although it has anti-sinergy with the recruit mechanic) or the shaman one, if that is even close to playable and not just a meme.
I think this is really quite good, not just in dragon decks. I mean, first off, 1 mana Fiery War Axe. Secondly, it is definitely possible to get this buff to land on a legendary weapon. A 4 cost Val’anyr or a 6 cost Woecleaver is actually really good. Even if there is no weapon to land it on, its a decent 4 drop. Not a good 4 drop, but it’s not half bad.
This is out right "dust it". At most you are getting 1 mana off this card. And you need to have the weapon in your hand. If you have Val'anyr your are still very likely to float one mana any way. So no real tempo gain. Blackwater Pirate was never even close to seeing play.
