I feel like this is what the endless deck mechanic (Malorne + Jade Idol) always wanted to be. And I think it really suits druid as a theme.
3/5 is a good stat line, and it doesn't get countered hard by Geist. Good synergy with recruit mechanics. Probably a one of in most druid decks that run any recruit cards maybe 2.
The only niche use is as fatigue prevention if you're expecting a lot of Skulking Geists
Not exactly. The main problem with recruit cards comes, when you have no recruitable minions in your deck any more. Because then you are paying too much for the card. The Tiger can help avoid that. I don't think the tiger is a proper anti fatigue tool, since he has to die first.
Edit: But yes, it gets bad if you actually have to play it. Mybe it's wise to leave it out. Anyway, it is worth testing. I really want to try recruit Druid.

Unless we're talking about actual mill decks, though, leaving a 3 attack minion up on the board helps the druid win the fatigue war regardless. I almost kinda wish it read 'add TWO Astral Tigers to your deck'. That'd have helped more, but maybe they don't want druid to be THAT much of an anti-fatigue class.
I have my doubts about this 'recruit 4-drops' druid archetype being viable. There's nothing particularly broken about it and you have to make some big sacrifices to your deck to make it work.
Just Mire Keeper mostly. Which is cycling out in April, and Greedy Sprite isn't the worst replacement ever.
Cool card. Can't see and instant place for it right now. But if a deck can make good use of this card, it will surely be meta-defining. This is a high potential card without being broken when you look at it. Good design. (Funny I say so, but if this becomes part of a tier 1 deck it will be a horrible design and blizzard is destroying something)
Also notice the key difference between the text on this and Malorne. They're trying to prevent the buggy garbage inherent with Malorne. (Deathrattle triggering kills it, it doesn't play nice with effects like Spirit Echo, etc)
I don't know why they refuse to just go back and fix Malorne to have this same effect.
Well, it makes it possible to include all recruit you could possibly want, but I still don't see that deck being strong. Maybe if this card got more powerful as it was being shuffled back in, but as it is I just don't see a Recruit Druid working. The main reason is because that deck doesn't have a strong enough finisher, it just seems like a worse version of Jade with slightly more armor gain.

My plan is to play recruit with Jade (probably without the Astral Tiger), cut the Jade Spirit and thin the deck with recruit. The plan is something like Wild Growth into Oaken Summons (a taunt or ramp), into Guild Recruiter (another taunt or ramp) into draw into Jades and somewhen start cycle with Gadgetzan. I am not yet decided what exactly to cut, but recruit should help to get cards out of your deck while still having enough stuff out to contest the board. And then you draw quicker to your other stuff. Just stupid if you draw your 3 and 4 drops first. Have to figure out whether it's worth it.
But to be honest, I guess the refined version from now is likely better (you draw anyway enough). I'll see.
Well i have one question. Does this keep his buffs? For example if i buff Astral Tiger with Mark of Y'Shaarj and it dies, does it shuffle a 5/7 into my deck? I am asking that question because the card text looks a lot like the text on Saronite Chain Gang. And we all know, that the buffed 3/4 chain gang summons a buffed 3/4 copy. I dont see a reason, why the deathrattle effect would behave differently than the battlecry.
I don't think so, if that was the case then the deathrattle would shuffle a dead minion into your deck. Though I agree the wording suggests otherwise.
You mean it should work like the copy effekt of Sudden Genesis? Then you would shuffel a 5/0 into your deck. I think the health gets reset when you put a copy to your hand or deck. Cards in your deck and hand are always at full health right?

Won't see play until Jade Idol rotates out. Unless you're going to fatigue, this is just worse than Chillwind Yeti, Violet Teacher, Aberrant Berserker, and Sen'jin Shieldmasta, none of which currently see play. And Jade Idol is better at preventing fatigue.

This have my vote for worst epic card of the set. YES even vorse than that hunter one...
Actually, this is a very important mechanic for when Jade Idol rotates out while Ultimate Infestation is still in standard.

I just crafted Malorne for the meme value last expansion. FeelsBadMan
Well done coming up with new mechanics and text
Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
Suffers from the Malorne effect in which it doesn't really do anything. If you wanted infinite stats just do Jade.
Why would anyone think this is good? It has a mediocre stat line, and I wouldn't WANT to draw it again later.
It's not even a Beast!

Blizzard: Druid is getting too powerful. Lets create a card to counter it.
*Creates Skulking Geist*
Also Blizzard: Lol, let's counter the counter

The fact people actually believe this card is anything but terrible says a lot about this forum.
