uh... another 8 mana 3/3 weapon... already bad. And this one forces the recruit mechanic, so big Warrior (if it becomes a thing) is looking a little better, as are oozes. If I get this, I'm dusting it- I'm not really keen on this Big Warrior, get a lot of armour meta. But its just bad/ might be playable.
8 mana, 3-1 weapon that recruits one minion...very bad! (I take into account that every deck will run at least one source of weapon removal).
Given the low quality of the Legendary weapons revealed, I would be very surprised if everyone suddenly starts running removal.
Everyone was running removal when Pirate Warrior was still a thing...
Many decks will have one of the new weapons equipped, especially rogues who got a very OP weapon, so for that reason alone everyone will run at least one source of weapon removal if their tech contains at least 1 tech card slot. Trust me.
..because Pirate Warriors ran a lot of weapons and weapons were important to their playstyle. Rogue weapon is not OP and is actually particularly bad in the prevalent Rogue deck (IE: Tempo).
Don't trust you, think you're entirely wrong. People will run removal initially as the hype around the weapons ramps up and as soon as people figure that the general power level of them is low, people will remove their removal.
Recruit pulls it out of the deck. So that won't work sadly enough :(
It'll work. If you are sitting on two dead mans Hands and say deathwing and some arcane giants. You dead mans hand, now you have creatures in your deck to recruit. You swing with the weapon and grab one. You'll never actually play the minions in your hand so you can just continually DMH them back into your deck.
And while this is a neat concept, it sounds like a more clunky version of Arcane Giant DMH. Though you can do some interesting stuff here. Run a lot of the big dragons, regardless of battlecry's and the new Dragonhatcher. Run multiple recruit minions as wel. Swing with this weapon, get Dragonhatcher, play out Gather Your Party as well. Honestly you can build a board pretty quickly if you can afford to loose some tempo the turn before.
It's like they are trying to BIG Decks for everyone lol.
hard to gauge this right now. there haven't been really any strong aggro tools printed thus far (maybe the paladin recruit card?), and there have been a lot of incredibly strong anti-aggro tools printed, including like 4 new very good board clears. so the meta might very well be slowing down. big warrior won't have the tools to cheat things out early that priest and druid do, but it does have a lot of tools for survival and for maximizing value. this might be kinda good.
While I do think HS is shifting away from aggro metas in general, do take a look at the rarity of most cards that have yet to be revealed.
It wouldn't be the first time that they saved a bunch of strong tempo/aggro commons for last.
that's definitely true. most of the neutral pool is still unspoiled. given the strength of aoe's and taunts revealed so far though, im finding it hard to believe there's patches 2.0 in there.
one other thing to note - recruit is a counter to psychic scream. big/control warrior might not be a great deck but it does seem poised to have a decent priest matchup by simply outvaluing them.
This weapon is just bad. I think most of you are missing a very important point. If I said it once then I guess I will say it another bazillion times until Un'goro and pals rotates out. There are so many fucking taunts in the last few expansions. You will not be able to swing face with this weapon on turn 8 considering it comes 1 turn after Dr. 7 (Bonermare). If you are playing against Big Priest (and somehow survive until turn 8) you will be swinging into The Lich King or Obsidian Statue. In related news someone told me druid has access to big taunts as well. Warrior and Paladin have some beefy ones too! Forget about surviving until turn 8 and start planning to play this when you can keep the board clean later than turn 8. Weapon removal isn't required for this one!
If big warrior is a thing and there is heavy removal then this thing basically is a 3/1 weapon, recruit a minion. If that minion is about 7 or 8 mana then it's worth.
everyone is like "omg this card is bad. Big warrior will fail, how can they survive early aggression." I mean, fair enough, not like warrior has some of the best removal in the game which led it to be the most dominant control deck for a long period of time...oh wait.
Are you guys are crazy? Really bad comments about the best card warrior get.
Ysera, Lich King, Grom, Y'Shaarj, the new legendary, etc...
All are good for 8 manas and if the weapon is not removed in next turn the value go for the roof.
Unlike other classes warrior can tutor weapons, it is almost sure you will have this card in hand in turn 8.
Of course this is for CW and CW is dead with Jade Druid and Priest but after rotation CW will revive very strong.
You play CW so you know, the problem is we need early game minion, especially after the dead of waraxe. I cant see any warrior deck with just 8 mana minion survive until turn 8. It is hard enough now lolz.
LOL. It's not hard for Warrior to get to turn 8.
With no waraxe and no early minion? Good luck. If you can do that every game, ppl dont have to cry for 2 month and some even quit the game because the axe just go up 1 mana lolz
LOL CW never needed early minions and he got a new 2 mana weapon just use your brain for more than 1 shitpost :D Just start using Iron Hide than you get a turn 2 5/2 weapon or a deal 5 damage aoe at 4 (or even higher).
you havent read the card text of the weapon your referring to. if you play irohide on turn 1, you gain 5 armor, the enemy is likely to deal 2 damage to your face, giving you a 3 attack weapon on turn 2, into a 0 attack weapon on turn 3. if you then go into shield block you'll gain 5 attack on the last swing. which is basically a 3 card, 3 turn combo to kill 2 early game minions. compared to fiery war axe that did the same with 1 card and 2 mana, its a really shitty card, and you wont play it as an early game weapon, the new 3 mana fiery war axe is better than that.
I just laughed all the time when reading you guys posted your comments about Woecleaver. I bet that you guys were expecting some kinds like cheap weapon, which has good stat to snowball the board after the lost of the Fiery War Axe. Like how could you think it supposes to do. A weapon that finish the game?, a weapon that can kill your opponent in one shot? LUL. Blizz are trying to take our blood, and you think they suppose to buff Aggro Archetype? Well, after the lesson of Bonemare, andPrince Keleseth, they knew quite sure which way they want to build around what we want. It's a OK weapon, OK. Can't see how it bad. You see the problem is Recruit Mechanic. It's too hard to say. But recruiting a minion means you play one card left. See the situation of Patches the Pirate? Like I played Aggro as well, and I know that, this card is a 50/50 weapon, but it is just stronger for Warrior. You guys want a Dr.8 card? In the past Malkorok is played pretty much, and as well as Gorehowl. What's wrong with them? Quite simple, you have a better thing to do in that slot. You guys just are greedy people, who want anything. If you played Control in the past, you guys must know to Gorehowl. They are trying to make the game more interested, and going in the same way is not the thing they want to.
Came to a conclusion, I can declare 3 kinds of people are in here:
1. Played pretty much, want some insane value cards, or good card stat, don't want to change their archetype they are playing. Deny any ideas.
2. See the stat, then see the eff => not good enough to compensate the weak stat => weak potential, pessimistic about those cards as well. Looking to the ideas, think a little bit, still deny it.
3. Want to look forward for new things, new ideas. Always accept cards, whichever are weak or good, try to make a deck, make it possible. Always think and read others's posts carefully before saying something. Whether the card is, these kind of people always want to do something, even a meme level, just for fun.
Who do you think will get most respect?
im #3 lol
Being ive played magic the gathering for several years, ive the high and lows of cards. This card could be a "johnny player" fun card that you could Malkorok out or play. I personally think the legendary weapons and alot of cards in the set are trying to make you figure out a way to make something different and new. People will hate it , people will reason with it, people will argue forever about WHATEVER.
It could have 0 attack and it wouldnt matter.. think of it as Finisher (you shuffle Leeroy / Garrosh into deck with DMH than draw em with attacking this minion and now you can double faceless for 3x or double sudden genesis for 4x. And thx to DMH even if they destroy it you can just play another.
I don't think anyone is really understanding the finishing potential of this card. Grom+inner rage and sudden Genesisx2 is 51 damage, and you can consistently get the weapon for 8/9 with forge of souls. So you run 2x inner rage and 2x sudden genesis, you run 2x forge of souls, you run Grom as your only minion, you run 2x dead mans hand in case you draw Grom and in case you're playing against weapon removal, and you run all the removal that exists. These are the possibile combos...
Swing-3, inner rage X2 and sudden genesis x2 on grom-56, so that's 59 damage with 4 cards
Swing-3, inner rage x1 and sudden genesis X2 on grom-48, so that's 51 damage with 3 cards
Swing-3, inner rage X2 and sudden genesis x1 on grom-28, so that's 31 damage with 3 cards
Swing-3, inner rage x1 and sudden genesis x1 on grom-24, so that's 27 damage with 2 cards
I hope people are realizing that with this weapon in conjunction with grom can consistently get 25+ damage by turn 9/10 and go up to almost 60 damage. And the fact that you can get the weapon so consistenly makes this extremely powerful.
they don’t need any removal so they will have answers to every first few big minions and even more if theyhave the board. No cheating Mechanik and removing the minions tab random out of the deck is bad. Guys get it: this card is shit or ok if you win the coinflipp...

Could Work in some kind of Big Warrior with Dead Man's Hand to duplicate your Big Threats.

A weapon that gave me armor would make way more sense than this waste of a turn card
Wow. So many of you are severely underestimating this card.
Decent card in the right deck, but warrior needs to have early game defense to justify running only removal and big minions like big druid/priest.
on paper this is a verry good card, ramps 1-2 mana first swing 8-10 on the next ones.
but warrior has still the early game problem. And problem vs priest druid, especially jade since you cant run this with skulking.
As for now warrior is in waiting room for op priest/druid cards to rotate out as so many more decks.

Hmm...
I don't know, it could pull out your late game minions but heh, not sure...
It feels a bit underwhelming, but it could perhaps have a potential.

People in this forums repeat the same mistake every expansion reveal, judge the cards based in the current meta.
Blizzard chooses the classes and archetypes that will be OP in each set, then release cards with this objective.
If Blizzard wants Big Warrior or Spell Hunter to work it will work, maybe not this expansion, but someday it will.
Taunt Warrior with the quest might become meta again
Does Recruit work with Quests?
Do or do not. There is no try.
Big priest has resurrect
big Druid has ramp
warrior has 0 chance to win
