I see some people say this is a bad weapon because it gets worse as you use it (your armor will be reduced after attacking a minion with an attack greater than 0), but what is your point? Your health is a resource, and in a Control Warrior deck, you can afford to lose out on a little armor to kill off a minion threat on the opponent's board.
when you can afford to loose armor as a control warrior you've already won...
people thinking this card is OTKable need to learn how to read, its been hours and people are still posting non-noggenfogger tactics. Armor based damage will never be a hero targetable effect after shield slam got changed in beta.
Looking early game, I don’t see this being better tha Extinguished War Axe unless you Iron Hide on 1. Playing this on two and hero power three is all sorts of clunky, meaning you’ve wasted your turn two and three to get a conditional 2/2.
This plus Shield Block on 5 look much better, but is effectively as worse Arcanite Reaper.
So we need to look at edge cases where this does what other weapons can’t. Dropping a Bring it On, this, Bloodsail Raider and/or Phantom Freebooter can get some really lopsided minions on the board. While clearing a big threat to boot.
I see it as a combo card, which makes it hard to give any meaningful rating on until the whole combo is figured out. Sadly, it might preclude any actual early game weapons for warrior, which could be far more crippling than this is helpful.
You would play this as well as Shield Slam and Execute? I highly doubt it - this is dust since it's weak vs Aggro (they will ruin your armour) and not necessary vs slower decks since other single target removals are more reliable.
this is just bad. I just cant see the use of it. against aggro, you'll struggle to have any armor at all, so its a 2/2 for 2, if you hero power. It cant attack heroes, so its not going to be much use against control. Imo this should have had the possibility to attack heros, would be such a nice card, that you could actually run in control warrior.
It would be utterly broken if you could attack heroes with it. And it's fairly easy to play this before you play armor boosting cards to get your damage up. Play this on 2, play Shield Block on 3 for a 5 attack weapon and kill a Tar Creeper with it.
would it though? you need armor to pull it off, which would exclude aggro decks from using it. *snip*
It wouldn't be aggro you would have to worry about, it would be a fast, uninteractive combo. Forge of souls on two to get this and a bloodrazor, Draw on three(oracle/acolyte, etc), equip bloodrazor on four. When you've gathered sufficient pieces, drop the new Drywhisker Armorer x1 or x2, Perhaps frontloading with a Cornered Sentry first. Equip the Gauntlet, breaking the Razor and allowing an execute if there's a taunt on board. With Bring it On or Iron Hide as fillers, getting to 30 armor in one turn would not be difficult, OTKing your opponent with no regard to what or how they played. Or, probably more reliably, skip the weapon equip, just armor up like mad and brawl. Then on the next turn, pop your razor with the gauntlet, execute any new taunts dropped, top off with Iron Hides or whatnot, and boom. Game over, no interaction required.
It would obviously be impossibly broken if it could attack heroes, particularly whilst Bring It On exists. As it stands, it's a good card but I don't think Control Warrior is quiiiiite getting the support it needs to come back yet (and into a fairly horrible meta) - next expansion without Jades and Raza though? Could be back.
2x Bring it on! and 2x Iron hide is turn 5/6 OTK if you play this on turn 4.
Yup. You can OTK just about any minion in the game.
At first I thought this was the legendary weapon, turned out it was just a normal weapon. Ya, I thought about that too and had to go back to check that It couldn't attack heroes. You can even kill blood of the ancient one with that combo, just make sure you don't tank a frothing beserker it will kill you instead.
too bad there's already a bring it on meta =P. This card seems bad in aggro for two reasons. First, you don't wana waste cards gaining armor and second, it can't go face.
The card also doesn't seem to fit well with recruit warrior/big warrior (not convinced that's going to be a thing, warrior will need resurrect spells).
This weapons home is in deadman's hand warrior, you use it as extra removal on top of execute and shieldslam.
When comparing this to Shield Slam, it's important to factor in that this has 2 'charges' where shield slam only has one. Against decks that flood the board with small minions that makes this weapon superior because you can generate some extra armor without needing to spend another card, and many of the armor generating cards have additional benefits anyway.
But where I think this card will really show potential is in matchups against midrange decks that usually play a single minion per turn, such as dragon priest. In those matchups single target removal is premium. Where against aggro decks it's often fairly easy to force your opponent to play multiple minions so you can throw brawl or sleep with the fishes at them, leaving things like Drakonid Operatives and Twilight Drakes on the board because you don't have enough single target removals is another matter entirely. And while Gorehowl is certainly a valid option there, this card is much more flexible because of its cost.
Exactly plus you really need to see how you can utilize this card by atually playing it. People trashed it too quick.
yeah this seems slightly under the power curve. it should have 3 charges, or the effect should be a battlecry, or it should be a base 2/2...or something...

No. Warrior can afford to loose health to kill a minion with weapon, and then stack armor for shieldslam or new aoe.
But then it's worse than basically either of those cards since you're losing your armor as well, and this a legendary weapon so I would hope for better.
Edit: Didn't realize this wasn't the Warrior's legendary weapon.

But the legendary weapon has not been revealed yet.

thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize it wasn't.... I just assumed that since Warrior didn't have their weapon yet, that this would be it. I'm no longer disappointed.

i don't think agro will be a choice, since every single deck is kinda "control, midrange or superheavy control"
it does not attack heroes..

Can´t see why this card should be good!

Gluttons ooze buff. you have 32 armour? Me too!!!
