If I get a copy of this card from the opponent's deck (via Crystaline Oracle, Shifting Shade, Thoughtsteal, Archbishop, etc), does it retain the buffs or is it a lowly 1/3?

If you get a copy, then it is 1/3. You would need something like Death Grip to have it with buffs.

Hm, that's disappointing, however it is consistent. If you buff your own minions and use something like Zola to add a full 'copy' to your hand, the minions do not retain buffs.

The funny thing is, I tried to build a Kingsbane deck before this card was out. I used Assassin Blades instead. Seems somewhat similar in concept. There are some differences, of course: AB is +2/+2 (a big deal for weapons, of course) for 5 times the cost, you can put two of AB in your deck, AB is more susceptible to weapon removal, and Doomerang et al won't let you keep buffs on AB. Lastly, KB requires roughly twice the card draw that a single copy of AB requires, as the +2 durability nearly doubles how long AB stays in play.
