The big dragon cards are mostly legendaries and have powerful battlecries. Shaping your deck to get it to consistently pull something and not be really disappointed that its just a 2/4 that pulls an 8/8 is not going to be worth. Also the anti-synergy with the hold a dragon mechanic.
Tutoring with recruit will open up combo opportunities, but the way this is designed makes that near impossible. Very disappointing.
Stat line is horrible, effect is meh... unless you only carry huge dragons like Ysera or Deathwing then its OK... well maybe this is bad... at 9 mana why would you play this? Just Dust it.
If u want him for 9 mana, better play Innervate :D
What I mean is that a deck with lots of big dragons becomes more consistent when you have two of these and the Dragonlord to pull them out.
I get your point, but literally at any given time u would have this in your hand, i think u would rather have one of the 9-10 cost dragons instead and if u want to increase the chance of gettin them out by adding two cards in your deck that can help, i would honestly rather use Innervates or a cycle card or literally whatever else than this card. I totally understand ppl trying to come up with an excuse to run this card, but quite frankly, there isnt one :)

More consistent at loosing. Seriously, if you are playing a dragon deck or a deck with enough dragons to justify Dragonlord then you aren't always gonna get dragon lord, actually most of the time you won't. And if you are playing deck with dragon lord and no other dragons then what is the point?
This garbage wouldn't see play at 6 mana as dragons are generally something you don't want to recruit anyway. Let alone fucking 9. Most of the time I tell folks to wait, give it a try! I can't in good conscious say this about this card.
But then it becomes a dead card in your hand, if Ysera is drawn, it becomes a dead card in your hand, because its a 9 mana 2/4. Why not just play Ysera? With all the other cards released that revive minions or clears the board, the deck likely doesnt have room for this. Maybe after April 2018 when Y'Shaarj rotates to wild it might see play. But then again something else may be released that is better for the deck.
9 mana 2/4! I mean, this might as well be a spell instead of a minion.... To justify such ridiculous stat line it'd need a gamebreaking effect but instead you get 1 minion, which 1% of the times will be Ysera that doesn't even trigger her effect while the other 99% you'll get some random vanilla statted minion that just lost its powerful battlecry.... I usually don't dust anything that isn't duplicate but I'll gladly make an exception if I'm unlucky enough to open one of these....
"On our next stop for the Kobolds & Catacombs tour we have Dragonhatcher. This card wins the award for the worst card previewed for Kobolds and Catacombs as of 12/1/17. You may pause in awe of this terribly designed epic before we move on with our tour of the Kobolds & Catacombs previews."
I don't want to say it too soon, but if this continues to stay, if the rest of the cards with this stupid mechanic are really overpriced, then my fears of ruining the game experience with even more RNG cards will be refuted. If this mechanic never kicks off, then good, it's stupid to have cards functioning as good as Yshaarj, but which you can play very early on. I feel like having the ability to just pull cards out of your deck "for free" early one will be the beginning of the end. And I won't take my words back, as I think, that this would follow the same fate as in Yu-Gi-Oh and I haven't even played that game as much as other people did. What I learned from them is how the power creep in that game jumped so high, people could special summon minions so easily, that just ... everything became way too fast. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, this might be even the case, but I just remember seeing syncro and xyz, not to mention pendulum, for a short time and remembering how fast the game ended from there,
Now Imagine if we get a busted recruit card, which snowballs as good as Vicious Fledgling does.
I voted Dust It, but if there is a card along the lines of "Recruit a minion with (2) or less attack," then maybe there is a hidden gem here. Absent something to that yet-to-be-seen effect, this is arguably the weakest card ever printed.

Both good points. After thinking a bit more, I've come to the conclusion that the card is indeed trash unless something amazing gets printed for it.

On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
This card (and the Recruit mechanic in general being massively over valued) seriously make me re-consider buying this expansion. I have the amazon coins ready but if my epic quota is going to be taken up with unplayable garbage like this I think I will wait until the next expansion to spend them.
Pretty funny seeing comments of people thinking this is a good card big priest. Nothing better than a 2/4 clogging up your revives and ruining Shadow essence.

Even if you recruit Ysera you don't get the card cause the end of the turn will trigger
...
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Gotta love the bad filler cards in new sets haha.
