This is my problem with this card right here. There just aren't enough targets that you'd actually want to hit .
You have 3, a grand total of 3 targets for Dragonhatcher. That's it. You put in two 9 cost minions AND support for them with Drakkari Enchanter to pull only three targets, two of which cost LESS than the Dragonhatcher itself AND have battlecry's you'll actually want.
Can someone tell me, why are all Recruit cards so bad? It's a good mechanic, but why Blizzard does the same, like with Joust? Why are they printing so many bad cards, which would be great with a little change? (for example Silver Vanguard's Recruit+Deathrattle to Recruit+Battlecry)
I hope, that we will see a few good Recruit cards (but probably not in KAC).
They are not just bad. They are really bad. And the reason is that Team 5 has to account for someone who tries to put as many Recruit minions and spells in their deck as they he can for the sole purpose of thinning their deck as much as possible to just draw his win condition or combo. If the recruit minions had just average stats and curved into one another, they might snowball harder than the Joust minions did. And it would not be fun to play against!
You do realize that this minion will pull Dragons out of your Deck EVERY round ... so you have to deal with the Dragon AND the Hatcher or you generate more and more value.
I was super hyped for the reveal of this thinking it would be another dragon.... nope it's just some poo poo garbage no one will ever play. Way to expensive for the stats even with its powerful effect.
Edit: because some people are incapable of basic analysis:
You can't put this in a control deck. +1/+1 on your minions when you already outvalue them doesn't do anything.
You can't put this in a midrange deck. A midrange deck that can't curve out isn't a midrange deck.
You could only ever put this in an aggro deck if you could manipulate the mulligan to always open this guy, but the whole point of playing aggro is to not rely on the mulligan since you curve low enough to not care what your opening hand is.
You could put this in a janky deck, but +1/+1 isn't enough of a bonus to make a janky deck not janky.
Oh, wait, that was the top review for Prince Keleseth, my bad. Boy, these "DUST IT" cards really do get confused in my head sometimes.
I voted bad but I see that a majority of the votes put it at 'dust it' and I don't think so.
This card will not likely make it into any constructed deck as part of your 30 cards, but it's not complete trash. If this guy pulls out a big dragon, which essentially means any of the 4/12, 8/8 or 12/12 dragons, then he's already netted you some solid value. The main thing to keep in mind though is this effect is recurring. If somehow he survives to your next turn, you can possibly snag ANOTHER free high value dragon.
There are two major issues with this card though that makes him bad. The first and most glaringly obvious are his stats. A 9 mana 2/4 is terrible. Just awful. These are the stats of a 2 drop. The second major issue is that this is a recruit effect, so you better have some high value targets left in your deck or he's just not going to do anything for you whatsoever!
People are mentioning evolve and mostly I agree. This is a terrible evolve result. However, there will be those few instances where the player also happens to be running Deathwing, Dragonlord or Malygos and suddenly you're facing a serious threat and it no longer seems like such a bad outcome.
Make no mistake, this card is bad. But, there will be some fringe cases where the result is not only decent but actually good and there even some instances where the result over multiple turns will be outrageously good. Those instances will be extraordinarily rare, but they will happen.
this card is anti tempo and makes almost every card it pulls worse. Unless they make a new big deathrattle, taunt, or persistent effect dragon, this is only a nerf to existing discover or evolve cards.
I've spent quite a lot of time theorycrafting this deck and I'm quite experienced at building decks in general (not so much playing them). I'm not saying this because I'm a moron, just saying I would like to walk you to my thought process but that would take a long time so I can send you a pm later if that's ok with you.
And actually I just realised that kobold illusionist just wouldn't work if I happened to have both Dragonlord and Dragonhatcher in my hand and that is a big issue so I'll have to find another deck to convince you about dragonhatcher viability. But if you're still interested about that dragonlord thing (which is supposed to be a sherazin highroll deck) I'll leave you with the deck list for now then pm later ;)
Ysera and razorpetal are maybe placeholders (replace with gang up in Wild for sure) . The rest of the deck is the way it should be. I think the deck is solid and fun.
Okay I see where THAT deck is going, buuut it doesn't even have Dragonhatcher in it...which is what we were talking about were we not? Cause that was the only card I was referring too...
This is probably unplayable until WSOG rotates out. Even after that, it's so bad.
what about cheating this out with meatwagon ? or the newly revealed card that recruits a 2 attack minion or less?
build a dragon deck around these interactions?
in most cases waste of spot of an epic where it can be easily of a rare or even common quality as the other recruit cards !!

Come on guys of course new dragons are going to be revealed on Monday
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.
jesus. they budget recruit so heavily. this thing has 6 total stats. a vanilla 9 mana minion would have 19 total stats.
