This seems really good! Especially in buff decks and slower decks! Unless the minion with it gets silenced, it continues to give you value until the game ends! I imagine this will help make hand buff or control decks viable again for Paladin, or maybe some combination of the two. I don’t think this makes the cut in Murloc Paladin. It’s a bit too slow for agro or tempo decks. I’m rating this card very good.
I think people are somehow misjudging this card a bit. 4/2 weapon is basically truesilver champion minus the heals. Then there is the buff +4/+2. Then there is another deathrattle: "draw" a card that is a 4/2 weapon and play it instantly.
4/2 weapon is almost a 4 mana card. Drawing a card is 2 mana. Up until now It already pays off in terms of mana. Then there is the buff on one of your minions in hand. And this is just it's first upfront effect. It does this throughout the game! Both the buff and the weapon!
And I think you run other weapons in a paladin deck still. Without it, paladin does not have any removal. What will you do before turn 6 or if you haven't drawn it in the first place? If you get the card, then great you don't mind the minus to card advantage as much since you have an infinite weapon now.
If this card does not see play, it will be because of paladin having a tough time in the meta. At the moment, paladin would rather run sunkeeper tarim, bonemares, spikeridged steeds to push through the last charge along with the murloc/curator package. Though I dunno, it might replace tirion in that deck.
I wonder about a charge filled deck with this card If your hand had a handful of cheap(ish) charges, boars, Chillwind, the works. Play out your non-charge minons and break the weapon end turn. Now even a boar becomes a 1 mana 5/3 charger Slam it into something to refresh your weapon, and you're looking at 1 mana deal 9: 5 with boar and 4 with the newly equipped weapon. Keep any charge minions in hand, spend the rest of your mana dumping any other draws, and repeat.
Heck, top-decking a Bonemare after having this hit a boar? 8 mana for a 5/5 and a 9/7 charge with deathrattle equip a 4/2 weapon? Eeek.
Not sure there's enough chargers to make it top tier, and Blizz is wary enough to not print a lot more of them in the coming year most likely, but it could be fun.

In a deck like this, you can add the pirate package with patches, ah-ah and light's justice to give it charge or even to force the dearthrattle of Val'Anyr in the same turn is equipped (and maybe re-equip it immediately if the bonus goes to a charge that dies)
This is not remotely infinite value as your deck has a finite amount of creatures to buff. That's not to say that it's bad, it's just incredibly slow while also not reaching that truly infinite "Jade Idol" threshold.
After much reflection, it pains me to say it, but this card won’t see play in a tier 1 or tier 2 deck. Crying on the inside rn :(
This will only work in Control Paladin and the deck just doesn’t have the correct tools, it can’t do anything broken, like machine gun or ultimate infestation. IT IS A FAIR DECK THAT DOES FAIR THINGS, which isn’t enough in today’s meta game. I love this card and I will play it and I will have a great amount of personal success with it, but the vast majority of players won’t, because they don’t know how to build or play Paladin.
Did we ever determine if the buffed minion can be silenced, thus preventing the re-equpiing of the weapon? That is, is the effect a death rattle effect?
what wil happen if you have an valanyr equipt then play another valanyr. will the first one get destroyed by the second one buff a minion and then be reequipt so distroying the second one that wil then buf an minion and also be reequipt so destroying the first one etc. this will go on forever and buff your hand infinete big. This could get some cool highlights with for example an priest getting 2 valanyrs with dragonid operative and thoughtsteal. Or completly break the game because it will go on forever.
It doesn't reequip until the minion dies. Is this some special minion?

Historically, that's how things have always been handled, so it's a pretty safe bet.
Also, if opponent uses weapon removal when you have no minions in hand, Val'anyr is gone, baby, gone.
So there are several ways to wreck it. I sense disappointment looming for a lot of Paladin fans.

A shaman used devolve on me. Lost the weapon. Versus another Paladin player I silenced the minion...they lost the weapon.
Card went from 4/5 to 2/5 and maybe 2.5/5 since it can be countered by any silence/devolve/polymorph/hex, etc. Long story short, it's no longer in my deck ^
It feels to be way too slow a card just from playing with it a few times. It would be a better card imo if the attack value of the weapon itself was higher but the buff amount was lower (thematically this would not make sense ofc). Apart from a few crazy combos with Chain Gang/Doppelgangster I'm not sure this card is worth - and you can't guarantee that your weapon buff hits them either.
I have actually had some very good successes with this weapon. I play a deck that is full of smaller minions and using Call to Arms I try to clean out the deck in the first few rounds. Then, if I get the weapon, the only minions left in my deck are hopefully Doppleganster or Saronite, or a charge minion (Chillblade for now.) I have climbed up to rank 12 (nothing special, but for me a good result.)
It's kind of fun. After a board clear if you opponent thinks they have the upper hand and you can drop one of these copied minions with the buff on them it is usually game over.

Can confirm it works with Spiritsinger Umbra for anyone who is curious
