Twilight summoner sucks. Running the right demons can make this card slightly better than that, but still uncertain. It doesn't fit in any current decks and it seems unlikely that there's a new deck based on this guy.
Blizzard seem to value the recruit mechanic so much that all of the minions that have this ability have god awful stats for their cost. However I originally thought that recruit would be a cool mechanic because of guild recruiter having it as a battlecry effect and the theme of calling other minions to help you. But pretty much all of the other recruit minions are deathrattles which I find baffling.
The fact that these are deathrattles mean that you are stuck with a horribly statted minion for a high cost that do not make an immediate impact on the board. And also it kind of does not make sense to me from a theme standpoint because why would you be recruiting something if you are already dead?
I think this card is bad. That said, I will test it. I love Bloodreaver Gul'dan and this fits... sort of. As a deathrattle it sucks... but at least it doesn't have to die on your turn (ahem, Skelemancer). But 5 mana for 2/2 is really bad... right now its playable for me but probably dust in the end.
For a good while my wild Renolock deck's lowest cost demon was Imp Gang Boss at 3 mana. In theory, this would work in a deck like that.
But Voidlord is so much better, and when you're at 5+ mana you want to be doing more. Blizzard is really costing the recruit mechanic pretty high. Have to see if they did it right, or did another Inspire where it is over costed.
So.. ever since Rin, the First Disciple was announced it was assumed by many, me included, that there would be support cards to help make it actually work.
Looks like we're still waiting.. and we're running out of cards.
If this card was 4/1, I would vote Meta-defining. Or even 3/1. 2/2 is pushing it. Too much of a tempo loss without the guarantee that you will summon the beefy demon.
Welp, on a deck that just runs "big" demons, that can be a 5 2/2 summon, at least, a 4/5. I think that really can se play... But gotta be careful, cause potion of madness is a really big counter
Wtf? There aren't enough high-costing demons to warrant this card. Even then, it's only a deathrattle and loses you tempo. You'd have to play a deck that only plays 5+ cost stuff to be even remotely worth it, and even then you'd rather play it straight up by yourself.
Best scenario I can say is combo with the 4 cost board clear either potentially for a 4/5 or 6/6 or 5/7 on board.
So far only Call to Arms is the only plausible recruit card that will see play. At least Silver Vanguard is going to recruit a good card.
FOR THE HORDE!
If this had 1 health it would be better because of Mortal Coil.

WTF...a joke probably.

When expansion comes out I will try Possessed Lackey + Sanguine Reveler or Drain Soul. Maybe it's okay.

I hope when blizzard nerfs all the annoying cards in the set they actually buff this for a change
better skull weapon but still not good enough ?
idk,you can build around but only run big demon and shoudn't life tap (because it will anti synergy with this) sound impossible for warlock

Guys.... This card is meant for Discard Warlock. I mean it's one of the best cards to discard! Kappa
