Aluneth draws a lot of cards. If you're playing this you'll want to draw though very quickly so you can actually get the effects off. I guess that's synergy. Sorta has synergy with any card draw. Since in theory this makes your deck better and drawing gives potential tempo.
Actually, the synergy with this card and the Mage weapon is bonkers.
I agree it's bonkers, but bonkers like in a kooky fun way, not a "good way". Then again, it IS like a mini Yogg every time you draw this and I thought Yogg was bad and was damn wrong.
Nobody puts this in their deck unless they are doing it for the fun. And yes, it's ok to have just-for-fun cards in the game,
Where it gets interesting is when it is pulled from Cabalist's Tome or Babbling Book, and you have to decide if you're ready to take the risk. It's going to be a thing, just because of how mage picks up random spells.
Well, the only upside of this card is for fatigue decks.
Downside of that is when you cast Sprint or something.
Sorry to break you, but it does not help on fatigue, most probably will even make it towards fatigue. The cards that it generates to you deck are all cast spell +draw card. And if it for sure it is quite probable that some of these spells are card draw
How? I'm pretty sure if you draw this with aluneth you end up drawing 4 cards
What are you missing? If you play Aluneth, and draw these, they cast themselves, then you draw more. So you can potentially case 3 spells for free at the end of your turn and draw 3.
Anyway, this card says: "Cast a random spell" not "Cast a random Mage spell" so you have tons of possible choices, mostly positive or neutral, so this card is not that bad. The most fun will be Deck of Wonders into Deck of Wonders and chain draw, almost like old go(o)d Yogg.
Card and token arts (also mechanic) reminds me Hand of Fate game.

Ah, that scenario did not occur to me as good at all. Edit: Although if that did work for the quest it might somehow be good, but with the quest deck you generally don't want to burn cards so I doubt Aluneth is viable for it.

I would be surprised if this is competitive though, which makes it much more tolerable.
If this is the card that finally makes all the RNG haters give up and go home, I'm all for it.
If you dislike random effects, Hearthstone is not for you, and never was.
+500
Hearthstone isn't about RNG - it's about *controlling* RNG. It's controlled chaos. It's about shaping and directing RNG to one's benefit. Over time this shifts the outcomes from 50/50 to 60/40. Or as Lovecraft might say, you can't kill the Old Gods, but you can lead them where you want them to go. Sometimes.
This card looks to unreliable and slow. I really hope that it's awful. I'm so sick of all the random spell generating in Mage. It's difficult to play around all mage spells, and out right impossible to play around spells from every class.
RNG is great, but a random spell plus a random target is too much
Couldn't agree more. I actually enjoy RNG components in Hearthstone, but IMHO unless I'm playing Casino Mage, I really don't want random spells drawn randomly that are cast randomly on random targets LOL!
This card is clearly meant to be bad. Yes, it is heavily random, but it is based off of the deck of many things artifact from D&D, which is also very heavily random, and can give you incredibly power or screw you over. I like the card so long as it never sees the light of competitive play.

I agree. I think Yogg's power came in it's ability to turn a game around on a dime, and it mostly accomplished this due to the complete deluge of spells it would cast.
In the interest of embracing the RNG, here is my deck.

I dunno, personally, I love that it exists.
SUPER slow. Turn 5 pass? For what? so a random spell comes out later... pass. This is a BAD/dustable card... its only good as 100 dust.
Yogg-saron as a new mage hero confirmed!

RNG is great, but a random spell plus a random target is too much, especially if it's true that they don't trigger the quest or on-spell-cast effects.
It also doesn't work with Kazakus and Reno in wild.

Nice out of a Primordial Glyph for the discount, good with the quest since it let’s you play other non generator cards; bad but fun otherwise
And i don’t even play Paladins

Does is work with arcane giants or auctioneers??
I could see auctioneer into AI to draw for a ton if so. Miracle mage??
5 mana > do nothing on the board and probably nothing usefull when you draw your prize!
This card is bad!
