This weapon is not for control warlock, the demons you would play there have useful battlecries. This weapon is for discolock since you don't want to play a lot of discards after completing lakkari sacrifice.
I have played around 30 games with the Warlock Weapon in a demonlock deck in wild. It is very strong. It has never been removed, in fact, I have not seen any weapon removal and it greatly punishes my opponent.

I use it in control-lock. granted it's not always the right card to play, but VS tempo it really helps. yes it can negate some battlecries, but the tempo swing it gives you makes it worth it. i run rin for control match up's and skull for tempo and aggro (both in the same deck) I then tech dirty rat to mess with combo decks, and skulking geist to ruin jade druid and OTK priest decks...
I'll have to see how disco is now with some new tools then... I may end up taking it out of control, but for now it's doing it's job. the it's only face damage it negates (unless you have asari in hand, and if you're going for an asari play, you don't load up the weapon till after) and usually if you're using it, your seals are already maxed. I can also charge my seals with hellfire if needed. I have more than enough cards with face damage anyway so never really seen it to be a problem. it will pull abyssal sometimes though, when I would have liked the damage as a clear (this is why I took out one twisting nether for a hellfire)
A hit or miss, could build a deck around it if you were unlucky enough to get it, but you will never want to craft it. There are so many other great legendaries to craft so save your dust for those!
For the record, I am completely effing sick of getting pounded by cubelocks running this card. WTF! It needs to be nerfed. Or someone needs to gift me 1600 dust to make it :p
I find it unfair that this card is basically forcing us to run weapon removal if we want to counter it, maybe making cost 1 durability each time it summons a demon?

The Skull isn't even played or that often anymore. Btw, being forced to tech in one card that is good against warlock, warrior, paladin, hunter and rogue and occasionally good against priest (when they then LK weapon) is not that terrible. It's a 3/3 for 3 or 3/2 for 2 at worst.

This weapon is strong. It's kicked my ass several times on ladder. I feel like it should cost one durability each time the effect occurs.
This was my free unique so I’ve built a deck around it.
Early days so nobody is running an ooze yet, but it’s really kick-ass.
