It’s a great card but... meta defining? I think this is too low impact for control lock. I don’t understand the appeal of wasting a deck slot for a 1 time use only 1 mana discount on life tap. Great in kelly lock... but not as good as it would be in any other class. Because again, of the hero power you already have. And a 2/1 body really sucks.
Insanely good value, and honestly not really overpowered. In other decks it would be, but warlock obviously has no problems with card draw as is, so two extra drawn cards, 4 damage to the face, and two 2/1 bodies? Really good for sure, but it's not gonna break the game. I like it
I dont know about this.. You cant use this in control or midrange. its only going to be used in aggro, i guess. You spend 1 mana to use a card and draw a card.. looks like a dead card. I might be wrong, but thats my first sight.
You should more look to it to a minion you can just slam later on to cycle your hand faster and get some aditional board stats. i agree that this is a bad drop turn 1 and zoo should not keep it starting hand BUT later on this is realy great and where this card actually shines.
That depends on whether or not you want to try digging for that Keleseth two drop for next turn :)
The 224taunt is better.
Depends. If I am running aggressive zoo then I think Keleseth is better. If I am running a more midrange zoo then I think the 2/4 taunt is better. That being said I'll run the 2/4 over Keleseth because I personally am not a fan of aggressive decks.
No, the thing is Zoo has to play around Patches. Thats actually a realy important thing in Meta. If you go a vanilla 2/1 turn 1 Zoo and enemy plays Pirate +Patches and trades you basically lost the game cause you lost board. Thats why you mulligan for squire, imp, Voidwalker. verry important thing that boosts winrate.
this is not meant to play turn 1 but still a great Zoo card.
Yeah 1 mana cost life tap with body 2/1 AND TWO SLOT IN YOUR DECK. But i guess it really have great synergy with Defile, so yeah ill try it anyway.
But I dont think control warlock need this.. The 2 slots in deck, I rather choose cards that give me survivability(another taunt or heal) or control a board or aoe or finisher, because control warlock already have a great draw engine, his life tap

Actually no, you don't loose the game after that, that is gross over exaggeration. You WOULD be at a disadvantage but you don't auto loose.
As far as pirates and patches go, it just depends on what I am playing against. If I am playing against a class that often use's pirates then sure, I won't play into patches. If I am playing, for example, another warlock I am dropping this dude turn one no problem. He is a perfectly fine turn 1 play if you suspect your opponent is NOT playing patches. If you think he is play something else. It's common sense really. The existence of patches does NOT dictate whether he is a turn one play or not, the situation does.
So the kobold tribe basically has little to no consistency with each other. Well played Blizzard!
...what kobold tribe?
There are other tribes in the game such as ogres and troggs. They usually do very similar things relative to each other. Just because they don't have a tag on the bottom of their cards doesn't make them any less of a tribe. The tag is their only for the purposes of the game knowing where to include synergies such as 'if your holding a dragon' and to assign buffs to the proper cards. I origianally bought Blizzard's BS when they said only kobolds would get the Recruit wording and not cards like Y'Shaarj. Then they started revealing the cards like this one. If kobolds can now have any mechanic in the game then why shouldn't Y'Shaarj have the word Recruit to condense the wording and keep consistency with other cards that have the same effect. My joke was about the consistency of kobolds against Blizzard's statements. When your game gets to include over a 1000 cards, consistency in wording and tribal effects becomes important for people to remember what the hell they do when deck building.

Ogre Magi wonders what connection there is between itself and the rest of the tribe... There are always outliers.
Yes, there are always outliers. I did say 'usually'. They are few and far between and they do not get their own exclusive keyword. If they want kobolds to be a little of everything then fine. Don't create the illusion of them being a tribe then by giving them something exclusive that no other card can have. That is my greater point.

An Ogre Magi is obviously one of the smart ones....he can hit accurately.
Combo potential in Warlock just became so much better. Now you can more consistently find Doomsayer and Howlfiend+Defile for your Treachery, or spell damage for Defile. This is insanely good combos, but often you couldn't find one of the pieces, and it's garbadge standalone cards.
So just to give some context, Novice Engineer was nerfed for being too good as a 2 mana 1/2 draw a card to a 2 mana 1/1 draw a card and it's STILL playable.

this is good in a lot of situations ..... good at the start of the game even good when top decking

Very good card, but not meta-defining, goes amazingly in many decks.
Auto include card. This is a MUST have in every warlock deck...I thought blizzard didn't want to make auto-includes anymore?
Tap 2.0
My Hearthstone Playlist on YouTube
i fucking love you for that burn
3.2.1 kill shot
1 mana 2/1
Choose one: your hero power cost 0 this turn or your hero power draw 2 card instead.
Zoolock incoming.... hard.

It's an insane 1 drop, so of course it'll be an auto-include in many decks.

You can compare it to cards from MTG. While everybody is nagging about worse version of Terminus (Psychic Scream), this is better version of Street Wraith, and it sees much more play.
