I can see this being decent if Shaman gets another totem generating card. Otherwise it seems a bit too hard to pull off. Still, not horrible stats though if you just need to play it.
This card, maybe the other new totem cards, Bloodlust, Mana Tide Totem, Flametongue Totem, the jade package, combined with some other auto includes and you have a playable deck.
May or may not be better than evolve but the deck is plausible.
You just need 3 totems on turn 7 since your hero power will not summon a totem that is on the board (easier than the 4 people are considering on turn 5).
It will make your totems more valuable in general as people will wonder if you are playing the cars or not and killing your totems.
This is the underdog card from the set. Mark my words, we will see a lot of this. Add the combo with the new legendary and you will have 2 Al’Akir for (1).
Solid 5 drop by itself, but on that rare occasion you can meet its requirements it turns meta defining. SO its a really good card and offers and interesting play style.
Too situational, having all 4 totems on the board rarely happens, and even if you use the new shaman card to the generate the missing totems, you essentially clogged your hand with 2-3 subpar cards, to make a 7-9 mana combo just to summon alakir.
I'm not sure about that, you are also setting up for blood lust, the free 5/5, and all these totem cards make the +1/+1 pump card better. testing is definitely in order.
This is true but there are few things to keep in mind. It's already been pounded into our heads (from experience most likely) that leaving minions on board for Shaman is dangerous. So getting a board with all four totems is a HUGE hoop to jump through to get what is a "good" but generally not game winning card.
Secondly, with cards like Psychic Scream coming out for what is already a strong strong class in this meta. Then you have Cataclysm for the second best control class currently Warlock. The worst part is that Primal Talismans gets fucked by Psychic Scream :(
I can say though, on the upside, Shaman is really good at just keeping shit on the board and perhaps I am over estimating priests ability to remove stuff. I agree testing is in order, but I am dubious. It just seems like a lot to go through just to get Al'Akir
I agree. I mean, the flavor of this card is awesome. Super fun. But the payoff is very "meh." I mean, Al'Akir isn't even that good these days.
Primal Fusion makes it more attractive, but now you're banking on a WHOLE lot going right in a decktype that doesn't have much card draw.
So I'm realizing that this might actually be really hard to pull off since you only can have one other minion other than one of each of the 4 totems on the board when you play it so you actually have space to summon Al'Akir. Given that Kobold Hermit is already another body, Primal Talismans summons random totems which could be duplicates, and Wicked Witchdoctor does both, it would take a lot of setup and trading off other minions or duplicate totems (which you usually somehow need to give attack to) to work. The hero power would be the most consistent way to finish getting all the totems. And maintaining that big of a board to do so seems like it would be really difficult and you could just win with Bloodlust at that point.
I don't see why someone would rather have one board slot of wiggle room instead of playing Aggro in standard, where optimally all 7 of your board slots are well-statted, or even Midrange in Wild. Maybe it's okay if that one slot is Thunder Bluff, but then you're getting very optimistic with your expectations, especially in a game that has as many board clears as it has.
Shaman's wanna-be exodia
Battlecry: If you're already winning the game, win the game even further.
It's really neat, but not necessarily good.

I don't get why people are saying its bad.
We already have a few good totem synergy cards like Wicked Witchdoctor, Thing from Below, and Primal Fusion.

Change text to "Control 4 totems (any type) and summon Al'Akir" and you got yourself a new archetype!
Pretty cool effect, but you have to build your deck around it.. it will be almost as hard to pull off as the paladin DK hero power
Seems ok.

if you manage do have all 4 totens, you play this + bloodlust and then you get 24 damage
In a more realistic scenario you play kobold hermit, hero power, this card and primal fusion, now you have 14 damage
I dont know why they cant make fun cards like this for paladin

Pffff , idea stolen from Power Rangers.

I am not a Mage player, just thought my avatar would go with my name.

Check out my homebrewn Paladin deck.
It's like the paladin DK that can never get off, except, instead of killing your opponent is summons Al'Akir ahahahahaha. What a joke.
