i keep seeing people saying this would be great with COTW for hunter....i just don't see it being there though. it pulls it at the end of your turn losing you the 5 damage from huffer. sure, you'll get the whole crew, but i just don't see it being better than COTW as your turn.
Well it'd work better in...

Control Hunter.
In Mage if your deck has nothing but minions and like... Greater Arcane Missiles, Blizzard and Flamestrike it literally will just blast your opponent's board to death at the end of every turn. And since you're just aggressively playing minions, that might work.
I kind of like it. The randomness can be controlled with deck construction. This thins out your deck and pushes out a 4/7 body. Requires a very specific deck to be good though. I think it would be too strong if it was discover and not random.
I can imagine a Mage deck built around this. Cabalist Tome and the new Spellstone are already random, AOE spells, Simalcrum, Secrets - that can be easily be exploited.
2. This is controlled RNG you can control what youll get for example in hunter you play only 2xcrushing walls 2x cotw and you always get value.
Not saying this will see play its to expensive but its farfar better than tortolan primalist thus i think that not a fair comparison for this poor kobold.
Frost nova / blizzard.....repeated every turn could make him very very annoying. Arcane intellect Secrets. Like the new secret that burns minions entering play or iceblock i mean there are alot of ways he could be very good in the right deck being overlooked here.
Specifically because its randomly from your deck. So that means you could stack a large number of cards that synergize well with keeping you alive and that do not require targets.
is it me or is like half of this expansion cards with random effect?
It's not true randomness though. The point of this and the recruit mechanics etc. is to force interesting deck builds, not to pray for good RNG. That's a lot different than the randomness of past cards.
Card is a different mechanic the fact is this card specifically targets cards in your deck think of unlimited iceblocks or unlimited blizzards/frost novas.
Well, my first thought was "wow, an all AOE deck would love this card" but then I started thinking, and even when you AOE, you usually want to choose which one to use. Casting Flamestrike on a board of 2/2's is nice, casting Volcanic Potion is much better, and casting not being able to choose the exact AOE can really be game-losing against aggro decks. Instead of playing this card, just put another AOE in your deck, or a late game threat that's actually threatening, there is a huge variety even if you ignore The Lich King.
Not to mention I can't think of a class that can only play AOE in their deck and neglect all the other, essential single-removal.
That said, if it can be done, 7 health is quite a lot so this minion actually might survive more than one turn if cast at a crucial point. I doubt it'll be competitive, though.
Can you stop making rng cards like these blizzard, the more you make, the more chances increase one of them becomes meta, which is terrible for the game (see yogg pre nerf meta, tuskarr totemic and many more).
And no, I don't hate fun, some of my favourite cards are meme, unplayable ones. But, there are more ways to make FUN cards other than just slapping random mechanics on everything.
I stand most people here are really overlooking blizzard every turn frost nova every turn and secrets i mean you could really build quite a powerful defense around him even cabalist tomb generating you 3 cards a turn. And your getting 1 trigger even if they remove him.
Calling it in advance this card is being super underrated for the potential it has to be used with in control decks just off value generation you can get without even needing to run target specifics and the fact you can run minions to draw those cards if needed. Think half the field is severly underestimating the fact that its a CARD FROM YOUR DECK...even if the targets are random you can remove the possibility if it backfiring.

Getting a free Flame Strike/Blizzard/G. Arcane Missiles with a 4/7 body, even if it's not ideal is still good. Pretty much no matter what. Plus you know what's in your deck and what you have the highest chance of pulling. It's like a better version of the joust mechanic.
I think Volcanic Potion is too risky with it in general, though.
Here's the type of deck where I think this sort of thing might be interesting:
Elementals and Keleseth provide the early game with Blazecaller and Geddon providing late-game removal. Artificier and one of the big spells allows the mage to heal back up. Archivist and Spiteful Summoner are pretty much guaranteed to be massive board swings for you.
Yuck... there is nothing I like about this card except the 100 dust. I generally put cards in my deck to serve specific purposes and randomly casting spells (FROM MY DECK... increasing fatigue) on random targets (decreasing a spells impact) is a loose/loose. I don't even think it'll see meme play... maybe but still totally dustable.
...How? I think you would like to control precisely when your Defiles, Hellfires, and Twisting Nethers are cast, not to mention the Trolden possibilities from this casting Blastcrystal or Siphon on itself.
Yes exactly in this way. You will lose the spell as it is written in the description (but you might not have a solution in hand against aggro) so for control warlock it is not a bad card.
I don't think you understand what he means. Because it's a random spell you can't pick which one you want and when and they're all used in specific situations.

yeah...like others have said...i think this would shine pretty well in big priest or a mage deck with no targeting spells
this is rng that can be controlled, and it has the potential to be an extremely powerful card, i think it might see some play.

Tortollan Primalist never seen play...
this card is dust material

I fear the card won't mak the cut, but it interacts interestingly with secrets

First I thought it can only see play in a freeze mage type of deck. But as soon you have several types of spells this won't work.
It looks great to fish an Elise token card from your deck. Still would be a weird deck where a token card is the only spell left in a deck.
The 7 health could be a thing when you have 4 board freeze spells in a deck. Though, at the end, too many "ifs" for a 8 mana card.
