Step aside, Ultimate Infestation, there's a new Broke Back card in town and her name is Sonya Shadowdancer.
You must be joking. This is barely a better Cult Master or Shadowcaster, let alone on the power level of 17 mana UI, that carries an entire deck and makes it work.
Turn 2 1/1 stealth jade minion, turn 3 this and trade the jade, already get the value, opponent MUST destroy her like Fandral for druid with let see frostbolt or something like that, you already get card advantage.
Don't look too much situational to me...
Even a Firefly is not that bad.
It's the same as Culk Master, except that it costs 1 mana more, has +2 attack and your opponent knows what you got. Sure the 1 mana makes some cards a lot better, but essentially it's the same principle. She also must be removed obviously, yet she sees almost no play, because she is so easily dealt with and the board state too situational for her to give a big payoff.
But this is the whole point. Trading in a Bonemare or Shaku or Scalebane or anything at all with a Deathrattle / Battlecry is inherently going to be more valuable than drawing with Cult. Obviously she requires more thought, you don't use her and trade in your mediocre minions and you don't play her on 3, she's a late game card designed to give you big cheap power swings, which she does. The Cult Master comparison makes no sense because it ignores the entire point of the card.

I agree to some extent here. I don't believe she is the "PUT INTO ANY ROGUE DECK" sort of card people are making her out to be. I think she is very good for certain rogue decks that really want to leverage the copying of a particular type of minion. Which is what makes it better than cult master when that is the specific goal. You don't put cult master in Jade Rogue because cult master is so bad. It just doesn't help Jade Rogue do what it wants to do. This on the other hand does.
The fact that a minion needs to be on board in a class that already threatens bad things for the opponent if you leave certain minions on board devalues her somewhat. That is why I like her cost and stat line. Makes it easier to get some value from early game minions that may not have died yet but have solid effects, such as Swashburglar, Jade Swarmer, Undercity Huckster, Fire Fly, and Gadgetzan Ferryman. There are more of course but I think that is enough lol. I would mention Keleseth of course but I'll be surprised if anyone leave that on board when they didn't have to. But the others I mentioned are generally not worth a removal spell and often live to the next turn and can (and generally do in decks that play them) have more value from being able to play them again over drawing a card.

Shes actually pretty insane when you think about it, drop her feed in your vilespine kelseth shadowdancer even gorgon or gorgon her even and get 2 copies of cards your trading in or maybe even 2 gorgons like theres so much indefinate combo loop power because your not just getting 1 card in value your getting 2-3 cards maybe even 4+ cards in value. at a lower mana cost with insane effects.
or drop her swing a gorgon in play the gorgon play the clone swing in a bone made now you got 3 1 mana bone mares. Then shadow step her even for insane possile effects.

In the right deck getting a 1 mana minion copy is arguebly better than draw a card. Also turns out if you discount a card by 1 mana its a pretty huge deal.

When I think about her she doesn't seem that "insane". Merely good. Your scenario is assuming a few things. First that your minions are still on board. Anyone who plays rogue knows that living minions like Vilespine or Keleseth on board is VERY dangerous and will go out of their way to kill those sorts of creatures. Secondly, on your turn you can just easily kill your own minions. Which is also a dubious assumption to make.
I think you have to look at the most likely scenario to judge the cards worth. The most likely scenario is that you get some low cost mobs such as Swashburglar or Fire Fly as they aren't generally worth immediately killing off with removal and will die easily enough to anything the opponent plays into them.
Don't you love how people overestimate the power of a certain card and start exaggerating, they only look at the positive outcomes and they try to convince you how this scenario will occur pretty often.
Tbh I had a small laugh, when I saw the term broken, followed by a comment with a comparison to UI and that card being weaker than the new rogue legendary. Well, good luck explaining them the other side of the coin.
The real value is cycling high attack charge minions.
Imagine having a Reckless Rocketeer on board and playing this, than trading into the enemy minions. It's like deal 5 damage to a minion for 1 mana, if the minion had 2 attack or more put it back in your hand.
Wait what, what? How?
The minion is a 1/1 so how is it ‘Deal 5 damage to a minion for 1 mana’?
It is a situational card but its also easy to incorperate and get some value out of without being problematic. Low value curve you can walk away with some extra swash bucklers or maybe a patches putting 7 damage into something. High value you could walk out with kelsath or bonemare or a gorgon copying her into alot of copys of both of those cards. I think the value you can get out of her outweighs the value of not having her in favor of something else to the point that she will see play.
This card would be crazy if there was a cheap Charge minion with a positive deathrattle effect.
Only a Stonetusk Boar can deal 6 damage with this card. If a card somehow also could reduce the cost of the 1/1 charge minion to (0), the combo could clean the entire board.
Very good potential but in later turns, such weak stats means you can’t really play her alone and wait a turn, but in late game 3 mana for a board of good stuff to trade and combo is really good. I wonder what happens if u play her into a Doomsayer, will you get the other guys back in hand or not? Oh, and thicc nation
With good battlecry and combo cards, and even some deathrattle cards that can be run if chosen, rogue certainly has enough minions where this legendary could end up being amazing, but because it isn't straight-up amazing on its own and requires you to have some board before dropping it, there's no guarantee that it'll live up to its potential. We'll just have to wait and see.
I agree with the consesnsus, this is a great combo card. This isn't an on curve play, but rogue has a ton of minions with crazily powerful battlecries, and if you can get even one of them to survive, you can get a 1 cost van-clef, a 1 cost vilespine slayer, a 1 cost bonemare, etc. I think this is better than shadowcaster because its cheaper, and because it can copy multiple minions. It won't survive more than one turn, but it doesn't need to in order to be worthwhile.
Also, this comboes with valeera the hollow really well.

This is pretty good, will probably see play in pretty much every rogue deck
Cult Master is "Playable" or "Bad"... So you can imagine what this card is...

And i don’t even play Paladins

Am I mistaken or is this the first Rogue legendary minion since Edwin VanCleef that will see actual competitive play?
