Perhaps. But since your opponent gets to choose the target, that can make it tough. Although the bounce minions are nice to get back and same with novice. I crafted the quest after it got nerfed as I was always interested in it but didn't want to be part of the cancer at the time. It's still playable but this could give it a nice boost.
It is going to be incredibly annoying to play around. Other than Patches and the 1/2 elementals, are there any minions that you can afford to let Rogue have again?
Leute - how do you imagine finding an application for this card?
I only agree with what WhatAChamp says, but everything else - Leute, you are diluting your decks! You don't get the immediate effect, which is normally absolutely vital for a class like the rogue one being tempo oriented. And I would like to stress on the word tempo (in comparison to value like in jade dudu, priest...). You are using a card, which will feel super clunky, if you don't have the needed set-up. Firstly you need to have good draw options (top-decking this instead of burst or dunno a Bonemare/Arcane Giant maybe) will put you behind. Remember, that paladins didn't use Getaway Kodos on their own (for obvious Tirion synergies) - no, it was thanks to the flexible Hydrologist, which allowed you to choose the needed secret for the needed time. What I'm saying is - sacrificing a card slot for a plain 1 mana secret WAS not worth it. If rogues finds a class oriented hydrologist, then good. But spending a card slot or two for an insecure combo, is not profitable.
Some of you mention QR - back before the nerf the strength of this deck was the ability to finish the quest really fast. Shadowstep is more a keycard than this secret - cheap, providing immediate effect and you get to chose which minion you would want to return to your hand. So the secret won't revive the quest rogue deck.
tl; dr - Sorry, guys, but this card isn't a good one. For now I'm calling it overrated.
Well, here comes the irritation of Getaway Kodo in an even more annoying form. Want to hard remove the enemy's Edwin VanCleef with something other than Hex or Polymorph? Now the Rogue can play it for 1 mana with even higher stats because they have more space to drop cards that can buff up its stats. Same thing with the prospect of a 0 mana Biteweed...plus Miracle Rogue tends to not have too many smaller minions that would trigger the Secret instead of priority targets outside of Swashburgular and Undercity Huckster. Oh, and your board is also in big danger if they manage to get another Battlecry off that 3 mana Vilespine Slayer. Gadgetzan Auctioneer combos could keep running with enough charge as well, same thing with Red Mana Wyrm and Arcane Giant...combine that with its measurable potential to help Quest Rogue and you have one card that will see play.
This is not a worse shadowstep. If you want to shadowstep your Vilespine Slayer, you can't get your opponent to damage their minion running into it first, nor can you get them to waste a Shadow Word: Pain, nor absorb the damage from a Jade Lightning, nor rescue Emperor Thaurissan from removal while still getting the end-of-turn effect, nor get both the deathrattle of Aya Blackpaw as well as her back into your hand.
Shadowstep definately has upsides over this card, but this card has a lot of upsides as well
This card can be pretty nasty. Play this for example on turn 5 with no minion on board and in turn 6 you play Gadgetzan Auctioneer, you get a 4 mana Gadgetzan Auctioneer. And if this happen, this can get pretty nasty, especially on wild. Like and hate this card already.
So, it’s Getaway Kodo that gives your minion a mana discount. It’s not terrible, but unless there is some kind of secret synergy for Rogue that hasn’t been shown yet I don’t think it’s good enough to get play in standard. The only reason Getaway Kodo is played is you get them out of Hydrologists. Like the other Rogue secret, I'm rating playable, but barely.
One more question - of course, everything depends on the board state, but do you really think, that we won't play around this secret, that we will mindlessly attack a Vilespine Slayer instead of, I don't know, the 2 mana flower, Patches or other garbage minions... The same way we tried to play around Getaway Kodo and to prevent the pala from getting another Tirion or Tarim (by pinging a 1/1 dude), the same way we will find a way to minimize the value out of the rogue's minions. So, people, don't look only at the circumstances, where the card will perform godlike, consider the other scenarios too. They won't be that rare, I can assure you that.
Shadowstep doesn’t trigger deathrattles. But now with this you may trigger both battlecry AND deathrattle like Aya Blackpaw maybe. The only thing is you need that specific minion to die unless you’re playing deathrattle rogue then any minion is fine
"All these shadowstep effects. Possible tell for shadowstep being sent to wild."
Yes. But let's not stop there. How about a straight swap? I hope they Hall of Fame Shadowstep in April. Then in April 2018 when Cheat Death rotates out, just put it in Classic and assign Shadowstep to the KAC set.
Good card for Miracle Rogue. This one can see some play with Gadgetzan or Van cleef.
It's a good card, so it will go somewhere.
But it's really easy to play around unless the third secret is good.
2 mana card in Keleseth meta
I Hunt Alone
Quest Rogue has enough return to hand effects to be good again. Hold on to your butts.
Looking forward to some deathrattle/secret nonsense in wild. Looking at you, Mad Scientist.

So this card+auctioneer vs control decks=game over?

A better Getaway Kodo for a class that is already quite annoying. playable.
You guys talk like Getaway Kodo sees any play. lol This won't either.
It's not like Rogues are allowed more than two playable cards each expansion. We've yet to see them.
