That's why Faceless Summoner isn't played. Because there are a lot more blubber barons than blademasters in the 3 mana slot.
I feel like Faceless Summoner isn't played because it's a Mage card, and summoning random 3 drops on Turn 6 isn't what Mages want to do.
Summoning a random 3 drop to tank a hit for you and potentially survive might be played, though, especially since it's in a minion focused deck. Not saying it'll be good or that it'll see play, but those are not equivalent situations or cards.
This seems much worse than bear trap or am I missing something?
Much better.
Bear trap you take the hit and if you survive then summon the 3/3 beast, this one save you from a Leeroy and if you have luck can survive if you get something like divine shield or the 4/7.
Goes into the right direction to build a control hunter the class needs devensive options like this. Its basically a get down on steroids. And 3 cost is actually a sweetspot since there are so many valuable deathrattles and nothing that realy screws you over.
A good card but hunter will need much more to build a control deck that can keep up with priest and druid.
board protection sounds good to me. Hunter finally gets a tool to keep their early game going instead of trading out. Still weak to aoe and direct removal tho
It doesn't protect your board. It only triggers if they go face.

Oh missed that. Still, it's a decent secret imo

More random BS as a result of this card. The entire game is headed towards unpredictable nonsense. Maybe on turn 2 (!!!) I get a wicked 3-drop by complete luck! Hot damn!!!!
So sick of this. I really hope there is a new, strong anti-secret card in this set if we can expect to see more of these cards.
Ok so can someone clarify this card? Is it a 3 drop from your deck or a random one. Because if it's from the deck, secret hunter might take off and it is pretty solid, random means it'll be shit
It's only good in control/secret hunter and unfortunately at the moment that isn't a thing. Maybe when we see the rest of the cards it will be, but i doubt it....
Seems bad. You don't really care about damage mitigation as a hunter. Bear trap is better cause it is stable and guaranteed to summon a beast.
They are trying to create a control Hunter. If it exists preventing face damage will probably be useful. That is a huge “if” though and I don’t know if this would be the way to go.

noble sac plus a 3 cost is probably worth it
Oh the reference is so goddamn genious and the card is just so damn fitting flavour-wise. Is there an option other than meta defining?
Just gonna point out what people are missing. Devilsaur egg... If it dies free 5/5

They should fire Matt Dixon and give whoever made this card his salary

surely bear trap is a better option. guaranteed bear with 3 cost stats anyway? idk

I swear I just heard that Ironfur Grizzly yell "Get down!"
