This card works with silence priest. Let it sit on your opponent's side while they fight off your other minions and you collect the other pieces of the combo: Potion of Madness, Divine Spirit (x2 if needed), Inner Fire. If you get desperate you can kill it with Shadow Word: Horror

I've played it a few times (at low ranks) and I find it fun and effective enough. I play it with Priest and later in the game the chest is pretty easy to open as I have lots of cards by that point. I also had a crazy game with a Mage where we ended up with 4 or 5 chests spread throughout the game - of which Mage got most of them but lost. Overall it seems a well balanced card though.
Mh, I don't have any success with him. Tried to put him into different decks both in Wild and Standard. 1 out of 10 times, my opponent let me destroy the loot box. The other times, this thing got either Hexed, Polymorphed, Silence'd+ Innerfire... And then, the loot was, discover a Legendary and summon two copies of it,*sarcasm mode on* great choice *sarcasm mode off*; I could choose between Patches, Zeerus and Nat Pagle... Excuse me, while I am off to the Salt Thread.
This card Is exceptional in specific decks Just imagine Playing this in Evolve shaman with a moat lurker or Hand-buff paladin to help the cards 6/6 stats, Or even just straight up in priest where You can get away with The value of what the chest gives Due to exceptional control cards
So I had to change my rating from bad to playable. I inserted Marin in my Razakus Priest deck and wow he adds a new bump of fun. My first time playing Marin I summoned 2 Velen's with 2 cards left after getting Deathwing'ed. 8 damage hero power saved me. The only card that isn't that great is the Golden Kobold. Marin is going to be a competitive and fun addition for the next month for this FTP player.

In my first game with Marin i got this loot too. My choice was Nozdormu, a great choice - 32 stats for 3 mana and followed by 10 minutes of chaotic panic :)
I would've loved to get at least a minion like Noz. All I had was 2x 1/1s and a 0/4 one. Guess what my opponent got in this same match? The same loot and he got Medivh. Even without Aetish, that's some nice stats for 3 mana.
Fun card. It seems that whoever does not have Marin's treasure on his side of the board gets the loot. At least I played a game against Priest, who played Marin, then Potion of Madness plus Inner Fire the next turn. He proceeded to bash his now 8/8 treasure chest into my Lich King, after which I received the loot and he conceded. Fun times!
Why is he not a Pirate - the flavour of this card screams Pirate!!! If we don't what any more pirates then make the card an other flavour!
Could be good with Corrupting Mist
FREE DUST GG
Looks good but I'm pretty sure you don't need The Coin for that.

Sucks you can't dust him

6.9% meta defining. I see we have people with good taste here (meta-defining doesn't technically mean powerful, just that everyone plays it muahahaha)
yeah, the other three are much better.
Did get power word shield with a radiant elemental on board once though.

He's very good he got me to victory first ever game.
