I've been sitting on a golden Arfus since the opening of this expansion, and am trying to think of what to do with it. Now that I just opened Bolvar, Fireblood today and exhausted my pity timer, I wanted to stop opening Knights of The Frozen Throne packs for now, and trade Arfus for Tirion Fordring.
Considering the decks that make use of Arfus, none I've found are very strong, and require expensive, non-versatile cards like N'Zoth, the Corruptor, which I don't have, to use properly, so I don't see myself using him in the future.
As for the major Paladin Legendary cards I've got right now, I have:
I would say go ahead, Tarim and tirion are good enough on their own. The other paladin leg are more for fringe deck i.e.: pals control, handbuff paladin, corpstaker paladin and so on.
With tarim and tirion most paladin decks are enough to get you rank 5
Why not N'Zoth? You say you do not have it. You can use this in other decks too, while class legendaries such as Tirion can only played by Paladin. If this is not in your interest I would def. go for Tirion, not the other Paladin legends.
Tirion is one of the best legendaries in the game, If you enjoy playing paladin, you must have him. Arfus hasn't really seen much play, and with the upcoming changes there will be priests everywhere, meaning Potion of Madness everywhere, if you know what I mean.
He's overcosted by 1 mana, but I have seen priests and hunter still run him. Hold onto him till he rotates out. If you dust him, you might get him again anyway. Tirion is broken OP, but paladin is getting nerfed with murloc warleader.
Decent body; same as ironbark protector, which is a decent arena card
Holds the door vs aggro
Threatens to generate more value if the opponent doesn't remove it
You keep your DK card pull from him even if he's answered
Not even played in many decks anymore
Arfus
Terrible, understated body that loses you tempo
Isn't a must remove threat
You lose your DK card to silence, transform or stealing effects
Priests will thank you for the free death knight card
Lich King isn't even played in many decks anymore ... do the math
Let's face it, this card will never see play. Just pull the trigger and get yourself a relevant card. Tirion will always have a place in the meta as long as paladin is playable

well n'zoth gets rotated out "soon" so i dont think its wise crafting him, because that decks that make use of him are so expensive anyway. tirion for arfus seems like a great deal, uther and bolvar i have them both but they are both meh, mainly because i play midrange. i tried them both in midrange, and they both kinda suck, only once in 10 games they are semi-useful.
edit: I'd actually wait until the nerfs and see where pally sits after it, the murloc package is going to get hurt and time will tell how much. maybe people will go more aggressive, or switch some cards for the murloc that gives +2 health.
Yeah that is true, forgot about the rotation. I would say: go for Tirion, on of the best legendaries in the game imo.
Just go for it, Arfus is not even played while Tirion is in almost every Pally deck ever. It's the first leg I've ever crafted, not regretted since then.

I wouldn't even hesitate if I were you. Arfus is by far one of the worst legendaries in the game (I was so happy I didn't get him in a pack) and Tirion is a staple in any paladin deck even aggro paladin decks.
Paladin is pretty powerful right now, and Tirion has been a staple since the beginning of time. Even murlocs run him, just because, why not?
Arfus is not bad, but there are lots of Priests about these days, each and every one is running Potion of Madness. I wouldn't encourage you to dust him if he was normal for a feeble 400 dust, but as he's golden, it's an easy trade.

Yeah pally gets nerfed now, but Tirion has a place in every pally deck ever and always will
Okay, thanks everyone. I think my original decision is probably a good one, but that said I'm going to wait until after the patch hits to see if there are other options that will help me better.
A gold semi-useful card played in no decks currently that will eventually get phased out or the best Paladin legendary played in nearly paladin deck from the beginning of hearthstone likely to the end, since it's in the classic set.

As for the major Paladin Legendary cards I've got right now, I have:
Sunkeeper Tarim
Uther of the Ebon Blade
Bolvar, Fireblood
But I do not have:
Tirion Fordring
Wickerflame Burnbristle
Ragnaros, Lightlord
Finja, the Flying Star (Which is a Paladin card in all but name at the moment)
In addition, I already have Jade Druid, Token Druid, and Pirate Warrior decks, and am looking to branch into other classes.
I also have 645 dust on hand right now.

The lich king
Arfus

Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
Arfus is overrated. Weak, vulnerable to priest, and payout may not be a good fit.
My deathrattle hunter and Nzoth rogue still use it but it doesn't win me games compared to the Lich King.
If paladin is your thing, trade Arfus for Tirion.
Been having fun with exodia pally recently.
My dream of an elemental deck, has come true.
Servant of Kalimos Stone Sentinel Blazecaller Kalimos, Primal Lord Glacial Shard
Nzoth and go wild... best bang for your buck!

arfus is garbage. however, if you plan to open anymore KFT packs, you might pack him again if you dust it

To me, this is no contest: Tirion Fordring
