The battlecry isn't always a win condition, even with high rolls, and it can low roll. You also lose the ability to generate bodies on board with your hero power, which makes your bloodlusts and evolves much worse.
The best you can do with this dk is Establish a board By turn 4, hope you can play this on 5, then use doppelgangster and evolve to win asap. You have to rush with it, because the hero power isn't very useful with the high value, low cost minions you want in token shaman.
I honestly think this card just hinders the consistency of the deck overall. By the time the meta is defined, I expect to see this mostly in fun decks with stuff like rattling rascal and most lurker.
2) Hunter dk is actually pretty amazing.
I'm not totally convinced that its part of a meta deck just yet, but the value it generates is honestly insane.
People initially thought the hero power was bad because hunter wants to be fast and kill, so they assumed you couldn't take the time to waste 2 mana just to then combine the mana cost of 2 minions. But in reality, this will consistently offer threat after threat infinitely vs control decks.
A lot of the beasts generate strong answers, and being able to choose a nicely valued vanilla minion to fill out their stat line is very powerful. You can aim for 4 attack minions vs priest, you can aim for high health minions vs druid, plenty of big taunt beasts vs aggro if you are able to survive long enough. The deathrattle minions you make can even be resurrected by nzoth. Its very easy to make big expensive high value deathrattles with this hero power, plenty of them with taunt which makes nzoth MUCH stronger. You can reliably make something helpful 80% of the time and something game winning 5% of the time
Its hard to say what cards to put around it, but this card will be very good eventually. Either someone will figure out a solid list, or they will release enough control hunter support for this dk to really achieve its potential.
3) The paladin dk isn't as good as everyone thought.
It IS good, very good even, but I honestly think paladin is less oppressive than before. Oozes and Harrison can negate alot of the battlecry and the hero power it offers is solid, but not because of the game winning element, its just pretty good to generate a 2/2 for 2 every turn in long games.
The auction master beardo combo that is running astound is slow, inconsistent and requires a lot of cards. Control paladin has incredibly limited access to card draw and hand fixing, making beardo and burgly bully dead cards most of the time.
Control paladin might still be tier 1, but what made it so strong before was that it could easily out value most of the meta with multiple tirions and sunkeepers. But that isn't really true anymore. A lot of the other classes can now keep up now. The other death knights, especially jaina, and things like ultimate infestation, obsidian statue and sorta dead man's hand all help bring other classes closer to, or even beyond, the value of control pally.

100% agree with your assessment of Rexxar. Thing is, his current best environment is in wild given that a good deal of hunter's control options have rotated out. He absolutely shines in iterations of the old Reno control hunter build. That said, he can be really successful in a standard midrange build, but it requires a great deal of awareness to know when to play him. Losing steady shot can be a huge problem.
I think the reason that the Paladin DK is under performing right now is because the meta hasn't settled. Many people are still jamming control decks that don't really care about your life total. Uther is great against decks that do care. The meta is shifting so much. Almost hourly. I've seen most of the DK's over perform at some point (as well as under perform). Warlock DK, so far, is the only one that has been consistently good that I've seen.
On the topic of the Shaman DK; I think it's good. The evolve deck has definitely improved. I just don't think it's improved near as much as the other previously established decks, while being a bit too reliant on rng to compete with the rise of control decks. It is, however, a deck that can just be great out of nowhere, though. I do agree it is under performing right now.
the warrior DK has been performing well form me in midrange n'zoth warrior. that being said, I've only used the hero power once or twice and only in conjunction with armorsmith although every time ive played it ive used all three charges on the weapon.
overall; the weapon is good enough to be played for 7 or 8 mana, add in the five armor and the DK becomes a total beast.
I think that Rogue deathlnight is more powerful than people give credit for. All you need is 1 shadowcaster and a turn to play two copies of it and you have 1 copy of any minion each turn as well as infinite 1/1s.

I agree the weapon alone is worth it. And the hero power is pretty insane in midrange enrage warrior along with the new support.
Gotta disagree. Getting two extra giants is massive. It gives you extra eviscerates and cold bloods for finishing, the battlecry can save you vs mage and it lets you have more reliable auctioneer turns in the late game. I think it's super strong in miracle and improves its matchups by a lot.
I agree with most of your opinions. I think Shaman DK won't see any play this expansion. It's win more card and Evolve Shaman is good without it. Thrall makes sense only in control decks for me because of strong hero power.
Uther is just one more control card but Control is still pretty good wo him. I played Control Paladin in past few days wo Uther and still got really good winrate.
I really hope Rexxar will make it in new meta. I always wanted some control N'Zoth Hunter and now his chances ate better than ever.
Rogue is the most confusing one for me. It's just not so good addition to Miracle Rogue. It performs little bit better in Mill Rogue but you can play better cards instead of her.
I think the best DK will be Priest. It stands pretty well against control. I am not sure for aggro but Priest performed well against aggro in Ungoro
I think if rogue death knight concealed you and your minions it would have been 500x better.
but i made a fun combo deck with rogue dk using caverns bellow, shadow caster and valeera DK as a 3 card combo to get infinite 5/5s late game. its not really inconsistent in the sense it beats priests pretty hard but it can be slow against midrange decks that generate value and go face 90% of the time.
A singleton quest preist has done me wonders, raza and Anduin go hand in hand.
I reckon it hasn't, at what rank? The priest quest is just bad. Raza and Anduin though, sure.
Shadow essence, eternal servitude and obsidian statue were huge buffs though. I'm not sure how viable it is either, but I wouldn't be too surprised to hear that it was strong now.
I got a copy of Uther as my legendary from my first 10 packs, and I think he's really good. I don't think exodia paladin is consistent enough to work, but that seems to be the fun option on top of an already very powerful ability. A 5/3 lifesteal weapon is incredible for a control deck, and getting 2/2 minions with your hero power is nice even without the exodia.
Uther won't win you the game himself, but he's an incredible addition to an already very strong deck. He's also good for f2p players like me, because while the paladin legendaries I don't have are amazing and probably would make my deck better, stonehill defender still often lets me get tyrion or sunkeeper tarim, and grimstreet protector strangely enough is actually doing wonders for me as a substitute for the control cards I don't have. Basically, Uther is strong, not because he opens up a new architype, but because he takes a formerly t1 deck, and improves it.
EDIT: On reflection, the exodia ability is still a threat even if that's not your gameplan. Control paladin has a lot of taunt minions, which can actually be pretty difficult to deal with. Just beat a quest priest with the exodia combo while playing normally, and it gives your opponent something to think about. It's still not the most powerful side effect, but its solid.
EDIT 2: Did it again against a control paladin who had a spikeridged steeded silver hand recruit blocking his face, and had just used lay on hands to draw him 3 more cards and get his health up. With minions like argent protector, grimstreet protector, and the guy who makes opponents attacks become 1, and spells like spikeridged steed, paladin actually has a fair ability to keep a board alive and make your 2/2's really annoying for your opponent to deal with, and pretty hard to kill.
I am having a blast with Deathstalker Rexxar, even if he is not the strongest he provides fresh options for the next few expansions for Hunter and currently supports an enjoyable game every game. The thrill when you create an unholy abomination which wins the game right of the bat is priceless.
I think if it weren't for Jade Druid, players would be calling for a Jaina nerf.
Yeah, Ive seen jaina steal games that the mage had no business winning. I definitely agree that the card is a sleeper right now thanks to how in you face op druid seems to be.

Rogue DK hinders miracle.
You are better off playing a single copy of Snowflipper Penguin instead.

I think jaina is the most overrated hero out there and have still yet a game to see where this card actually won the game.
Occasionally gives helpful advice.
